I'm not quite sure why they consider NC State's QB a rookie. He is a transfer from Boise State.
And not Evans, right.
Evans is precluded from Rookie of the Year because he's up for Offensive Player of the Year.
Especially since Jackson is going to get it and Watson will get lazy media and homer fan votes.
How is ben boulware on this list? That guy should have been kicked off the team. He's a scum bag on the field.
This is a weird thing to point out I guess, but I know him and his family. He's a good guy, he's an emotional player and maybe should have been called for a personal foul against Lamar, but kicked off the team is way overkill.
There are two games he should have been ejected from, no question. Passionate player, yes. That can be appreciated. There is a pattern that is being overlooked, however. He needs some form of time away from football.
Sounds like Ndamukong Suh. Maybe something about being on the field brings out the worst in him.
Should have been ejected from 2 consecutive games. Instead he's the ACC D player of the week for one of those games.
You're right, getting kicked off the team was hyperbole. It just really pisses me off that he continues to be praised as an emotional player after he continues to exhibit poor decision making in potentially very dangerous situations. Needs to sit out a game or two and maybe be away from the team for a bit. The safety of the opposing players, his own teammates, and himself is being overlooked.
Motu has been good but idk that I'd say he's been our best defensive player....
I thought the same thing. The whole defense has made plays this season. We don't have that one, standout mvp.
Guess it would look bad if it was listed as "VT: LPD."
For reference, Moto just played a great game, but the Edmunds bros and Woody Baron just swept ACC defensive players of the week honors.
If you're asking "of the year", it should be expanded to more candidates, considering we're only 7 games in.

Yeah... I'm not signing up for "news and note from the ACC" just to participate in a fan vote. Even using a fake email address, I still am opposed to the whole practice of selling email lists, and can't get myself to submit that.

Agreed. Every time I do anything on the internet anymore, this is what I have to do:
1) Type in website/search for site and click
2) Close ad so I don't have to look at it
3) Pause autoplay video so I don't have to hear it
4) Close late-popping ad
5) Tell them I don't want their newsletter
6) Throw tablet through wall
7) Retrieve tablet from neighbor's yard
8) Scroll past all of the banners and site navigation menus
9) Consume content! Yay!
and this is why ad-block is so popular (and yes I know the arguments against using it)
I got some adblock and I turn off plugins and still get trash all over the place.
Ditch adblock and install uBlock Origin.

Umm, isn't Ryan Finley a graduate transfer? How is that a "rookie"? Wouldn't Evans fit in that category too?
