12:30 kickoff for the Liberty Game.
The first game of the Justin Fuente era will have a 12:30 p.m. start.
The ACC announced early-season kickoff times Thursday, finalizing time slots and TV for two of Virginia Tech's first three games.
The Hokies will open against Liberty at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 in Lane Stadium, a game televised on the ACC Network. Virginia Tech's Sept. 17 game at home against Boston College will be a 3:30 p.m. start on ESPNU.
The much-anticipated Battle at Bristol against Tennessee still does not have a kickoff time. The SEC has TV rights to the game and will announce a start time at a future date.

It should be noted however that Pitt@PSU was just announced as a Noon Kick, as they were the only other major game(SCAR@MSU I guess too). Essentially guarantees Bristol as both the Primetime slot and getting Gameday.
Wouldn't guarantee it as Gameday. Probably the front runner, especially if it's an ESPN game. Other nominees right now would probably be WSU/Boise, Arkansas/TCU and BYU/Utah. Good chance for Gameday in Bristol.
So, if SEC has game rights, what does that mean for TV $$$ for VT and the ACC? Anyone know? Thanks
Sounds like Battle at Bristol will be aired on CBS. Too bad for people staying home, I'd rather sit in the very last row, without a binocular, behind a 7' 400lb man blowing sweat on my face then watch a football game on CBS. This also guarantees a 4+ hour game with 10 minute commercial breaks between plays, unfortunately.
this...this might be a little over the top.
Will be on ESPN/ABC http://www.forbes.com/sites/kristidosh/2015/11/24/battle-at-bristol-snag...
for video editing I actually prefer CBS over ESPN/ABC. Their cut away camera moments in game are way better and their scoreboard ticker at the bottom is easier to edit out
Also visit my binocular kiosk outside the stadium for your binocular needs!
Do you take reservations? TKP discounts? Can I pay in turkey legs?
And I don't care if they have Christopher Nolan executing the most awe inspiring video editing ever seen in a football game, after the 4.5 hour (no OT) Georgia-Tennessee game last year I promised myself I wouldn't subject me or my family to their broadcasts ever again. They've honed the touchdown->commercial->extra point->commercial->kickoff->commercial sequence into an unholy spectacle of ultra-consumerist art.
Between this thread and the one about Battle of Bristol being sold out, there seems to be some confusion regarding who is broadcasting the game.
KeyPlayer bw posted a link to Forbes that says the broadcast partner is ESPN/ABC on the other thread.
That makes sense. Football season ended a while ago though and I haven't
bitchedgriped about cbs' football coverage in months! Thank god we're not in the SEC.Breakfast Sandwich and Bloody Mary tailgating it is!
I love a great bloody mary at a tailgate!

Wow!!!
That should be a thing. Have a create the most incredible Bloody Mary at a tailgate event. It would be awesome!
My favorite part of this one is that one of the garnishes of this Bloody Mary is another Bloody Mary.
Someone needs to make one of these with a smoked brisket sticking out of it. I'd love to see a nationwide contest of the best tailgate bloody mary. I vote we just stick a toothpick through a cow and have it step on the drink.
At least it's not a nooner
Would have been nice to begin the Fuente era on something other than a 12:30 game, but I get it. I have a hard time getting excited to watch us play Liberty too.
I am excited to see us play against Liberty. I want 40+ points for the good guys in the first half and for them to have cleared the benches (not counting redshirts) in the second half.
I want to see him try and break the record for points scored all time at Lane Stadium.
That shouldn't be as tough for us as some other schools. Our record is only 77 points.
It's 12:30 on TV or 3 not on TV.
I know I'm late bringing this up, but did anyone notice in the rest of the schedule that we play Miami 5 days after traveling to Syracuse?
Not thrilled for that outcome.
Been awhile since Miami won 3 in a row against us. I think we beat them this year and reverse our two years of horrendous play against them.
I hope so!
Umm, what?
Raycom etc. in Myrtle Beach it means the game will be on the CW.
Damn, and I was hoping for an easter egg that the ACC network would be happening even sooner than expected.
That would be a total #goACC way to announce it.
