Just saw the injury report for BC and it said that Deshawn McClease was done for the year. Anyone hear what might have happened? Good news though: Marshawn Williams is active so there's that.

RIP RUN 3MC
Damn, man, ya cain't have nuthin'.
Down to McPick 2 with a side of Juice?
Mc Pick 2 with ROGERS SAUCE
As long as it isn't a McChicken
ESPN app pushed through that McCleese's injury was an upper extremity.
That's all Bitter said too.
Complete injury report for those who want it.
I don't understand why they would release so much information. Why give away the fact that Young and McClease are out for the whole year??
Beamer would've kept this closer to the vest

Also noticed the cincy chili hate on TKP twitter and I have to say Skyline Chili may be one of my favorite things in this world. I keep at least 4 cans of the stuff in my house always in case we get snowed in for a few hours. Carolina BBQ can piss off with all of their soupy meats.
Isn't Skyline chili pretty much defined by the term "soupy meat"?
Carolina BBQ is fantastic & a Skyline 5-way is heaven. What is horrible is the stuff they try and pass off as BBQ here in Georgia. Sauce on the side? C'mon, man.
Good barbecue doesn't need sauce. Memphis dry style FTW.
I spent some formative years living in Cincy. Skyline Chili is solid fast foodish cuisine. Just don't make the mistake of wandering into a Gold Star.
If you're ever in the Greensboro, NC area (not for an ACC or NCAA championship game of course) you can find a decent Cincinnati style chili at Cincy's Downtown.

Out for season? Upper extremity? Broken neck?
I mean, break a collarbone, you're probably talking a max of 8 weeks, but not the entire season. Maybe some kind of severe arm fracture, but still, there's a lot of season left, so it's either something very serious, or the docs are being extremely cautious of an in-season return.
Could be anything from a torn pec/bi/tri or rotator cuff. Those things will usually shut a guy down for a season.
Labrum tear will put you out for 6 months... just from dislocating a shoulder.
Been there. It absolutely would have him out until beyond bowls. I was three months before I could golf, let alone play D1 football
Is he a true freshman? If so, it likely just means he's taking a redshirt. Even missing through Week 10 with the stable we have currently, they'd be foolish to waste the year of eligibility.
He redshirted last year.
But he could still apply for a medical hardship waver since he played less than half the season, right?
Pretty sure you don't qualify unless you've already redshirted due to an injury. I guess if he had a significant injury during his rs last year he could qualify, but I don't recall anything on him.
I remembered that incorrectly. You're absolutely right. You have to lose two seasons to injury to qualify for a 6th year waiver.

rs- freshmen.
8 weeks nearly is the season in college football after 2 games.
Fumbleitis.

Hope for a speedy recovery.
Why the /s?
At least McClease wasn't on the field to fumble last week
Hope he heals up well. The health of our players is definitely something I'll always cheer for.
That said - If they hold him out the rest of the season, is he eligible for a medical redshirt? He might get back for the end of the season, but is it worth it if they could get him a medical redshirt?
Hate to see him lose a season. On the bright side, we get (a very fit looking) Marshawn back. Looking forward to fully healthy ShaiShawn after they flashed so much promise.
The age of Dragon ShaiShawn has begun.
For his sake, at least its an 'upper' extremity and not the twig or berries.
With all our fumbling problems, I dont think we need Williams getting in the mix too much right now. Mckenzie and McMillian are running the ball VERY well right now. I must say McKenzie has been a huge pleasant surprise and Mcmillian is a burner that has some moves as well. McKenzie, it is my opinion, will end up the most consistent back we have and become a star.
I hope the injury isn't related to ball security drills
Virginia Tech student injured by a boxing glove on a stick. More on this developing story at 11.
Here's what gets me about "upper extremity" in this situation.
If he's done for the season, what's the harm in being more specific about what was injured?
Perhaps it's not completely diagnosed. They know it's severe enough (break, tear, whatever) to end the season but additional testing needs to be done.
Ahhhh yes the UNC route. Keep releasing details until we stop caring.
I call this the Hockey-way-of-describing-injuries.
I thought hockey injuries were pretty much you're playing unless you can't walk/tell what day of the week it is.
