Just saw this posted on twitter. Big thing I take from it is more Turkey Legs. There can never be enough Turkey Legs.

So included in this years fan requested additions are things like a second Turkey Leg stand, improved audio in the stadium using an outside company to make sure audio is at the same level throughout the stadium, an improved Hokie Village with a pregame show staring Willie Byrnn, more food options and sounds like more kids entertainment, the South Endzone is getting alcohol and free food (Jeep we are best friends now remember), the concourses are also getting new flat screen TV's. These all sound like quality upgrades and further proof that Tech has the right AD at the helm. Things I would like to see next year: improved bathrooms, more improvements to the Hokie Village so kids and parents are not waiting in line for 30 mins to do something and a food stand selling brats and sausages with all the fixins.
Alright, you've done it twice now this week. Don't copy and paste the entire article from somewhere else, even if it's free like from Hokiesports.

Sorry thought I had edited it down to four points. Fixing it now.
It's a media release, not an article.
Although I don't think copying and pasting the entire release adds any value. And reading an entire release in <blockquote>s is rather painful on my eyes. What's valuable are original thoughts that propel an insightful discussion.
Some folks can't click twitter or t.co links at work, we appreciate the Fireman's efforts.
Geez...uptight much....
I think Lane is going to be selling alcohol throughout by start of next season. What started as a few select places across the country has really blown up this year.
Sell me the booze Whit.
Don't forget Andrew Allegreta on the show with Willie Byrn. He is a solid personality that calls for baseball and women's basketball.
Damn, sounds like these games are taking on a NFL-quality environment. Maybe someone can tell me when the NCAA allowed selling of alcohol at any of their games. I remember going to a UMD-Clemson game at the old Memorial Stadium in B'more, thinking we could bring our 5-gallon Gott cooler full of draft beer into the stadium (because it was a non-college setting), and getting turned away because of the collegiate rule. Ended up being one of the first tailgate parties on the parking lot because of it....haha.
But seriously, anybody know when that rule changed? What was even more absurd about that rule was that the legal drinking age in most states was 18 back then, making it legal for about all students to drink.
A lot of great improvements in here.
Agreed. Good to know they are listening to fan feedback and implementing good ideas
Fan Experience Improvements.... hmmmmm what could I possibly ask for.... hmmmmm, oh wait, I know
Feel like there needs to be a third one.....
I love Whit. That man just gets it.
Here's my image review of the important food changes:
Very glad to read that they will be addressing sound volumes. My seats are in Section 18 almost across the entire field from the new video board and I still have to plug my ears to avoid being deafened.
All sound great. Second turkey leg stand is definitely my favorite of what's listed.
The Hokies Xtra app additions will be cool, but will we have the bandwidth to use it at the stadium during a game? I think the answer is no, sadly
Wise you are correct about the bandwidth. Probably no. Last year I was talking with the IT group about wireless in Lane (as the NFL is doing) and the conclusion was that the money would not be spent on a facility that holds so few events every year.
BTW, what does Bristol offer? Hum............

lol..."secret"
The biggest things they need are serpentine barriers in front of each concession area. Navigating the concourses during halftime is impossible with everyone just out in single-file lines. I hope this is in the works.
Not sure of big of logistical nightmare it may be, but I wonder if they are exploring online ordering and paying via an app. All people have to do is run and pick up their food.
Wouldn't they have to solve the cell phone/wifi issue first?
Apps are useless without data service.
Its been a hot second since I've been in Lane so I wasn't aware that was an issue. That being said that issue would make my idea complete moot.
It's no more of an issue than anywhere else, there's no way to let 40,000 eat, drink and relieve themselves in 15 minutes.
I am also glad they're addressing the audio level. It is ridiculous at times. Since cell service is non-existent during games and wifi is apparently not an option, I would still like to see more frequent score updates from other games. They said they were going to do better about this last season, but it seems like they started out doing ok and then forgot about it by midseason.
Does anyone know if you can get a VT dairy milkshake at football games?
Yes I just don't know what section their stand is.
They normally walk through Section 18 and deliver to the seat.
My big takeaways were LED ribbon boards and food trucks. The new boards will allow for more than just basic stats to be posted in the stadium. The food trucks are going to be an awesome addition for the pre game scene.
Looking forward to new food options and the nicer TV's.
Been trying to get a turkey leg for a while and haven't been able to.
move hokie pokey to half time. add stick it in. bring back the terror dome
We need to trial doing the Hokie Pokie to Sandman in close games at the start of the fourth. It just might work!
