Is that like the Dietrick Dash? They changed the name to D2 my sophomore year and I thought it was such a worthless choice of a name. I mean, they completely renovated Owens the next year and left the name the same. Same thing with west end. Why give Dietrick a dumb name?

I wasn't particularly WoW-ed by that one either.
I just didn't get why they needed to change the name just because they rearranged the floor plan a little. Food quality stayed the same, so far as I was concerned.
While neither Dietrick nor D2 were particularly great, I thought it was a massive upgrade, from a style and food standpoint. The amount of options went up by a lot. I remember the freshmen that were around in D2 complaining about it, and all I could think of was "you guys have no idea what they used to serve here."
layout was better, sure. Easier access to each type of food cause you weren't limited to the 4 lines. Food variety even increased. But quality? Nope. That said, I still ate at least one meal a day there for my entire 3 years in AJ.
I remember when I first came to Tech and heard everyone refer to Dietrick Express as DX. Walking in at 1 am for corn dog nuggets like:
