so I guess we suck in dome games? Seriously totally flipped the script from prior weeks, our offense was listless our defense wore down and we missed field goals. it feels like, well the team from the last couple of years.

me after saturday
Good news is its Miami week, and what better way to cure all of our ills than take out our pent up anger on our rival. I'm going to try to keep this pretty brief!

after that performance thats about the best I've got to throw at them
Then theres the even better news, we're not in a dome anymore, seriously screw that place. I didn't even watch tech play in the 90s and I know two things; I hate playing at Pitt and I hate playing at Syracuse. Its like the bad mojo of the big east all over again. There is a chance of rain, however I think it holds off till LATE thursday and possibly early Friday. I'm trying to keep a close eye on it hence the lateness of the report. However the models are showing a low developing over Kentucky thursday morning which could certainly be bringing a cold front along with it. This could be through Thursday evening, however the composite euro (my typical model) has the rain holding off till friday morning. So really it comes down to which run of the model is correct, gut tells me the composite euro. If there is rain it will be pretty heavy

Regardless, there is a decent chance of rain this gameday. If there is rain I really like our odds it will be pretty heavy rain, so bring your ponchos regardless. if the cold front does sweep across the Blacksburg area expect up to a third of an inch of rain over the course of the game and possibly even some thunderstorms and heavy winds (up to 20 mph gusts). Keep an eye on the updates on this thread and ill try to keep everything up to date on the model runs.
Final forecast
high - 82
low - 60
Winds - little to none
Rain - I think it holds off
Cloud cover - 35%
GO HOKIES!!!!!!!

So, it's a great night for football. It's a bad night to sleep in a tent.
unless this system speeds up a little bit
I believe you are correct about the rain holding off. Our local weather here is not calling for any rain until Friday morning. I am in the far SW corner close to KY and TN lines.
NWS has it raining but I'm just not seeing it, still dont want to say it for sure wont happen because it could
You nailed it with Hurricane Matthew, even when NWS was saying something very different, so I'm going with this!
Although, I gotta say, this is about the wish-washiest post I have ever read :-)
Haha sorry but if you read the post below, its looking like we are going to get some very light showers in the pregame and the game. Im gonna be honest im way less focused on this than the hurricane its been a really busy couple of weeks with school so i cant do those heavy duty write-ups and analysis week in and week out
Somewhat unrelated but what are the leafs/colors looking like down in SW VA right now? There is no better stretch of fall driving then from Roanoke up to Blacksburg when the colors are at their peak.
Here in Richmond the leafs just started turning but I was hoping maybe SW VA had gotten a head start.
Here you go
Foliage Map
Mountains / Piedmont / Tidewater
Oct. 10 - 20 / Oct. 15 - 25 / Oct. 20-31
In Roanoke right now you can just notice the color.
This isn't too accurate this year, at least the Oct 10-20 area. Just now seeing some good colors. Lot of leaves are falling because it has been dry. Next week should be peak, if it cools down as forecasted.
It even says on their website that the warm weather has thrown the leaf colors off and this is a revision of a revision already.
Your Dome forecast was correct. Didn't necessarily feel hot but we were drinking lots of water. And it just looks dreary in there; it wasn't just the TV angles.
I was wondering about that because on tv it looked like, and this is a technical term, no judgement, a dark and dingy shit hole.
The "Behind the Scenes" segments did not improve my impression of the Dome either.
Yea an airlock?? WTF?
Inflated dome.
Need air pressure.
So does every fan go through the airlock?
If I remember correctly it's only certain areas where you need an airlock
There were a bunch of revolving doors to get in, like at a hotel or hospital. I think this makes up for the airlock.
On the way out it was normal doors, but we were blown outside like a wind tunnel. It was kind of fun. Like we were leaving a deflating balloon (which seemed appropriate at the time).
#Sauce - anecdotal.
So rain has been pushed up a little bit, we might get a light shower before the front passes through. Euro has us grabbing a tenth of an inch of rain which isnt enough to make it miserable no worries.
My money is still on no rain. Can't wait for the game!
Thank you Shibe!
