Photo Gallery: Hokies at North Carolina

Saturday officially marked the rainiest game I've ever photographed! According to Weather Underground, between kickoff at 3:40 and when the players were done celebrating at 6:56, it rained 2.99 inches.

Personally, I love photographing in the rain. It's different and gives the photos a little something extra, even if you can't always be as creative with your camera and lens choices. For this game, I photographed everything (except pre and post game) with one camera and one lens, whereas normally I would use 3 cameras and 4 or 5 lenses the whole time. With the wind in the first half especially, it was still hard to keep the front of my lens dry, and as a result it certainly caused a few focusing errors.

These are some of my favorite photos...

That's my new desktop background at work.

Those are awesome, thanks.

Wish you would have included Fuente and Foster man hug. That was all respect for each other.

Did you use your Galaxy Note 7? I would assume the rain would help prevent the fire...

great pics, was hoping for a couple UNC surrender cobras...oh well!

haha i was definitely looking

They'd have to have actual fans in attendance for that to happen.

Usually you see surrender cobras out when they feel like they had a chance to win

The Key Play Eyepatch:

These are absolutely amazing photos. Well done, sir!!

Thank you! I photograph all the home football and basketball games for other clients, but I enjoy the opportunity to moonlight for TKP and focus specifically on Virginia Tech (versus covering both teams).

Fairly sure what's being done to that poor young man in blue is still illegal in many states.

This photo actually really confused me for the longest time.... I tried to boost the shadows in his facemask and still was seeing nothing.... Actually, I'm just now noticing for the first time that his helmet and chinstrap has been pushed up over his eyes!

Yeah the look on what you can see of his face is one of great pain. I am enjoying that in some small way. Schadenfreude.

Really great photo. Nice work!

"Don't go to, go through"

These are great! Glad you were able to capture the essence of just how wet it was on Saturday.

Btw, I'm in the front row of one of the fan shots at the end. I'd love to pay you for a high res digital copy if you'd be willing. Not looking to distribute or anything, just would love to make a print for my man cave.

Sorry for the delayed response. Which photo specifically?
