Not sure if anyone else has been watching, yet, but man, what an interesting show, and I'd put it up there with Stranger Things for best new show of the year. Just caught up through all the episodes last night, and its already very much in the vein of LOST where you may think you know what's going on, but really, you have no idea.
Anyone else watching the show right now? What's the most interesting storyline you have so far, and do you have any theories on the overall story? Personally, I'm very, very curious about the maze and how that will play out over the next few weeks.

I'm watching in parts as school and baby allow me time. I wish they had gone full old story line and had different worlds besides old west.
I think they have hinted towards that in the most recent episode. There was a lunch between the Anthony Hopkins character and the woman boss at some place that looked like an Italian vista and proceeded to see them begin to tear it apart to rebuild for another set. To me, it was a bit of a confirmation that the wild west might only be a portion of the overall production set, so to speak.
If TREC could just make robots that look and function like those in Westworld it would be A mazing ! I'm enjoying this plot almost as much as the movie "Ex Machina". The real questions are when the machines will become (a) self aware and (b) smarter than us.
Loved Ex Machina. One of the better sci-fi movies to come out in a while imho. Definitely makes you think about possible consequences of artificial intelligence.
I'm still confused on which characters are robots lol
I think that's part of the point, haha.
Its filmed and cut in such a way to make that question a central part of the plot.
Been watching, been fascinated thus far. Good cast as always from HBO.
Can't say I have figured enough out yet to have any most interesting plot lines, nor do I have any theories, but that 4th episode scene with Anthony Hopkins and the older female executive was chilling. That was one of the coolest and most intimidating and just the most original monologues I have seen.
He replicates something from her past, something of comfort, and then wields hid godly powers to destroy it with ease. What a power move. I'm hooked.
The thing that gets me right now with the show.... who are the bad guys? I mean, honestly, I'm really not sure who the true baddies of this show are. Is it Anthony Hopkins after that power move? Is it the executives who apparently have a not yet explained agenda. Are the robots ability to turn on everyone going to be like "winter is coming" from GoT?
Who knows, there are a few potential conflicts already.

I'm watching the Ed Harris = John Locke comparison. You were never sure if Locke was in this for himself or the society or the purity of the thing. Harris is on a similar path.
I think it has been great so far! I never saw the original so I have nothing to go off of on that,but from what I have seen so far it seems like the storyline is really limitless which is quite intriguing to me.

You can watch the original but it won't give you much. The show passes the entire story of the movie in the first episode. The movie was pretty similar to Jurassic Park in that you have guests going to this new theme park that turns out to be pretty hazardous. There are some references to the movie in the show but for now they're not interconnected.
The way I interpret it so far is that the new Westworld seems to be very much in line with what Jurassic World is to Jurassic Park. I want to say the movie took place in the same world, and that the references to the last "major malfunction" from the first couple episodes are a reference to it.
man that's how I felt after a certain game two weeks ago....but I digress.
I need to rewatch episode 3 and then watch 4....or 2 then three 3. Whatever the latest is I've been DVR'ing it either way.
I'll admit - I'm obsessed already. So many little plot lines and conspiracy theories I've been turning over in my head.
One of the most interesting ones out there so far, that I've sorta had a feeling for since episode one (I even mentioned it to my wife), is whether or not Bernard is a 'host' or not. He's just so 'in-tune' with the hosts, it's hard to tell whether or not it's because his empathy and understanding of their architecture is leaps and bounds beyond everybody else's... or if his knowledge is so intimate due to the fact that he himself is a host. Who better to understand the machinations of a host than another host?
Also? Thandie Newton was brilliant in her role as Maeve this past episode; everybody in this show is strong - Harris, Hopkins (of course), just everybody.
Kind of a neat aside in terms of the original Westworld movie. One of the programmers of the park in that movie makes a quote, and I am paraphrasing here, that a lot of the robots are designed and built by other robots, so the humans don't even completely understand how they work now.
Could be a neat little clue to Bernard's nature.
For starters, the intro credits sequence is one of my favorite on TV since...well since Stranger Things. Fantastic piece of piano music, and the visuals are thought provoking.
for me what has been the most interesting plot lines involve:
Ford (Hopkins character). He has been set up as a bit of a psychopath, able to identify and exploit another's weakness with ease. "All for the good of the park" type mentality. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is some other (perhaps more altruistic motive) going on there. I think we would all agree as well that the teenager with the vest that he talks to in the park while walking towards that weird shrine in the desert was a robot of himself as a young kid, right?
Bernard - the head of programming. I seriously think that this guy is also a robot, and Ford maybe designed him as some type of experiment to see what he would do, specifically in his interactions and interest in Dolores. Remember we saw that Pyramid of Consciousness that they were talking about, but never revealed what the top of the pyramid is. I get this odd feeling that Bernard is something Ford designed to push that last level (i.e. robots helping other robots - thus creating their overall purpose and consciousness)
I felt this already but the last episode when Dolores said she didn't want to forget the painful memories of losing her parents because that was all she had left of them. Bernard asks her why she answered that way, and she mentions it was a improvisation from a scripted response she was given. If you remember, when Bernard was having the video conference with his wife, he said literally the exact same thing about his son, that the pain was all that he had left of him. Did Dolores say that because Bernard programmed that type of response, or did they both say it because both of them has been programmed with similar possible responses.
I'm not smart enough for this show.
I'm totally aboard the 'Bernard-is-a-host' train with you, for sure. Really good points there, especially with the correlation between Dolores' response to Bernard as compared to that video chat he was having. When she said all that during the opening to the last episode, it hit me like a truck when I realized how eerily similar it was to his own prior statements.
The show is brilliant! I do find myself going down a lost-esque reddit hole every week as soon as the show ends. I believe this show could pay off better than Lost when it's finished. I read they are already signed on for five seasons. I also subscribe to the Bernard = Host theory.
I like the show, but I find the landscapes in which it's filmed more interesting. I know the Moab area pretty well, and try to figure out where each scene is filmed. The area northeast of Moab (Professor Valley) seems to be a popular one, as is the Potash Road below the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands.
For fun, if you are really digging the show and you have never played Red Dead Redemption, I would suggest picking up a copy. (probably can get a copy for $5 on XBox) Awesome game in its own right, but my wife is probably sick of how many times I mention that game while watching this show.
been meaning to get into that, and now that RDR2 has been announced, I should give it a try. Then again, I may just wait for the remastered version to hit PS4 before they release the sequel (because you know they will).
then again, I still need to get through Last of Us, Doom, and Fallout 4... oh, and there's the new Tomb Raider for PS4... *sigh*
I think 've had the original RDR since its release, and I still play it from time to time once Microsoft got around to putting in backwards compatability for it. The graphics still hold up pretty well, and the gameplay is better than 99% of what is out there these days, so I would say its worth just grabbing.
I would say it was probably my favorite game off all time right up until I bought Witcher 3. But as I watch this show, it gives of a very "Red Dead" vibe, in terms of artificial characters living their own interesting stories in a fully realized Western world, and the ability of a player to interject themselves into them.
I'd bet Rockstar doesn't put out a remaster. I can't think of a single game that they have actually remastered as opposed to ported. Also, RDR just came out on PS Now so I think that's the best we are going to get.
P.S. Play the Last of Us first.
Yeah, I'm plodding along through Last of Us off and on... Not really sure how far I am into the game, but I've only heard good things, and I've been entertained.
I thought it was just about naked robots. That's why I'm watching.
My big question is who is Arnold and what are his whereabouts? He's been mentioned an increasing amount in each of the last 2 or 3 episodes. My guess is that it's related to the picture that Dolores's dad found in episode 1 (?).
Most interesting theory I've heard/read is that there's actually two different time lines going on - Ed Harris's story line is going on at a different time than Jimmi Simpson's; so it's possible that Ed Harris's character and Jimmi's character are the same person, just at different points in their lives. Still leaves so many unanswered questions.

Woah, that makes a lot of sense now that I think about it
If you pay attention to the scenes with William (Jimmi Simpson's character), the "Westworld" logos that show up at the train station he arrives at and as he is getting ready to enter the park are different than the Westworld logos that show up in the scenes with Bernard, Ford, and the other programming and executive characters.
Now maybe they just have different logos in different spots, but it seems like a hint that the timing is different. Almost like they had a "rebranding" effort...which would make sense after some tragedy happened at the park "30 years ago" as the Man in Black mentions in the first episode.
Another one that's easy to miss, the Maeve character (Thandie Newton) does not appear in any scenes to this point that have the two friends in them. The other prostitute (Clementine) seems to be in the madam role when we see her in William's scene. And the programming team clearly says that her character can fill in for Maeve while they are repairing her because "She has done the job before"
Good eye, and I think there actually is something to this, because as you'll see in the 2nd picture, they changed the background logo for the episode teaser image on the HBO App...
Also worth noting the logo in the first image is the official logo for the TV show, so it certainly appears that the William portion is a backstory.
I watch the show but just like GOT I can't keep track of all the actor/character names/backstories or their interwoven storylines.
Another week, another dope Anthony Hopkins scene. "No. I wouldn't say friends, Dolores. I wouldn't say that at all."
Need some time to digest that episode as I watched it after the Eagles blew it last night.
2 fantastic scenes with Hopkins. The conversation with Dolores (and I will say right up front I liked the touch to have him speak with her as she was totally nude, as all the other employees have done when dealing directly with the hosts EXCEPT Bernard)
And his conversation with MiB. Two actors at the top of their game in that one. I think that Ford's ability to just stop all of the robots and the goings on in Westworld without making any type of verbal command is really really interesting. I think there is something to the idea that he and Arnold either programmed an ability or are somewhat "computer" themselves to be able to do that.
A few thoughts
1. I'm very intrigued by the show, but not yet hooked. There's a lot going on and I think HBO was the right choice to bring this to life
2. The opening sequence reminds me a lot of the Daredevil opening sequence as well as the opening sequence to The Night Manager. Either that, or everyone is trying to win that "opening title" emmy by using piano music and crazy visuals.

So tonight pretty much confirmed that the show takes place after the events of the movie. In the background when Bernard was down in B82 it very clearly had the Gunslinger character that was played by Yul Brynner in the movie. Wonder if the back story plotline plays into the movie as well.

Caught that. Pretty sure now the incident from 30 years ago that the MiB mentions in the pilot is him referencing the movie directly at this point.
Also thought it was pretty interesting that the one jerk technician made the comment about running an "orbital launch station" to Maeve. A lot of theories about Westworld being somewhere other than Earth, and it seems like a really odd thing for that guy to pull that out as an example otherwise.
Yeah, very interesting... I actually didn't catch that, but there was a lot going on in that scene.
I'm curious on the backstory that involves William right now. Seeing the Gunslinger in the background and all the references to the malfunction the MiB said he helped stop way back when... I'm wondering if we're going to see that backstory plot tie directly into the events of the movie, if not actually trying to bring some of those characters in for some late episodes.
I gotta say for a massive advanced company why is their storage of old models so haphazard?
In last night's episode, it seemed that Ford was recreating his family with some of the original models created by Anthony (which now live sort of off the more modern electronic grid). For some reason I also got the feeling that Anthony (his old partner who supposedly committed suicide) might have been his brother (but I can't remember Ford's exact words that made me feel that way). Can anyone else with a better memory contribute here ?
The interpretation I got was that Anthony created Ford's family as a gift for Ford. Though, of course, the true intentions of it are to be seen later on.
Yes I also got the impression that Arnold and Ford were brothers too.
Ford called the one kid "Robert" which is his first name, and that scene earlier in the season where they were walking in the desert together it felt like the kid was supposed to be a younger him.
I think that's why we dIdnt hear the name of the other boy in the house last night. Would not be surprised at all if we here Ford call him Arnold at some point.

Yeah, in hindsight it was pretty obvious, but I was hoping all that speculation was wrong.
I don't know if anyone caught the show Dollhouse about 6 years ago on FOX with Eliza Dushku. There's a few similarities between that show and Westworld, and I just hope that Westworld avoids going down the path that Dollhouse did where they seemingly had everyone revealed to be a part of that spoiler by the end.
But that being said, that was one impressive scene. As soon as he said "What door" I knew some shit was about to go down.
Yeah the What door? line right after he said that the hosts in the park were programmed not to see that house in the first place.
Really good scene, and I thought they hinted at it appropriately without beating you over the head with it, so the reveal made a lot of sense.

OK, I'm late to the party, but this was the first episode I saw.
Since then, though, I watched the rest of the series. It was jolly good.
I like this show because it moves more quickly than Game of Thrones. Almost feels like every episode of WW gives us major plot developments, where GoT spends an entire season building up to one moment. I remember watching 4 or 5 episodes of GoT this past season where I didnt think anything actually happened or at least I didn't learn anything new.
WW Ep 7 ending: Ford definitely set this up to kill her in that basement, as he was already creating the host version of her to go back and do his bidding in the office. Makes you wonder how many other employees he's taken control of.

After the revelation that Bernard is a robot I'm beginning to wonder if he contains Arnold's personality and "being" so to speak. Am also beginning to wonder if Ford himself may have been a creation of Arnold who became self aware and killed Arnold. There could be a lot of interesting twists but it's pretty evident that someone wants a community of more sentient beings. Thoughts or predictions ?
Ford being a host is a very interesting proposition, though one that would close up a few gaps, such as how he's able to control all hosts with his mind. If he was a part of that hive mind, it would make sense...
I asked this last night and couldn't get an answer on social media: when the whores and drinkers start each morning in the brothel it's the same day. Does that mean each day is exactly the same unless a host is dealing directly with a guest? If so that would get boring as a guest.
I would think there are ripple effects based on what the guests are doing where interactions vary greatly over the course of the day based on which hosts are occupied by a guest. The days may start off similar, but within the first hour or so, I'm sure they change up quite a bit.
I also think I remember hearing earlier in the season that the hosts go on a 1 week loop unless they are somehow damaged or killed? I'm assuming the hosts in the brother need frequent cleaning, if you know what I mean.

We've seen that there are some storylines that take multiple days, specifically the one that William is currently on.
So it seems that for the hosts every day starts the exact same until a guest interacts with them in a specific way that prompts a storyline to "unlock" so to speak. And it seems that once that occurs the entire park might change in some way for all the guests.
We have also seen a few people that have visited multiple times. I would imagine there are a lot of different paths these stories can take, even for the quick interactions
I thought that they change the narratives from time to time, and upgrading the hosts' code to reflect those changes, as well as the "DNA" of the hosts (if you will). They also introduce new hosts and retire old ones as the narratives change, in order to keep things fresh for returning guests such as the Man In Black. That's my take, anyway.
Well, I will say this about Westworld, at least it answers some things in course, but man do they like messing with everyone's head otherwise.
Another pretty revealing episode. The confirmation that Bernard killed Elsie was nice, and to really see the full scope of Ford's god complex. Also a bit of background on MiB. I really enjoyed the entire Wyatt part of the storyline, and I am beginning to wonder if Teddy = Wyatt A lot of little hints in that direction.
The jumping around in time is getting pretty tricky to follow, but I am beginning to wonder if Delores if kind of the original "Arnold Agent" if you will, which would explain the MiBs interest in her.
I got all caught up last night, including the most recent episode. Let me start by saying I am real fan of this show, very thrilling 1st season with 1 episode to go.
Arnold Weber --> Bernard Lowe - I should have taken a look at that anagram a few weeks ago. Jeffrey Wright should win some kind of award, he has been excellent.
I am still very intrigued in how the Delores and William/MiB story will turn out. We have seen the snapshots of two different timelines, one of new infatuation and the other of fear of the MiB. It will be interesting to see how he takes shape.
I figure, he at least kills Logan, blames it on the park (circa that accident we keep hearing about),meets a young ford in the process and somehow winds up as one of the heads of the company purchasing Westworld. Maybe he stills marries Logan's sister, considering his rant to Teddy about his life in the real world.
Hmm... The feeling I got last night is that we're about to see Delores murder the shit out of Logan next week in the Season Finale. Logan said earlier this season that they were in talks of purchasing the whole company, and then we had the scene with the MiB last night that at the very least revealed he is a very powerful member on the Board, if not the outright owner of Delos. I'm guessing Delores offs Logan, and whatever switch flipped in William's mind causes him to end up replacing him and buying the company after the fact.
Oh, and maybe its just me, but does the old town that Delores keeps going back to in her memories very reminiscent of the town in the movie? Same set?
Oh, and one other thing... Is the MiB plot even the "current" time? The reason I ask is that every so often throughout the season, we see the buried church steeple, especially last week when we see Delores glitching out walking to the downtown, only to come to her senses and see it all buried.... That was in the past with William, but then last night we see the MiB enter the church at the end, which would put that timeline beforehand, wouldn't it? Unless Delores is able to sense present, past, and future all at once with her glitching, which would be.... an interesting development.
Oh, and my prediction for final plot twist at the end of the season.... Ford implemented the Maze to weed out the sentient hosts. The reason he did so is because, as OldCorpse predicted above, he himself is a host who gained sentience from whatever programming Arnold put in him way back when, only to create Bernard to replace Arnold once he was dealt with. This is why Ford can control every host with his mind, because he's a part of the hive himself.
Forget which character it was, but 2 episodes or so ago they made mention to Ford digging out an old town for his new narrative. And we see the giant earthmovers working that he shows Teresa. Not sure on the whole timeline, but possible the town was above ground when we see the glitch back to Delores shooting up the joint, was buried (when Ford shows Bernard), and then dug back out by the time the MiB is doing his thing.
I think its extremely likely at this point we are watching 2, if not 3 (and maybe more) different timeframes. The reveal of the Times Square picture to William, and obvious aging of it before Abernathy finds it in the first episode more or less confirmed it to me. The fact that the farm was a spot that MiB frequented (Dolores farms), also leads me to believe they are the same person, and gives us the timeline as stated above:
Dolores goes nuts, kills a ton of hosts. Logan is also killed.
William goes on to marry the sister anyway, his company stays involved with the purchase/being on the board of Delos.
The wife dies, leading MiB down the dark path he seems to be on. This is when he observes Maeve being "alive", and maybe drives his obsession even further to find out whats going on at the park.
He becomes obsessed with Dolores/what happened to cause that and leads us to where we are now with his search for the Maze.
I was also convinced that there are some hints that Teddy=Wyatt. But after last nights episode, I start to wonder if Dolores might actually be the one that kills "everyone" and some hosts keep her in their programming as a "cornerstone" and Ford uses that to build the Wyatt narrative, to further his own goals.
Ahh good catch, ok that makes sense. I wonder if we're watching 2 timelines with the MiB, because this week he was just informed that Teresa was killed, and it was over lunch with Teresa a few episodes back that the earthmovers were revealed. Unless he had already dug up the town before then and restored it to the previous version. Otherwise, that's a real quick timeline between Ford's lunch with Teresa, his drink with the MiB, and the town being dug out and restored.
Yes, its unrealistic, and stupid. Camera tricks and editing to only trick the audience into the timeframe twist was cheap imo.
MiB is only in one time frame.
I haven't rewatched the promo yet, but its very likely Dolores is already dead in that timeline. She runs off with the stab wound in her stomach, and the vision she had when she was alone (But thought she was with William), by the riverbed, was likely the result of logan stabbing her.
Yes it is the current timeline. It was mentioned a few times over the past couple episodes that Ford "Dug up" the old town, and most likely had it restored.
Timeframes would go something like this:
34 Years ago: Town is used for tinkering and finalizing Hosts
30 Years ago: Town is burried when William and Dolores arrive (Which I find stupid for a couple reasons, but whatever)
Present: Ford dug up and restored town (maze), and MiB is there with Dolores.

I havn't thought this much about a show after each episode in quite some time (maybe since Lost?)
Don't get me wrong, I love Game of Thrones, but having read all the books before Season 2 started there really wasn't much theory going on until we hit uncharted territory.
I do think the show requires quite a bit of suspension of disbelief, but I'm ok with that because the acting is good and the characters interest me.
The acting is good. Good actors are like good referees, if you don't notice them, it's good.

I am wondering what kind of problem is going to come from trying to smuggle info out in the old abernathy host.
New theory I just read that is interesting... The whole Maeve plot this year is the new "storyline" that Ford has introduced in secret, with both Felix and Sylvester being hosts as well. Ford is setting her up to slaughter the Delos board at a later date and time.
The one thing that gets me about Bernard is that they speak about him having been there a long time, yet it doesn't seem he aged at all, which is the dead giveaway of a host, they never age. I hadn't thought about it until someone above mentioned the possibility of Ford being a host, but they have shown him many times as younger. So how did no one working there pick up on Bernard never aging?
give the episode another watch, ford didnt look much younger than he currently does when bernard was finished, he may have been there for a bit but not to long and definitely not as long as ford or even close

We've only been following 1 timeline. Yup. We've been following 1 timeline the whole time. You just didn't notice it, and neither did Dolores.
After the reveries were implemented (purposefully, by Ford), we start getting these alternate timelines. But the reveries are just supposed to make the hosts remember past lives. When the hosts remember, the literally "re-live" the memories instead of just vaguely remembering them.
Dolores has been following her one timeline (her "path"), but has been having flashbacks, re-living past lives. When we see Dolores in the William timeline, we often see her trip out for a few seconds. Sometimes these show past versions of herself dead, showing that she got this far in the maze before but hit a literal "dead end." Sometimes we see Dolores remember things that are obviously in the past, like the Wyatt massacre.
STILL OTHER TIMES though, we see Dolores more or less doing the same thing that she's doing with William, except that William isn't there.
THIS is when we see Dolores as she is, in the present. She is mirroring the path she took with William to bring her to the center of the maze (the Wyatt massacre town) in order to assume the mantle of "Wyatt" and become the villain that Ford knows she can be.
She has been flashing back to William's timeline, literally retracing her steps to arrive back at the town, and it's been right under our noses the whole time. Ford intended this through the reveries, as he always intended to implement this Wyatt storyline.
And remember, there's a path for everyone, and Teddy's path always leads him back to Dolores.
Also We see Delores sitting with Who we thought was Bernard in the very beginning of the show in the blue outfit where she tells him she is remembering things except that isn't Bernard it's Arnold and shortly there after she kills the fly on her neck. She is the rogue robot who kills in the maze leading to the in incident.
Give that man a cigar. He may be right about the timelines. Alternate time lines are only hosts who have somehow developed the memories we see in flashbacks as they think about them.
I dont think they're alternate timelines or universes, theres obviously overlap I think you can basically split it into 3 maybe 4 lines
Line one - 34+ years ago - very basic robot programming and arnold working in secret with delores in the sessions we see with him discussing her humanistic traits and qualities, eventually he sends her to the maze.
line two - 34 years ago Delores kills arnold in the town massacre. We've already seen Teddy mistake people for soldiers in his flashback with the blonde lady in the last episode. Who do you think the general was? What person of authority might that represent? They obviously made a point to show it, and I believe that was Arnold. However I believe this was Arnold's intent to be shot and killed by Delores to bring the park down and make her sentient through traumatic memories. Ford begins building Bernard
Line 3 - 30 years ago William comes to the park, with his buddy (whose name i can never remember I just call him future brother in law) William becomes fascinated by Delores, then realizes that she might have a little more going on than the average host. William completely snaps when brother in law cuts open Delores (although frankly he was showing signs prior to that) and slaughters everyone and threatens his friend. I believe Delores will kill brother in law in the next episode. William being completely fascinated and enthralled by Delores will bail out the park after becoming owner of the company that his future brother in law owns(seeing as his brother in law owner friend is dead) and marry the sister (whose picture was left in the dirt consequently). Bernard is finished at some point around here
Current time line - Ford wants to make his ultimate plot line, Delores' father recovers William's wife's picture. William's wife finds out that her brother died at the hands of Delores somehow and kills herself. William becomes the man in black, starts doing twisted things and realizes the hosts start remembering things after traumatic events. I think Delores is Ford's ultimate bad guy (Wyatt) and Teddy is remembering the massacre event as some guy rather than Delores. Teddy always leads to Delores, and something epic happens and ultimately I think Teddy kills Delores somehow. Still not sure how Maeve plays out in all of this but given how Ford is 5 steps ahead of everybody it wouldn't shock me if that was his plan all along and the two coders that created Maeve the monster were hosts all along. I think Maeve knocks out that other chick from the board and everyone leaves Ford to his business.
I'm think the Maeve plot line is Fords newest storyline for the park since it seems to have gone a little stale. What more thrilling of a storyline then having you feel like the hosts are staging an uprising?
Does anyone else have problems sleeping after this show? It's like my subconscious robot self is trying to keep my conscious fake human self awake to warn of my own mechanical infrastructure.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that ending was intense! Even with so many theories confirmed it still manages to surprise.

One of the better season finales I can remember for a show in awhile.
Answered a ton of stuff, and introduced some great new "narratives" for next year. Kudos to whoever called it that Maeve's whole revolution was actually something programmed to happen.
Also, does anyone think that the host we saw Ford creating in the secret office was actually a version of him (I.e. The kind that could take a bullet to the back of the head in front of a crowd)
You beat me to the punch on the Ford version of himself because I was wondering how West World could possibly survive for a season 2 and 3 (it's been extended for two years) without some version of Ford being around.
I'm wondering if there will be manufactured versions of the board members and guests going back into the real world to avoid problems that might be generated if attempts were made to shut the park down. All kinds of interesting implications here for season 2. Will miss William and the man in black. They may need to make a version of him to keep the money flowing to the park's finances.
William/MiB will be back next season. I believe Ed Harris was already contracted for season 2.

I think there's a big point to be made above... We never saw what that new host was for that was being created in secret... I think its pretty good to think that's Ford creating a host of himself to get off'd.
Just watched, awesome. I think Old Corps is right, all the attendees at the dinner are about to have hosts made of them to send out. I'd also like to see some of the other worlds next season.
Loved the reveal of the other worlds, and the tech simply saying "it's complicated"
I like that they saved the reveal of the "real world" as well, which I think offers future stories for the show.

Just watched the finale tonight (only one I watched delayed) and read this thread. Kudos to those of you that called a lot of the twists. The finale still added some great stuff for the next season. HBO got its mojo back with another hit drama imo

Sooooo been avoiding this thread like a plague till i finished the season. Finished it last night - faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! What an awesome show!
It is up there with GOT for me....it has made me less and less excited for Walking Dead though. I think I like that WestWorld didn't have many slow episodes to where I felt like the story wasn't pushed forward in some way.
Westworld had a few slow episodes in terms of story development, but the world building done in those was top notch, so I really didn't mind them.
I thought all told, the build up and payoff for Westworld was really excellent for the first season.
TWD is in its 7th season though. I remember GOT and TWD being just as exciting in the first season too. I'm optimistic about TWD picking up now!
