what worries me most is that I don't think we saw UT's best offensive play calling last night. Yes, their line was porous (I loved when App State almost got a sack rushing three and forced a throw to the stands) and Dobbs' throwing was suspect, but I saw very few called runs for Dobbs and that was supposed to be a staple of their offense. I expect to see a lot more runs with big ole #1 blocking instead of carrying next week.
Combine that with one of their captains getting ejected early on and I can only be so giddy after this game and not yet seeing what we can do as a team. BUT, any time your opponent struggles against what should be a lesser team, it's encouraging. I just hope our guys keep the attitude of being an underdog because you can bet UT got some of their entitlement chewed out of them by Jones after that game last nigh.

Ehh what I saw was a horrible OL that couldn't routinely stop a 4 mean rush last night. App St is decent, but if they could continuously get penetration Mihotra and Settle will destroy them. Sure, we'll see Dobbs run more, but after last night, that's more out of necessity than scheme. And we saw what happens if we make him throw, he does really stupid things with the ball.
They may be good but last night didn't show it. Defensively they clamped down nice in the second half but App was overly run centric and really never even tried to pass. And even then it took them to the second half for Tennessee to adjust.
I like our chances a lot more after last night. Tennessee right now reeks of this year's overrated over hyped SEC squad. This is now a very winnable game for us.

5 interceptions in 13 games last year. Totally stupid ball security. Yeah hang your hat on that. App State was the exception to his decision making not the rule. I think he was just trying too hard to carry the team and get something going. He's a smart kid. I have no doubt he has corrected his thinking.

I won't make a guess, but OSU had a new OL when we played them in the Horseshoe. Worked out well for our TFL/sack stats. Although JT Barrett was a brand new QB at that point, too. Dobbs ain't no spring chicken

This. Every team knows we struggled last year against the QB power, and having their big RB lead-block for him will be difficult for us. I want to see how we handle that.

Look. Tennessee just struggled mightily against App St. At home. You can bet your ass the Hokies are gonna bring it in Bristol.
Ya but we have a game to play Saturday so let's just chill until Sunday. We don't exactly have a squeaky clean record against FCS teams either.
App State upgraded two years ago. They're Sun Belt now.
Yeah but we're playing Liberty... who beat App state two years ago in Boone.
You are downright evil with the screen grab of a paused video
Can't tell you how many times I tried to click to watch that video
Geekin... because I've done it at least 5 times.

Foster's D-line has a way of uncorrecting QBs' thinking.
Nick Foles once threw for 27 TD and 2 INTs.... Funny, but the next season, he kinda sucked.
What happened last year was last year.
Okay, you've seen our unreliable quarterback and weak o-line, what's the total of the tfl/sacks? You gotta be guessing high

Cornvolio would like a word.
I know we've given Stewart Mandel some grief recently, but this is straight [ fire emoji ].
Mandel is a self important blowhard and one of the most pompous writers in CFB.
But he knows his stuff and can be straight savage. I'm still willing to read him
we need this on a loop with "I threw it on the ground" playing in the background:

The first Surrender Cobra of the season appeared last night in Knoxville.
