I thought TKP could use a laugh, and this certainly made me hysterical. N.C. State blogger Steven Muma published a post titled "NC State an early 4.5-point favorite over Eastern Carolina" (http://www.backingthepack.com/2016/9/5/12797638/nc-state-an-early-4-5-po...). A subtle troll which is rooted in a schedule poster typo. The response from ECU fans is hilarious.

Well, in the typo's defense, there is a Western Carolina University...with the same colors.
Also, One Easy Tip for Trolling Pirates!
It would be a lot funnier if ESPN didn't constantly call us VAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH Tech....
Still pretty damn funny. Might have to use that one on my ECU friends.
My face when they do this:
I did this once while playing NCAA 07 and my brother was in the room and he looked and me and just said NO...and i never made that mistake ever again

MRW I hear that. Also I immediately begin to discredit the announcer.
Directional Carolina
Eastern Carolina fans have a real insecurity complex. They've spent decades trying to relevant to someone in the state of Northern Carolina, that didn't go to the school and are still waiting for that validation. It's too easy to troll them, like the NCSU writer did.
You wanna troll them good?
Just remind them they were the first to be eliminated for Big 12 expansion in a decision that saw the likes of Colorado State, SMU, Cinci, Air Force, Rice, Tulane, and USF move on. Because that SEC invite is waiting for a team a desperate conference passed on in lieu of Tulane football.
If Tulane get an invite they have a great history of membership in football conferences: SIAA, Southern, SEC, CUSA, AAC and now maybe Big 12.
VT fans do the exact same thing haha. I love VT football with all my heart, but not many fan bases try to push what little relevance they have on other people like Hokie fans.
Let me introduce you to Clemson. They have won the ACC twice since I was born in 1992, but their fans talk down to every other team and have for my entire life referred to themselves as a blue blood because of 1981 when they bought a championship. Most of the fans who will remind you of this were not alive in 1981.
To continue, the term Clemsoning. Clemson fans get so incredibly bent out of shape when you mention this, it's the ultimate inferiority complex response. You remember when Dabo went apeshit to the media one time over the term? At this point, the term is pretty irrelevant, but it remains because Clemson fans are the kid who can't take a joke AT ALL, so everyone keeps messing with him because he freaks out and throws a tantrum every time you make a joke at his expense. It doesn't even matter if what you're saying to make fun of them is true or completely outlandish, it's the utter inability to take a joke that keeps the joke from dying.
Sure Clemson too, didn't say VT was the only one.
I guess I am that bad at geography, because I couldn't point out East Carolina on a map. Pretty sure I can find North and South Carolina though.
East Carolina - its in the Northern portion of the Central Plains of North Carolina which is part of the Southern States of the United States, which is just West of the Shoneys off i-13.
It's east of I-95, which makes it a part of the Carolina Flood Plain.
I hate that i love this gif...
About 4 years ago, there was a house on Edwards Mill Rd in Raleigh that had this design painted on the front lawn which sloped down to the road. Props to that guy!
Which is pretty awesome in itself considering Carter-Finley Stadium and the PNC Area parking lot entrances are on Edwards Mill Rd...
Yeah, but it's near the Harris Teeter at Duraleigh Rd, not on the hillside where the State Fair trucks park, unfortunately. You could conceivable make a VT the size of Worsham Field with room for some nice border artwork which could be SEEN from Carter-Finley.
Hmmm... I don't live too, too far from there
I live about 5 minutes from there. Alum07, you wanna go halfsies?
Why does this center on Charlotte instead of Greenville?
Its pretty much dropping straight on Fayettville... Maybe for Ft. Bragg?
As someone who now unfortunately is employed by ECU, I'll also give this fun tidbit.
An outside company was hired to create a student convocation video a few weeks ago, and in the rough draft the opening title read "The University of East Carolina."
Everyone lost their shit.
ECU fans aren't very "creditable"
Maybe ask Timecop, were they Formerly known as Eastern Carolina?
.....not....formally?
To-may-to, to-mah-to....
Pretty sure formerly works. As in, VT was formerly known as VPI
Yeah I know. That's why it doesn't make sense to me. This joke stems from a letter Mike London wrote to a recruit formerly inviting him to be a Cavalier. So the comment would make more sense if "formerly" were used incorrectly. It isn't. So I expressed my confusion.
...missed that. Timecop reference and everything. Just...missed it
Yea, I had that nice fastball down the middle, then just struckout and farted while doing so with that one. Next time, next time.
I think I could hear this, all the way from Goldsboro
I am totally adopting "Eastern Carolina" when referring to our divisional rival, ECU.
Lets make this a thing. We should get to hashtagging the week before the ECU game. #easterncarolina
if An Ohio State can become a thing, Eastern Carolina can become a thing... Actually, they're the University of Eastern Carolina, to merge two stories together
#beateasterncarolina
This is a hashtag I could get behind
I totally read that as #beasterncarolina
You know what, that kind of works.
Looks like kennyhokie came back as an Eastern Carolina fan. Glad to see him back at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
