Also heard it against BC, at the right tempo, but without the word or hand motions. I was the only one in my section who subconsciously recognized it and just shouted Stick It In Stick It In Stick It In at the right time. Got a high five, several smiles and a "I Can't believe they're playing it" from those around me.

From past experience, the drumline has always had a drum cadence that sounds familiar but not quite exactly the original Stick It In in the hopes that the students will pick up on it. Will try to confirm with people I know in the band if the original made an appearance, or if it was another new one.

Screaming at officials all night over perceived slights when in fact the refs were missing a lot of calls in his favor. Constantly running onto the field, up and down the sidelines, etc. Acting like a complete clown.

He behaved like a child all night. Throwing everything and screaming on every perceivable occasion. Complained about officiating in his halftime interview. Really showed his ass. Very nice to see Fuente calm and collected on our sideline. Nothing wrong with emotion but Narduzzi crossed the line several times tonight.

Fuente's going to be in his head like Foster is for Paul Johnson. I am liking where this matchup will go over the next few years. No doubt I am going to be in Blacksburg for this one next year.

This is like picking between my kids. Tyrod had to shoulder more of the load on offense, but Evans stepped into the D1 level with a summer to get a new offense and is in complete control. And still has the rest of this season and next to cement his legacy at Vt.
Let's say this: Vick is the Dad, Tyrod and Evans are the twin boys

I wonder if we will hear anything about that incredibly inconsistent PI officiating this week. At this point I don't really care, but it would be nice to see someone say "hey, this was terrible and we will try not to let this happen again"

He cant call out Franklin for making excuses and do the same thing when things don't go his way. He already made a fool of himself on the sideline with his behavior and now with this he is getting rightly slammed on twitter.
I have no problem with the physicality by the Tech receivers. They were getting held all night by our DBs so it goes both ways. They are very adept at creating space for themselves and I don't thing what they did was that illegal anyway
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Eh, I thought we could still do it if we were passing and keeping the defense honest. However in the second quarter it was clear they were not giving up stopping the run. The thing that killed me was how they were obviously protecting the run up the middle during the red zone always and we kept doing it because we succeeded once during the drive.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Understand where you're coming from but the offense racked up over 500 yards of offense and 39 points. Really not a lot to be concerned about. That's one of the most dominant run defenses in the nation yet we still managed to go well over their average yardage allowed in that category. We consistently attacked their poor DB play with passes down the field. We struggled in the red zone, yes, but that's extremely fixable. That not to great shovel pass stuff, which I think was a wrinkle off the speed option (which has been our most successful running play), would probably work against basically anyone else on our schedule. Pitt is a pretty dang good team. 2 of their 3 losses have been by 3 or less points. And the other one was by a touchdown in a shootout.

There was knot in my stomach the entire game. We won and its still there. That's how much of a sack of nerves I was throughout this game. Thank God we won that game and thank God for making Hodges and Ford absolute man beasts.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I am relieved that the game is over and we won, but it should have been by a far larger margin. Bud was almost playing to lose at times. Gave up over 458 yards to Pitt, about their average. Conner abused us all night.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Connor is one of the best RBs in the nation, if not the best. Their Oline was huge and pissed with Narduzzi insanity. We got some key stops when needed, but it's not like they were chumps.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
conor had only averaged over 5 ypc (5.3) in one game all season. he averaged almost 8 against us. great story, but he's not close to being the best RB in college this year.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
You can only defend so much of the field. If you're taking away the jet sweep that up to then was Pitts explosive play, then you need your DL to make plays against a tough OL.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
have to agree with this. connner got off yes (and honestly watching him play shesh he is a MAN! he gained yards after 1st contact every single time and broke 3 or 4 tackles on some plays that ended up only being 2-4 yard gains) but quadry Henderson averages 10 yrds a carry and has 350 rushing yards on the season had 5 rushes for -4 yards. that is HUGE! specially after watching the film review of pitt. that Pitt team has scored more than 30 7 games in a row.... for a reason. I thought D made enough plays to win us the game. created turnovers, several 3 and outs at key times, and kept us good field position for most of the game when we didn't give up points. yeah the O carried the load buttttt had they carried it better in the 1st half with all the redzone trips pitt would have been forced to throw conner would have been moot and Bud would have dominated them with blitz and different coverage looks as it was this was a TEAM win. all parts stepped up and made plays when they needed too.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Connor is special and is going to get his yards. Other than the 2 breakdowns to the TE, D played pretty well until the last TD drive. Their OL is legit and did not let us get much pass rush.
On their last drive, looked like we got soft and played like vs. Syracuse.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
This. Don't underestimate the value of those extra rest days, especially when teams are this evenly matched. Add in the fact that we are banged up right now (Ekanible and Vinny were both "playing with one arm" as Bud put it) and its no wonder it was a dog fight. That said getting a few more TDs instead of field goals early could have completely changed the tenor of this game but I'm not complaining over any win.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
We couldn't get pressure and they were able to pass inside and outside the pocket. Refs basically decided to ignore PI by the end of the 3rd qtr. It wasn't one of Foster's best but Pitt's offense deserves some credit too. They can beat you in multiple ways. But, not us, not tonight, and that is what matters.

I said it in the game thread, but it bears repeating: I'm not sure exactly what happened to Evans' ankle, but I'm pretty sure that injury was caused by his gigantic titanium balls slamming into his leg.
Suck it Pitt. There's something you should eat now.

I just roughly calculated my annual cost per hour for TKP at $0.38. I figured I spend about 220 hours a year ( 60 minutes a day for 5 months and 20 minutes a day the other 7). Pretty small investment for the best Tech website and online community around. I don't know what I'm going to do if we don't get enough members and drastic changes need to be made. Everyone....JOIN!

Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
As far as Narduzzi's actions, I was fine with it on the field; you need to give your team every advantage they can - putting a ref in a difficult spot is a pretty smart move IMO. Honestly, I was a little pissed that Fuente/Foster weren't doing the same thing. When Narduzzi took it into the post game meeting, that's where I thought he crossed the line. At that point, the game was over, and he was just being a sore loser.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I think he hears enough about the NFL that he goes and gets drafted fairly high. RB's career's are short enough as is, get your money James. I never want to see you against my Hokies again.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
concurred, Nerdzuki seemed to be getting bent out of shape a LITTLE too much, as if playing some kind of part in a play -especially (as I thought it was a fair assessment from Mr. Palmer) when it was stated, "...it's as if Pitt's DBs are just daring the refs to make the call on every play." -even chuckling toward the end of the game on the contact and intimate relations the DBs were having with the Hokie receiving corps...
hell, I was seeing some liberal use of the hands on the line as well -even from THEIR D line...
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
LOL. Maybe teach your DBs how to knock down a pass instead of grabbing the receiver and you won't have to cry like a little baby every play. What a loser.

Did we throw a pass in which Pitt DB's DIDN'T have a fist full of our jerseys?
I admittedly haven't watched any other Pitt games this year, but after last night it seems clear that he's teaching the Seahawks style of defense: commit a foul on every single play and dare the refs to call it. Like someone else said here, I had a lot of respect for him when he was the DC for Sparty. In just one game he lost absolutely 100% of that respect, and it's been replaced with the kind of contempt I generally reserve for Paul Johnson.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
They call pass interference correctly and we win this game by 17, minimum. Those refs are an embarrassment to college football. And Doozie is a clown.
But fuck it, were in first place of the Coastal and murderers row is behind us. The team that nobody thought had a legit chance in this division just purple stamped the 3 favorites. Damn it feels good to be a Hokie.

Pat Narduzzi on VT WRs: "They did a great job pushing off all night. Give them credit for that."β Chris Peak (@PantherLair) October 28, 2016
#Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi just said on postgame show that refs "seemed to be enjoying themselves" and that officiating was "one-sided."β Josh Rowntree (@JRown32) October 28, 2016
Pat Narduzzi is a complete moron.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
He is right, the officiating was very one sided, but the officials did have to call a couple penalties against Pitt tonight, they couldn't show too much favoritism.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
His secondary has sucked all year and the same rang true tonight. So what does he do about it? Cries every play and then blames the other team's receivers after the game. Maybe take some accountability and the secondary will improve.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Oh absolutely. Clutching and grabbing in the defensive secondary is exactly how he had his defenses playing at Michigan St. He knows the talent is a weakness, so he basically instructs the team to do this all game, knowing the refs would get roasted if they were to call them on it every time they did it.
Its a bullshit tactic, but it works.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I'll concede that Ford and Bucky were both getting away with some push-offs all night, but to harp on this when your DB's are grabbing fist fulls of jersey all night is completely asinine. That, coupled with his sideline buffoonery has shredded any respect I may have ever had for the guy. Bush League.

To show you how classy our players are, Mike Burnopp just threw up a lob to Cam Phillips on the post game show on how many DPIs were missed - and the kid said they never expect the flag and they are taught to play through them. Didn't say a negative thing at all in regards to the officiating.
FYI, Isaiah says the same thing. Kudos to both of those kids.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Ford, Bucky and CP5 all had over 100 yards receiving. I know there has been talk of Evans not being a down the field passing threat but I thought he looked great throwing outside fades all night. Incredible game/gutsy performance by him!
Joey Slye is $$$.
Very proud of this team for winning a game that over the past several years would have lost, especially with how terrible the refs were.

Y'all. This team just doesn't give up. There were many things about this game that made me scratch my head. The repeated runs into the line. Their DBs committing highway robbery on our WRs and getting away with it for the majority of the game. But I'm not gonna talk about that. I'm gonna talk about how Isaiah Ford doesn't give up. Cam Phillips doesn't give up. Bucky Hodges doesn't give up. Jerod Evans doesn't fucking give up. Brenden Motley Doesn't. Give. Up.
This team came of age tonight. And we're firmly in the Coastal driver's seat.

Can we do hating on Zac Roper? He was Duke's ST coach last year and OC this year. He proceeded to take multiple bows to our fans after they won last year.

To reiterate what everyone else is saying, next week's hatin' on thread should instead be geared toward comparing Coach Cut and Narduzzi. Cut has class, Narduzzi don't. Should be a good time.

Love the fact our coaches adjusted to what they were doing. And now we know Nardouchy won't ever adjust, so just find their weaknesses in film and exploit from the start next year.

Just got back from the game. I shat bricks the entire time but got to witness the end of The Ketchup Curse and the first Hokies victory since 1999. The jersey grabs everyone's talking about weren't really noticeable from the stands. It was easy to tell that Narduzzi was acting like an ass, though.
Was a pretty ugly game but the boys pulled through, showed some grit.
I'm drunk and Pitt can suck it.

I know it has already been said multiple times in this thread but fuck Narduzzi. Is that guy fuckin serious? Ford and Bucky basically piggy backed dbs all over the field tonight with no call and he flips a shit over the smallest shit. I'm very happy with a win. But more importantly, I'm happy that win or lose I can be proud of how our players and coaches (while extremely passionate) know how to not embarrass their program in front of a national audience. Go Hokies.

Here's a sensible Pitt fan in an otherwise mostly delusional post-game thread:
Not Narduzzis finest moment, and he spent half the game raving like a lunatic just to make it worse. Meanwhile his corners could have been called for PI on every single pass play.
Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact that no one on TKP has back-and-forth consisting of "Idiotic statement" - "No you're an idiot" - "No YOU'RE AN IDIOT"
Good grief.

Can we get the gif of Jerod stepping into the huddle before that 3rd and 1 at the end of the game and screaming at his guys to fight with everything they had for that yard?
Because that was awesome. Also I don't know that that's exactly what he was saying but that's what I imagined.

Jerod Evans played with enough heart for the rest of the team tonight. What a performance. This is a game we normally lose in the past. It was ugly and we did our best to keep PITT in it, but at the end of the night: 6-2.

Since I went to be halfway through the third quarter, I'll have to go back this weekend and watch the fourth, if only to see what Motley did to deserve so much recognition.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
After Evans injured his ankle, Motley came in and led the team right down the field for the go-ahead FG. For a running game that was struggling at best, he was able to pick up about 4-6 yards per carry and really put the team on his back to get us the win. Oh, and he put up a great pass to Bucky on the FG drive that should have been a TD, but Bucky bungled the catch in one of his few rare misses on the day. And then, with the game on the line late, and Evans unable to run because of the ankle, Motley comes in on 1st and 10 with 2:30 left and Pitt with all 3 timeouts. On second and 8 he carries for an unbelievable 7 yards, putting us close enough to give Phillips all he needed when he picked up the 1st down by about 4 inches. Game, blouses.
If the staff decides to rest Evans for the Duke game, I have all the faith in the world that we're more than OK with Motley behind center.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Hey, any thoughts on the end of game sequence? I get that traditional victory formation might be a risk on the exchange with Motley in the game, but why take the shotgun snap and actually run a play into the defense, instead of dropping straight to the ground? Nonzero risk of a fumble and an agonizing finish when Pitt was already out of timeouts.
Oh, also, I found the opposing coach's behavior to be quite objectionable.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
We needed to run at least 1 or 2 legit plays to get enough time off the clock to ice it. 3 knees would have still given Pitt about 10 seconds or so to work with, so it was smart to run a play or 2... but the last one was completely unnecessary and we should have just taken a knee to end it.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
IIRC we had less than 2 minutes to play, 1st down with no Pitt timeouts left. 40x3 = 120 = 2 minutes, plus a couple seconds if you hesitate before taking the knee. Pretty much anything within 2:10 remaining is fairly safe, especially since on 4th down you can have a guy run deep and then just heave it way over his head and burn another 8 seconds or so.
Wasn't it the ECU game where we started taking knees with about 2:40 left, turning it over with a knee on 4th? And then ECU took a knee to end it? I know that game was completely out of reach, but CJF's end-of-game clock sense looks like it could use some help.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
The clock ran down to 1:43 while Narduzzi was deciding whether or not to challenge. They did challenge the spot and the clock was reset to 2:03. While Pitt had no timeouts left after losing the challenge, that is still cutting it very close for just taking a knee, especially on our own side of the field. Trusting a r-Sr. QB to hang onto the ball is not a bad call there, I don't think. Pulling guys off a pile takes a lot more time than hesitating while taking a knee, so as long as Motley holds the ball, it's a smart move.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I liked it up until the very ast play, that one absolutely should have been the QB under center a taking the snap and a knee. Gallo has been suspect this year on his shotgun snaps and you have a backup QB in, could have been reminiscent of Michigan and Michigan St last year, luckily it was not.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Flip side of that: if you're gonna have a suspect snap, have it go 10 yards away from the defense, with your guy 5 yards closer than anyone else. I'd take that over a fumbled under-center exchange which is almost certainly going to the defense.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yeah just needed to churn a few extra seconds off the clock. Was still perplexing how Motley didn't just run around in the backfield and actually went into the Pitt D line exposing himself. He did keep the ball well protected, although that was some added stress that I don't feel was necessary
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
On the final play should have had Motley just run back to the end zone, dance around as the clock ran out and take a knee for a safety and the one point win.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Whiny Nards aside, the officiating was a hot mess last night. There were non calls on both sides that should have been (many more favoring Pitt, though) and some real head scratchers that were called (see: PI on Stroman in the end zone). I hope Pitt is ashamed by having a stark-raving idiot as coach, but the ACC really needs to evaluate their officials. So many missed calls, non-calls (not even a sideline warning for Pitt???!....really???!). I'm all for helping the handicapped, but they really need to stop recruiting refs at various schools for the deaf and blind.

Brad Cornelson really has to utilize players with their abilities in the future tho, Travon is not a power back, when running up the middle you should put in Marshawn or maybe even Sam Rogers. Same with running screens to Isaiah Ford, run em to Cam Phillips Man!
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Marshawn did carry the ball inside the tackles. He had more carries than Travon last night. It's not like we were running it 100 times inside the tackle box. Outside of QB scrambles or QB power plays, we really didn't run inside much at all. Maybe 10 plays were designed to get yards inside and Marshawn did get yards on I think every single one of his rushes. Travon got crushed a couple of times as soon as the ball was handed off. That's a dominant run defense and we went well over their average yards per game allowed.

1) Evans has the heart and brass balls of Michael Brewer, and the QB skills of one Mr. Bryan Randall (IMO).
2) I cannot, and will not, ever have anything against James Connor. That man is a beast and a legend, and just an overall incredible human being. That being said, I want him gone and in the NFL next year so we don't have to play against him.

Of course with Ron Cherry, those are "giving him the business" fouls.
It's a strange night when you're longing for Ron Cherry to be the ref of your game.

He hasn't surpassed Paul Johnson for me, yet. Although with CPJ's exit from Atlanta becoming more imminent, Pat has time.
No clue what he has smoking. Those were the most obvious PI's of the year AND they missed a couple more..
I respect those players, especially Conner, but their coach deserves a neck punch followed by a kick in the nuts.
Someone should make a mash-up with Pat Narduzzi and that kid from gt that gave that weird speech.
"Do you want to hang all over their receivers all night?? You're at Pittsburgh, you can do that!"
Evans is a Pimp. Dropping dimes on the WRs all night. Best Qb since Vick.
I know Pitt is tough on the interior, but our running game is tough to watch.
Nice to see Bucky, Cam, and Isiah come up with huge catches all game.
...best qb since Vick? I dunno man, Tyrod holds a pretty special place in my heart.
Agreed, Evans has been good but Tyrod's senior year was special. Maybe Evans gets to that level next year.
I admit. I'm getting ahead of myself. I am just really enjoying Evans on offense this season. Such a steady presence. Seems never to panic.
Tyord is in at #2. No debate. Evans retains a respectable 3rd.

A Pitt game where I don't have the urge to run into traffic afterwards? What the hell is going on here?
I did until we got the last first down. Now I'll settle for "run into stopped traffic at a red light."
1. My admiration of James Conner is nearly rivaled by newly discovered contempt for Narduzzi. The man has no shame.
2. What. A. Win. Wasn't pretty, but I'm hype as af, fam!
I don't mean to be religious on here but PRAISE GOD that is over.
Sigh of relief is right....oh man, I was having a conniption watching this game.
Easily the funniest comedy show my wife and I have ever seen. We still quote it to this day. Mine is usually "Yep babe, my job is to kick them back into play"
Mine is "But Dad, I'm Jesus Christ.".............I still have that comedy special on VHS.....lol
My dad's favorite line is, "And these children that had been singing praises to me... LIED ON ME and said, 'Ahhhh! We asked for eggs and milk, and Dad made us eat this!'"
THANK GOD
I wonder if we will hear anything about that incredibly inconsistent PI officiating this week. At this point I don't really care, but it would be nice to see someone say "hey, this was terrible and we will try not to let this happen again"
...for too many reasons. We need to pour one out for Evan's poor ankle. That thing must be shredded.
NO
NO IT'S FINE
IT'S REALLY OKAY
EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY AND HEALTHY AND WIN AND FINE
The amount of schadenfreude I am going to take in visiting Pitt blogs this week is going to be of epic proportions.
linky linky? I'd like to partake as well..
just g to the one linked in the pitt Q&A
Here ya go:
https://www.pittblather.com/
www.cardiachill.com/
http://bleacherreport.com/pitt-football
These should get ya started. Honestly I am only Google'ing haha
Some of the comments are rational:
A win is a win, but we sure as hell could have made that easier on Ourselves.
Cornelson playcalling tonight and vs. Cuse have me more than slightly concerned.
Corny was ok BUT ----> he waited a bit too long to realize we couldn't run.
Everyone else knew it after the first or second running play.
Eh, I thought we could still do it if we were passing and keeping the defense honest. However in the second quarter it was clear they were not giving up stopping the run. The thing that killed me was how they were obviously protecting the run up the middle during the red zone always and we kept doing it because we succeeded once during the drive.
I think Cornelson thought he was going up against a sane man who would adjust his defense. Silly Corney.
You can't adjust to crazy.
Joey Slye has not gotten enough mention for coming up clutch.
I was there dude, I took to long to type that Narduzzi is a douche.
I would give a leg, but it's currently sitting at 46.
It's only fitting that the Hokies won by a field goal. Joey Slye is CLUTCH. Did he really kick 6 FGs?
Pat Narduzzi is a douche and it would have been absolutely heinous if someone that rude was able to steal this game.
Internal struggle over hating narduzzi or Johnson more. Dammit, I hate them both so much now
This is easy it requires quantum hate- you hate both equally and more at the same time
Narduzzohnson's fucking cat
Freakin' love this! "Quantum Hate" is my new go to.
Only Johnson can ruin VT's Coastal chances now. I'd say that gets him all my hate right now.
Good teams win THESE GAMES. 12 round TKO.
I like blowout games a lot more. Y'all are giving me heart palpitations.
There was knot in my stomach the entire game. We won and its still there. That's how much of a sack of nerves I was throughout this game. Thank God we won that game and thank God for making Hodges and Ford absolute man beasts.
Same here.
Don't leave out Philips.
Or Evans for hanging tough.
I am relieved that the game is over and we won, but it should have been by a far larger margin. Bud was almost playing to lose at times. Gave up over 458 yards to Pitt, about their average. Conner abused us all night.
Connor is one of the best RBs in the nation, if not the best. Their Oline was huge and pissed with Narduzzi insanity. We got some key stops when needed, but it's not like they were chumps.
conor had only averaged over 5 ypc (5.3) in one game all season. he averaged almost 8 against us. great story, but he's not close to being the best RB in college this year.
You can only defend so much of the field. If you're taking away the jet sweep that up to then was Pitts explosive play, then you need your DL to make plays against a tough OL.
have to agree with this. connner got off yes (and honestly watching him play shesh he is a MAN! he gained yards after 1st contact every single time and broke 3 or 4 tackles on some plays that ended up only being 2-4 yard gains) but quadry Henderson averages 10 yrds a carry and has 350 rushing yards on the season had 5 rushes for -4 yards. that is HUGE! specially after watching the film review of pitt. that Pitt team has scored more than 30 7 games in a row.... for a reason.
Connor is special and is going to get his yards. Other than the 2 breakdowns to the TE, D played pretty well until the last TD drive. Their OL is legit and did not let us get much pass rush.
On their last drive, looked like we got soft and played like vs. Syracuse.
Our 3rd game in 13 days, they came off 12 days' rest, at home. I'll take a win any way, any how in Heinz field.
If we're shooting for one dimensional and that dimension is Connor, I'll take it (considering the final score, of course).
I said it in the game thread, but it bears repeating: I'm not sure exactly what happened to Evans' ankle, but I'm pretty sure that injury was caused by his gigantic titanium balls slamming into his leg.
Suck it Pitt. There's something you should eat now.
Titanium. Maybe Tungsten. Motley's are gold - that much time on the shelf without tarnishing is impressive.
Sorry to my wife but I just joined TKP club. I just hope I'm number 314 because I'm solidly team PI(e). Go Hokies!!!!
WELCOME PIE FAM.
YOU ARE PI(e) FAM. WELCOME TO THE CLUB!
Thanks!
Math.
Makes more sense that Pat Narduzzi.
I'm fairly sure I hit 60 minutes at 6:15 this morning. But then again I was bouncing my 3 month old trying to get her back to sleep so there's not a whole lot I can do with that time but screw around on my phone.
I hear ya. It gets better. My 6 month olds have turned into 10, 6, and 4 year olds. Goes too fast.
The days are too long and the years are too short
For some reason I've never heard this. But damn, right in the feels. So true.
I'm just sitting here hitting refresh on the two post game threads and upvoting anyone who mentions Narduzzi being a bitch. Fuck that guy, biggest crybaby I've ever seen.
Don't forget the in-game thread
Haha I generally don't venture into those...

Narduzzi's a bitch!
How about those USC cheerleaders?
I'll take 2...
at the same time?
Well yeah.
The best thing about tonight's game. We never have to play against James Conner again!
he's only a junior. who knows if he comes back or not.
I think he hears enough about the NFL that he goes and gets drafted fairly high. RB's career's are short enough as is, get your money James. I never want to see you against my Hokies again.
I think I just found a few grey hairs.
Only a few? Lucky bastard.
Hey, I'm 28. The fact that I've found any is worrisome D=
I was 24 when I found my first. Grad school man, it'll get after ya.
I wish I had hair...
Kevin Dresser weighs in
Dresser is awesome!
Narduzzi is an orange.
Dresser looking at Narduzzi like
via GIPHY
I think Pat Narduzzi just made himself the most hated coach on this site.
Someone had to do a double take...

Can we have another week of Hatin on Narduzzi? What a little whiny fucker
concurred, Nerdzuki seemed to be getting bent out of shape a LITTLE too much, as if playing some kind of part in a play -especially (as I thought it was a fair assessment from Mr.
Yes, I'd much rather hate Narduzzi for another week than try to hate on Cutcliffe.
Great win, just wish we would have chewed up some more clock when we were up 39 to 29. Those two incompletion's didn't help my nerves.
Pitt defenders were getting away with murder on every pass play .
FUCK NARDOOZI
Absolutely classless. What a fucking piece of shit.
East a bag of dicks, Doozie
Fuck that mother lovin bastard...
Narduzzy, go blow another smurf!
well played sir... upvote for this one forsure.
LOL. Maybe teach your DBs how to knock down a pass instead of grabbing the receiver and you won't have to cry like a little baby every play. What a loser.
What do you expect from a coach that instead of protecting his players and changing coverages says, "You've got to play harder!"
Key difference between Fuente and Doozi
Fuente: Accepts responsibility for loss and will find a way to persevere
(Yes the refs were shit today but...)
Doozi: Blames our players for cheating and acts like a 5 year old who didn't get the toy he wanted from Toys R US.
What a garbage remark. I think he needs to watch the damn game tape, sit down and shut up
what a lil bitch
Narduzzi is a jerk and a scumbag , hope he never wins another game . Glad to have a coach that win or loose shows some class.
Our receivers to Narduzzi:

If his in-game antics weren't enough, he went full harbaugh in the presser.
Never go full harbaugh.
Narduzzi is the clown of the conference. Without London's sideline antics he's the undisputed king now.
The bitching was incredible to me. Did we throw a pass in which Pitt DB's DIDN'T have a fist full of our jerseys? They got about 5 no calls easily.
Yeah, it was a bit absurd.
Guys were getting mugged all over the place.
Narduzzi had the nerve to complain about a PI call when the replay showed his guy had a handful of shirt.
Concur completely. It will be a nice day at work tommorrow. Two straight weeks where I don't have to avoid the what happen last night question. Go Hokies.
Way better than 11 days ago, when I was getting all the "what happened on Saturday" questions, and I live/work in upstate NY where the one thing that most people know about college football is that Syracuse is awful....
Pat Narduzzi is a complete moron.
Never really hated on a coach, but this guy is a fucking nutjob! Shit is to good for this fucktard to eat.
Pat, they're laughing at you, not with you. Just in case you were wondering.
He sits atop my shit list of college football coaches now. Impressive how has he managed to surpass Harbaugh in a matter of 4 hours.
He is right, the officiating was very one sided, but the officials did have to call a couple penalties against Pitt tonight, they couldn't show too much favoritism.
What a dipshit. He probably spent halftime and post game ripping into his corners, while refusing to give them safety help all night.
What a scumbag. I'm glad our coach showed some class even though he actually had a real reason to complain.
His secondary has sucked all year and the same rang true tonight. So what does he do about it? Cries every play and then blames the other team's receivers after the game. Maybe take some accountability and the secondary will improve.
Narduzzi's secondary sucked so much that I'm pretty sure the PI is a part of his game plan.
And then he has the nerve to complain about PI calls.
I actually was wondering about that.
His DBs were outmatched but by climbing all over our receivers, they were able to prevent some catches.
I think Nardz shtick was to berate the refs all night about them not calling offense PI to keep them from calling def PI.
Nard-stanza.
Also related to Narduzzi:
Complete asshat
I'll concede that Ford and Bucky were both getting away with some push-offs all night, but to harp on this when your DB's are grabbing fist fulls of jersey all night is completely asinine. That, coupled with his sideline buffoonery has shredded any respect I may have ever had for the guy. Bush League.
If the refs aren't calling contact, there's going to be some contact. Doesn't mean you have free reign to grab a handful of jersey every play.
Nickname: Nardo the Hardo
I sincerely hope that Pitt falls apart, there's a full on locker room revolt, and they fail to become bowl eligible.
It is a fucking shame that an absolute class act like James Connor has to endure being coached by a graceless douchelord like Pat Narduzzi.
A leg for "graceless douchelord"
Same here
Pretty sure Conner complained less when he found out he had cancer than Narduzzi did over the phantom calls last night.
Would love to hear comments about the officiating from Narduzzi following their film day.
if nobody's called it yet, then I'm calling "shotgun"!
Coastal: get it locked up.
Not until UNC loses and we win out.
UNC doesn't have to lose if we win out -- we have tiebreaker
Both happening would make me happy. Either way, we don't lock up the Coastal until we actually lock up the Coastal.
EAT SHIT PAT!
Coined, right here and now
To show you how classy our players are, Mike Burnopp just threw up a lob to Cam Phillips on the post game show on how many DPIs were missed - and the kid said they never expect the flag and they are taught to play through them. Didn't say a negative thing at all in regards to the officiating.
FYI, Isaiah says the same thing. Kudos to both of those kids.
Kudos to the coaching staff.
They're the opposite of Narduzzi.
Probably why he will be catching passes on Sundays
I just tried to upvote this multiple times. I love our coaches, and our character. That's bigger than football. Proud to be a Hokie.
Dear Emma,
I think you are just beautiful and would like to take you out for a lovely steak dinner and call you again afterwards.
Sincerely,
This hopeless single guy in VA
....and make sure Mrs. Mantooth takes your call the following day, as well?
She is a saint after all
Ford, Bucky and CP5 all had over 100 yards receiving.
Narduzzi is a d-bag.
Connor is a beast.
Our team has serious guts.
Gritty win for the good guys.
Hope Jerod is healthy.
Control of the costal.
Narduzzi, seriously, is a d-bag.
FTFY
And I agree with a previous post - Slye for 25 next week!
Nooooooo....when he wore it before. He missed a FG & PAT.....he needs to stay 46
SUCK IT NARDUZZI
Also, Price, your pants look ridiculous.
Agreed!
Wow, hard to believe no one has brought this up yet, but:
Pat Narduzzi is a fucking whiny douche.
You jest, but seriously it can't be said enough
Is it too late to say: Fuck You Pat Narduzzi?
I cannot remember the last time I have been so pissed off about a win.
No, I think we officially extend the "hating on Narduzzi" for a week.
And I'm pretty sure it's a valid opinion all-year now.
Coach Cut is hard to hate on anyway.
True. Unlike Narduzzi, he actually has class.
I'll take a double-dip of the Nard Dog over a week of Coach Cut for hatin' on.
Maybe we need a "Comparin' on: Cutcliffe and Narduzzi" thread.
"Respektin on Coach Cut"
The man has earned our respect... Just leave the Nardouchy hatin' on thread up for comparison
Let's not get carried away. The man still needs to lose next Saturday.
This, exactly.
The most hatin' I can manage for Cut is "David Cutcliffe coaches Duke and has beaten us twice."
Which isn't really hatin'. It's just stating facts.
Your hatred burns with the fury of a thousand puppies.
That is a spicy hot take
So holding receiver jerseys is ok to coach whatever the fuck his name is...
It's Nardipshit
We had 100 total yards on Pitt last year. Today we had 3 receivers over 100 yards.
If we had Shane and Loeffler we'd still be trying to run it up the middle on them tonight
Love the fact our coaches adjusted to what they were doing. And now we know Nardouchy won't ever adjust, so just find their weaknesses in film and exploit from the start next year.
Well then, so awesome. What a great win! 32 missed pass interference calls and we still won. That is overcoming obstacles. And the curse is no more! Nice win Hokies. 1-0 this week.
Go Hokies.
If there is a God, there will be a GIF compilation of Narduzzi's tantrums made within a couple of days. Hell, someone show me how, and I'll do them once hokietapes does his thing.
Here's a sensible Pitt fan in an otherwise mostly delusional post-game thread:
panther-lair.com
A couple reasonable ones on that thread agreeing that they got away with a lot of no calls on PI
Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact that no one on TKP has back-and-forth consisting of "Idiotic statement" - "No you're an idiot" - "No YOU'RE AN IDIOT"
Good grief.
Oh really?
Sorry, had to
Props to that Pitt fan. Yuenglings on are me if I ever meet that one.
I can watch the top 25 scoreboard all the way to the end this weekend!!!
Our receivers were getting mobbed all game and still ate Pitt's lunch.
Also, did anyone else on here with children want to put that douchebag coach in timeout when he threw his headset and stomped like a toddler?
After the second time they showed him messing with the mic on his headset (early 1st Q), we turned it into a drinking game.
How are you still alive?
Slye saved our asses.
Their DBs are really bad.
Our coach can adjust.
Narduzzi to D:
"I won't help just play better."
No surprise, they lose.
So glad we beat Pitt
Heinz field can still go away
Lost bet due to spread
Same by .5
Can we get the gif of Jerod stepping into the huddle before that 3rd and 1 at the end of the game and screaming at his guys to fight with everything they had for that yard?
Because that was awesome. Also I don't know that that's exactly what he was saying but that's what I imagined.
Jerod Evans played with enough heart for the rest of the team tonight. What a performance. This is a game we normally lose in the past. It was ugly and we did our best to keep PITT in it, but at the end of the night: 6-2.
I think we all found out what Fully Dipped Dork Magic means last night: Jerod Evans.
Still not pass interference according to Narduzzi
You need to penalize the leg for that shit... Come on how is the defender supposed to prevent the catch like that?
I wish I could make .gifs. I would like to see .gifs of all of the PIs (missed and called) and of theDouche loosing his shit.
Narduzzi at church last Sunday
Ugly, skin of our teeth win is still a win.
Since I went to be halfway through the third quarter, I'll have to go back this weekend and watch the fourth, if only to see what Motley did to deserve so much recognition.
Thanks, I look forward to seeing it on the replay this evening
He played as if not a single one of us had written him off 2 months ago.
I, too, was wondering why we didn't take 3 knees instead of running the ball. No reason to take risks only up 3 in your own half of the field.
We needed to run at least 1 or 2 legit plays to get enough time off the clock to ice it. 3 knees would have still given Pitt about 10 seconds or so to work with, so it was smart to run a play or 2... but the last one was completely unnecessary and we should have just taken a knee to end it.
I liked it up until the very ast play, that one absolutely should have been the QB under center a taking the snap and a knee. Gallo has been suspect this year on his shotgun snaps and you have a backup QB in, could have been reminiscent of Michigan and Michigan St last year, luckily it was not.
Flip side of that: if you're gonna have a suspect snap, have it go 10 yards away from the defense, with your guy 5 yards closer than anyone else. I'd take that over a fumbled under-center exchange which is almost certainly going to the defense.
Yeah just needed to churn a few extra seconds off the clock. Was still perplexing how Motley didn't just run around in the backfield and actually went into the Pitt D line exposing himself. He did keep the ball well protected, although that was some added stress that I don't feel was necessary
I figured Motley was the single finger extended up the middle to their coach...
Same. Not taking the knee was a big FU, IN MY OPINION. IMO IMO IMO!
On the final play should have had Motley just run back to the end zone, dance around as the clock ran out and take a knee for a safety and the one point win.
Despite being from WVU, very relevant.
I lost track of non-PI calls against Pitt at 11 in case anyone is wondering. And those were just the ones that were obvious because of replays.
30th Birthday = Success
Got shittay and Hokies Won / broke the curse
Will re-hydrate myself by licking the tears of Narduzzi off of Heinz Field
Careful, those tears are gonna be salty.
electrolytes ftw
Heinz Field has what SoupHokie09 craves
Brad Cornelson really has to utilize players with their abilities in the future tho, Travon is not a power back, when running up the middle you should put in Marshawn or maybe even Sam Rogers. Same with running screens to Isaiah Ford, run em to Cam Phillips Man!
Remember when the previous staff would put in certain players and then the opposing team would know exactly what type of play we were going to run?
I member. And I member how pissed everyone was that they did. Can't make everyone happy I suppose.
If anyone's having trouble membering, maybe try to remember instead.

True but why waste the talent of certain players doing things they just can't do? Why not mix it up with backups of similar skill sets?
travon mcmillian didnt get 1000 yards rushing last year by not being able to run between the tackles
He also didn't get 1000 yds running draw plays
Memberberries.... the official tailgating snack of Miami football
Don't you actually have to go to the game to tailgate?
Marshawn did carry the ball inside the tackles. He had more carries than Travon last night. It's not like we were running it 100 times inside the tackle box. Outside of QB scrambles or QB power plays, we really didn't run inside much at all. Maybe 10 plays were designed to get yards inside and Marshawn did get yards on I think every single one of his rushes. Travon got crushed a couple of times as soon as the ball was handed off. That's a dominant run defense and we went well over their average yards per game allowed.
For a thread with this title, i feel like this is overdue:

Three things I noticed last night:
1) Evans has the heart and brass balls of Michael Brewer, and the QB skills of one Mr. Bryan Randall (IMO).
2) I cannot, and will not, ever have anything against James Connor. That man is a beast and a legend, and just an overall incredible human being. That being said, I want him gone and in the NFL next year so we don't have to play against him.
3) Nard-dawg is a Nard-douche. Fuck Pat Narduzzi. And Fuck Matt Ryan while we're at it.
You really needed to make that three posts...
Either that or I need to be able to give three turkey legs for that post
Side note, since Connor is tight and Narduzzi is terrible, I hope Connor graduates and transfers to get his graduate degree...at VT
Connor is good but I wasn't a fan how how he yelled at the center on the false start. I get emotions are high and he wants to win but gotta show support for teammates when they make a mistake.
