BLACKSBURG โ€“ The Virginia Tech Athletics Department announced Monday the formation of Inside Backers Gridiron Club, a group designated for the providing of support to the Hokies' football program.
The Inside Backers Gridiron Club will resemble the Hokie Hardwood Club, which consists of a group of donors and fans who support the women's basketball program at Virginia Tech.
The mission of the Inside Backers Gridiron Club is to preserve the traditions of the football program, foster the ideals of Virginia Tech football, and raise the financial support needed to maintain a successful program. The financial support will go toward supplementing the program's recruiting efforts and specifically toward camps, transportation costs, and facilities enhancements.
"We're excited about expanding the Virginia Tech family with the introduction of this club," Tech football coach Justin Fuente said. "I'm hopeful that this club will be a foundation of support for the legacy of Virginia Tech football for years to come and we will use this support to improve our recruiting efforts. Recruiting is the lifeblood of any program and we want to invite the tight-knit Virginia Tech community to help us fund our efforts to bring the best players in the country to Virginia Tech."
The club will work in coordination with the Hokie Club and is open to anyone willing to make the minimum donation of $2,500. Those who desire to do so may commit at one of the following two levels:

Giving Levels:

Level 1 โ€“ This elite membership for 2016-17 begins with an annual contribution of $2,500. Level 1 supporters will receive the "Hokie Happenings" newsletter, access to a select number of practices throughout the season, unique football-related gear (unavailable to the general public), and attendance at a special Signing Day Luncheon attended by Coach Fuente and other members of the Virginia Tech football staff.
Level 2 โ€“ This elite membership for 2016-17 begins with an annual contribution of $25,000. Level 2 supporters will receive the same Level 1 incentives with enhanced access to all practices, including the opportunity to bring a guest, invitation to the Kick-Off Party with the coaching staff at Coach Fuente's home, and the opportunity to attend a getaway trip with members of the coaching staff.
Both levels of contribution would be in addition to one's annual giving to the Hokie Club-Hokie Scholarship Fund, which is necessary to secure priority season ticket and parking locations in Lane Stadium and Cassell Coliseum. Gifts to the Inside Backers Gridiron Club program are tax deductible, however, and directly enhance football recruiting. In addition, gifts to the Inside Backers Gridiron Club add to donors' cumulative Hokie Club point priority totals

sounds like a great plan. Cool perks too. But, do I have that much money to give?

Those level 2 benefits are pretty sweet. If anyone becomes a level 2 and needs a friend to bring, I'd be happy to help out.

Looks at this......looks at my paychecks.......dies a little inside

Where's the $50 a year, give me a sticker option?

This isn't the Hokie Club. This is geared towards high level donors who want to give money to the Football team. As for Atheltic booster Clubs, like the Hokie Club not many P5 teams offer $50 levels anymore.

You meet Foster, and it's ideal if you give a lot of money...

Looks like only the "exclusive gear" benefit does anything for those of us who can't attend events in person outside of football season. Real shame, as I'd be very tempted otherwise.

Who am I kidding... I inquired further anyway.
