VT vs. UNC/Duke - Hokies Will Travel Well!

I have noticed when perusing StubHub that UNC and Duke are both dumping their tickets when the Hokies come to town.

I have already purchased 6 tickets for Dook and I may do the same for UNCheats. Let's take over their stadiums with Maroon and Orange!

StubHub:
Oct 8: UNC Tickets – Starting at $32
Nov 5: Duke Tickets – Starting at $7

There's also a tailgate being set up through the Alumni Association for both games. For the UNC game, we'll be meeting at the Friday Center lot, and having a more informal gathering. No purchase necessary, just BYOB, look for the Alumni Association banners. There should be a shuttle to the game, and we'll be out there 4 hours before the game.

For the Duke game, we'll have a big function, with proceeds going toward a scholarship for a local student (out of state tuition for these kids, so the scholarship certainly helps). It is all you can eat, all you can drink tailgating with your fellow Hokies for 3 hours prior to kickoff. You can buy your tickets at the following location: Trianglehokies.org

Prices are as follows:
Adult buffet w/ game ticket: $75
Adult buffet only: $45
Child buffet w/ game ticket: $40
Child buffet only: $30

For the game in 2014, we had a bunch of people from the Athletic Department come and stop by and mingle, including Whit Babcock, Desiree Reed-Francois, and Kevin Jones. We also had an appearance from the cheerleaders and the Hokie Bird for all children. I know the price may be high compared to what you can get on Stubhub, but it does go to a good cause, and it has been a great event every year we've been out there.

You know I'm always on here, so just let me know if you have questions, and I'll answer as best as I can.

Thanks for the info, dude.

Ah, the Triangle schools. Where the food costs more than the tickets.

if you don't want to set up your own tailgate, i suggest you buy a ticket to this one. i did it in my senior year and i had a great time rubbing elbows with Hokies from the Triangle area AND ate/drank my way until kickoff. sure, it might be a bit pricey but consider where the money goes.

Thanks! Yeah, we had nearly 400 show up in 2011 and then I want to say upwards of 300 in 2014 for the Duke game. The way things are shaping up this year with the way the team is playing, we could shatter those numbers this year. I know the prices could be a little high, but we are pretty hamstrung by what Duke charges us, but this does come with multiple kegs of beer (craft beer at that) and a huge buffet of all you can eat tailgating food, like bbq, hamburgers, hotdogs, wings, etc. They also have us tailgating in a large gym right next to Wallace Wade, so you get plenty of bang for your buck, and don't have to leave the tailgate until just before kickoff.

Hope to see you again next month!

you guys did a great job when i attended in '11 but unfortunately won't be able to make it this season... i'm thinking '18 and i can assure you i'll bring additional 757 Hokies with me to support the Triangle Hokies

outside of eating/drinking well, i remember the Duke Blue Devil was hesitant to get his(?) picture taken with a bunch of semi-drunk VT undergrads until he finally relented. also got to get into one of Duke's practice courts which is where they had their merchandise shop.

Just bought tickets and requested a RV permit through parking services for the Friday Center lot (whatever that means). I'll definitely come by. I'm pretty stoked for this one

Also....you can get UNC tickets for $25 EACH. Go to http://goheels.com/tickets and click on Promotions..then use "FACULTY" for the code. Let's fill it up.

Hmmmm... I first, I though this was shady as hell, to take advantage of the Faculty/Staff promotion like that...

Then I noticed those seats line up directly with the dozens and dozens of tickets that are on sale through Stubhub right now. They're double dipping, and setting 2 prices!

Or...

The faculty are selling their tickets for profit.

No, I'm talking the exact same seats. Earlier today I was looking at a grouping of about 11 or 12 tickets in 211 Row S or T... Through GoHeels, that entire row is available for purchase.

Unsavory dealings at UNC?

"Exit light..."

It's probably nothing nefarious. The person in charge got a degree from them and, well, can't actually read so they double posted by accident.

Hotels do similar things all the time. Post the exact same room on three different travel sites for three different prices. Sometimes you'll see one rate online and call and get a totally different one for the same room. Definitely some double dipping going on.

Do you think by purchasing a ticket through this "FACULTY" promotion, UNC will require a faculty/staff ID to use the ticket?

I'll be there with goodwipd for the game against Duke. We've gone several times over the years and it's always fun to see the amount of orange and maroon blanketing their parking lots for some good ol' tailgating.

I'm thinking about going to the UNC game if the tickets come down a little bit more. Where is everyone sitting?

I have no idea why my username is VT_Warthog.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

As long as the post above is accurate, you can get the tickets on UNCheat's website.

Tickets purchased. Section 100, See y'all there!

4 tickets in section 203! Look forward to seeing for maroon and orange than Carolina blue in the stadium!

This illustrates why moving the ACC championship to Charlotte was a good move. Time will tell going forward.

-What we do is, if we need that extra push, you know what we do? -Put it up to fully dipped? -Fully dipped. Exactly. It's dork magic.

Ill be in section Lower North Corner 111 Row A

Parents and brother coming down from Michigan, we will be in Section 109!

there are 9 of us in section 101. Let's be the majority!

Let's GO!!!!!!!...

Three of my party in Section 103. Trying to get more to go. Lets get this place full of Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange!

Yea, the code works and from what I have seen it does not require a faculty pass, etc as its in general seating (usually $40 tickets). We have a Hokie who works at UNC...he was forwarded the code by the school and hundreds, if not more, Hokies have bought tickets w/ it.

I bought tickets from UNC the day they put single game tickets on sale at the advice of a UNC grad coworker and I'm up in 211. I learned my lesson on this one. Jeez. Last time I trust someone with a fake diploma.

I'll be at the Duke game, but I'll never go to another UNC game. It's too uncomfortable to sit if you're taller than 6', and it's miserable getting in and out of that place.

Easy fix. Stand and be loud!

i'm still questioning why they put the bathrooms on the mezzanine which bottlenecks traffic...thinking it was the work of a Wolfpack architect. LOL

Speaking of the bathrooms, a friend of mine (bigger guy) had to essentially go into a urinal perpendicular and just kinda shimmy his way into position. Everything about that stadium is meant for small people and small-time football.

7 of us in 202 - Row R

You can get $20 tickets for the Duke game right off the Duke Athletics Website if you use the passcode TEACHER the seats are in section 113 I bought 5 last night. Just go under students and promotions section when searching for seats and enter the passcode and pick however many you need

Just got my tickets, 4.5 of us in 222.
