And it's a big get. Mrs. HomebrewHokie was surfing Instagram and stumbled upon a picture of some dudes in Tech gear. Take a look:

A lot of y'all that know me know that where I went my lil bro was always gone be with me, my senior year of high school he was 5'11" and I was steady trying to keep him on the right path now almost 3 years later he's 6'8" and one of the top players in Junior College Available and it's a honor for him to out of nowhere he's decided to come up to Virginia Tech and join me, though he will have to sit out this season because credits transferring over it will be a complete BLESSING to be on the SAME TEAM as my lil brother again for my last year and to watch him progress in the future as I move on to my next chapters! Anybody know why he has to sit out a year due to the credits thing Zach mentioned?

It's probably because he doesn't have enough credits from JuCo that transferred over, so he only qualifies as a normal transfer (same as someone who transfers from another P5 school). There are special rules for JuCo transfers who have completed a certain number of transferrable credits prior to transferring.

Apparently he doesn't get an immediate scholarship, which leaves us with 3 scholarships to fill. At 6'8" he could be some help at center down the road.

at 6'8 i really hope we can afford to leave him at PF, if we can't get a legit big in the next couple of years our success will be limited in the ACC

Maybe, but depending on the matchup, Buzz has had success with a small lineup.

Yep, Buzz played 6'6 Jae Crowder at center a ton when he was at Marquette and had immense success. That was during the old Big East days too.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Jae Crowder also plays a ton of minutes in the NBA as a 4. I don't see an NBA player on our roster at this time

This is what I have to keep telling myself. My opinion on bigs in hoops has always been like my opinion on offensive linemen in football: The more you have the better you are. But the way Buzz plays his line-ups, that's not entirely true. If you have quick, athletic wings and forwards that will really get after you, then often times you've got the match-up advantage and not the other way around.

I found TKP after two rails from TOTS then walking back to my apartment and re-watching the 2012 Sugar Bowl. I woke up the next day with this username.

Any team really needs 2, what I consider "bigs." You need a rim protector who can hopefully contribute on the other in, and then just a rim protector who is insurance for foul trouble. Surround him with 4 athletic guard/forward combos and you're gonna be a tough team to play against.
