If that OL plays another down of college football Les Miles should be fired.

Miles already setting up the kid to play soon. Might miss a series or quarter is my guess.
He's out for the first half of the next gNe by NCAA rule. Les should suspend him 3 games (IMO). The conference can also suspend him.

Edit: There's a very small possibility that he didn't know the play was over, but next time he'll pay closer attention.
This was my thought, as an OL you see a pick and a guy running down the field you tackle him. The hit probably looked worse because the guy wasn't prepared at all for it, that place was so loud, would be surprised if he heard a whistle.
Normally I would agree. But there is a crystal clear video angle that shows the guy wasn't engaged in a block and watched the throw, the pick, and the guy hit the ground.
As a senior, he knows the rules and the only way he didn't know the play was over is if he is completely blind

what's with everyone calling for people's jobs? Put down the pitchforks and brooms and realize that these are young men who make stupid mistakes. He'll hopefully be suspended a game by SEC for the terrible late hit, but no one needs to lose their job.
Who's losing their job? I think people are say g Miles should be fired because he should have actually been fired last year for his coaching performance
The kid even started talking trash after he hit the guy. He knew what he did was wrong before he even did it. He should definitely be suspended multiple games.
Hits like that end players careers, not to even say potentially cause serious injury. Saying he should be punished for it is hardly grabbing pitchforks.

Correct. However he has consistently underperformed with one of the nations most talented rosters for a number of years now. This year looks to be no exception.
I'm not saying he should be fired. Just think it's important to look at the recent context as to why there are a lot of people that think it's time. If he loses 3 games this year, he's probably gone. Them's the breaks at a school like LSU

LSU was overrated at 5 and everyone knew it. They were only there to hype Fournette, who gets NO help from the rest of that putrid offense. Wisconsin is not good, they're no better than fourth in their conference but could be as bad as 7th.
Les Miles will not survive the season. Vegas probably set up a line for which weekend he'll get fired. He'll be eating Thanksgiving dinner at home with the family.
The problem with firing Miles is who do you get that's better? If they back the money truck up for Herman or Fisher than sure, but everything else and you're basically gambling.
Yes, but they're in a much better position to find a coach this year than last year. They can just say he's under performing in the past few years and then start a coaching search. This will give them less competitors and they can find their guy.
They would have gotten on the coaching carousel too late last year and buying your coach out when he's done well does not bode well with getting someone else.
7th? I mean I'll give you ohio state and michigan but michigan state hasnt looked good to boot, iowa totally over achieved last year and nebraska is eh. The defense is spectacular and bart houston looks to be a step up from joel staave who was good enough to win 9 games last year and Corey Clement doesn't have a sports hernia anymore.
This is not a bad team at all, I'm not saying they'll win a championship but I fully expect this to be a 8-9 win team despite one of the hardest schedules in America
