Notre Dame Tailgating Help

So it looks like the wife and I will be heading to the ND game with some friends. We're staying in Chicago and planning to drive to/from South Bend on game day. Any TKPers know the rules for parking at ND? Are there any buses running from Chicago that make for a better option? I know its getting late to be making plans so I'm hoping some better prepared person out there has already done the googling to figure this out.

You might want to check with the Chicago Hokies alumni association. The last I heard, they were planning on renting 7 buses, which all filled up, but I heard that they were adding an 8th to take to the game. That was a couple of weeks though, so I'm not sure if the extra would have sold out already. http://www.chicagohokies.org/

We have 400 Hokies and 8 Charter buses leaving Chicago at 8:30 AM to take over Southbend. I was told that they capped it and are no longer selling bus tickets, but am not 100% sure on that. We will be there by 10:30 AM to start pregaming for the 3:30 Kickoff and will be back in Chicago by 8:30 PM. I live in DC but am going with a large group of Hokies from the area. SHould be a good time, be sure to listen to he "Lets Go Hokies" chants on TV. I like our chances!

Pour some Beer on it

Looks like it's capped for now. Here is the response I got from the Chicago Alum chapter in case its helpful for others.

Unfortunately we already added an 8th bus, and don't have plans to add another. I'd add you to the wait list, but at this point there are already several people ahead of you and spots would only open with cancellations which we aren't expecting...some other Hokies have looked into the Irish Express bus, its more expensive, but includes drinks and breakfast (and ND fans), but is an option. The Amtrak goes out to South Bend, and then you just need to get a cab to campus.

I bought a parking pass from the ND ticket office.

How much?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Per their website, you can purchase parking passes today for $30 in two lots, one of which is far away but includes a shuttle. These same two lots can also be paid for at the gate. I too will be looking for a place to park for this game but might just keep my eyes on ebay for a disgruntled ND fan trying to offload a parking pass in objection to this season.

He's no good to me dead.

I got a white lot pass for $30 for the game. Supposedly there is a shuttle bus that will get us closer.
