Stewart Mandel has changed his tune

He's gone from being very meh about us in the preseason to having us in his Top 10 this week.

It's great to see this, but I hope that Fuente can make sure the attention is all on Syracuse. I'm nervous about that game.

Not sure we are quite top 10 yet. I want to believe but we aren't even halfway through the season yet. Take care of business the next three weeks and it should be smooth sailing from there on out. I do appreciate Mandel changing his view. Speaks to what this team has been able to accomplish so far.

VT is 0-0 this week.

Next up, Syracuse.

Let's remember we've been ranked before, and that rankings don't matter (except in the BCS). Wins matter.

Wow, how quickly the perception of our program has changed. Can't let it get to ours heads. That said....nothing can stop us now! 14-1 or bust!

Some ESPN announcers turned on a dime yesterday as well. Before the game they were all promoting UNC for division championship and we were "not good". After game they were "UNC is finess team not ready for smashmouth football game with VT". Wow, what a difference a day makes. Still doesn't keep them from running "The U" 1980's football history for the 400th time year after year after year hoping they can help it come true again because they can see themselves profiting from a two million person marketing area again. It's amazing how honesty or fairness can be thrown out the window for hope of ratings. They profited for many years off the interest and highly rated VT games even though they couldn't explain why so many people were interested. Gee, maybe it was because they were watching good football ! Sorry for the rant, but I've had it with the marketing mindset of the TV people and how they feel it's their right to dictate everything related to college football. Other than that, ,it's a pretty day and a wonderful time to be a Hokie.
