I LOVE COACH FUENTE

His little wry smile then bro-hug with Foster was epic but his postgame interview when asked about the Hokie fans in attendance says a lot about him as a person.

"It was pretty cool, when we came out on the field. it was pretty special to start the game. The Hokie Nation didn't care if it was raining and that was pretty powerful. Makes you really proud to work here. You know it's important to a lot of people I was thinking to myself, I sure would like to win ball games for these people because they sure are passionate about their kids, their Hokies, and it was a pretty cool experience, it really was."

I hope he remembers days like today...I swear I am not freaking out but you have to believe LSU and Texas are noticing what's happening here this season. Stuff like this tells me we can compete even if the pockets are nowhere as deep.

The real question here is who are you going to be if you leave Arlington?

Eh I dunno, that's a little out of whack. You can take the Jason out of Arlington but you can't take the Arlington out of Jason

your daddy :)

Tyrod did it Mikey, Tyrod did it!!

He's got a good thing going here. He Convinced one of the best Defensive Coordinators in Bud Foster to stick around and what these guys can do together is scary. Cornelson isn't getting enough credit as our OC IMO. My personal spiel is I would rather build my own temple filled with loyal loving fans and stick around for 29+ years in a place that's great to raise kids instead of head to a hostile environment in a situation where I'm forced to beat Nicky Satan every year in order to keep my job. "LSU wants this". No offense but Nick Saban is enough reason for me if I was a HC not to want to go to LSU. Not out of fear but to maintain pure inner bliss. It may be more money, but it's also more head ache. I would rather live peaceful without a giant yellow and purple target painted on my back. But I digress, this is like.... My opinion man.

It is a natural gift I posess to create friction in sensitive situations.

:--) Turkey to you, and I agree.

I don't know what kind of magic Whit and Fuente have working, but give me more. Their staff moves have all been excellent so far. The new coaches are all more than competent, and possibly all upgrades. They not only convinced Bud to stay, but somehow re-energized him in the process. I have seen that man both kiss babies (literally, after the Liberty game) and kill opposing offenses. A driven and focused Bud is a scary Bud, and I love it!

You can't run this offense in the sec. They said during the aTm Vs. Tenn game that all these spread coaches came to sec and quickly realized they have to adapt to the sec Pro style offense.

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

Wouldn't that be based on the assumption that the spread is designed to get skill players on the edges, and that the SEC has "too much speed and athleticism" for that to succeed? I am not sure I buy that logic. It's probably true when the SEC team has considerably better talent, but it would be tough to make that generalization.

Um, ATM runs a spread (and it gives Saban fits.)
In my opinion its exactly what you need to win in the SEC. I think Auburn made the Championship game a few years ago after they ran Loeffler out of town. Maybe not a bad coincidence.

"It's a Hokie takeover of The Hill ... in Charlottesville!" -Bill Roth

I'd say that pro style offenses such as LSU and Georgia are struggling more so than spread type offenses in the SEC. Even Alabama is using Spread concepts now a days to get these elite athletes they have in space on the outside.

I've got to believe both Fuente and Foster know what they have here.

It's pretty awesome, and not easy to come by.

That bro hug was perfect. It has to be weird for Foster right now, getting an offense that is effective and instills confidence. It's like an animal who gets abused ( :( ) early in life and then goes to a loving home. Hopefully he is getting less skittish and not peeing as much when he hears thunder.

Listen to the Chowder and Grits Podcast for ACC and Hokies football talk.

I'm guessing those conversations over golf with Frank get more and more awkward. "So... how's the new boss?" "Great, it's nice finally having someone who values offen...I mean, um, he's ok"
