The article says it was 2000 (but cancelled due to the storm, home game vs GoT). So which was the actual, factual very FIRST game it was used??
Sorry i mistyped - I should have said 2000. There was an excellent piece a few years back of how Virginia Tech came up with Enter Sandman as it was tested against Welcome to the Jungle and others, but I cannot locate. For some reason, I feel like it was an old Bill Roth report.
I'm curious as well. I was a student around this time, but do not recall use of the Enter Sandman entrance. Perhaps it was just the song blaring and the unified jumping progressed to what it is now.

Tapes is the man. Inexplicably missing some of MV7's biggest highlight reel games from 2000, but that complaint is hardly a trifle when you look at his library. Great way to kill time/remember how good we used to be after losses
TimBliss has a decent library of all games, specifically Memphis games from last year if you have the itch like myself.

I rarely take the time to rewatch entire games, but the late VTphreak4evr has a pretty extensive highlight collection for every game going back to 1993.
Phreak seemed to have a bit of an attitude, but did he ever do Hokie nation a huge favor. RIP my man.
Seriously, as long as he isn't out there kicking puppies, I can live with any attitude problems because those edited games are the best around.
More of a reference to when he gor into a bit of a kerfuffle with Billdozer. I thought phreaks accusations were unjustified, or at least it appeared that way to me. However, I really wish phreak were still around doing what he did.

Wow. I think I must have tuned out the thread or missed it the week it came back, because I remember everything from before the announcement but not after.

I rewatch HokieTapes games in the background on my other monitor during the offseason sometimes. I just finished watching the 2014 UVA game and I'm queuing up the 2015 UVA game now.
The 2014 game is definitely a top 3 game to me. Everything about it is just awesome.
Hokietapes has been my standby for watching VT games (after the fact) when I couldn't see the live broadcast. He typically will post the latest game the week following the game, which is heaven-sent when on deployments, out of region, or simply not having access to ESPN3. I'd give him a ton of legs if I could.
How quickly does he usually get games up? Since it is a nooner it will be 1 AM my time, and well I am a lame old man with two little kids that wake me up too early for any of that craziness
