I know I've advertised this a lot, but with the game next week, I figure its worth mentioning again...
Please note, Duke is cutting off our sales at EOD on Monday, so please act soon if you want to join. Considering we won't know kickoff time until Sunday, we're trying to work with them to extend this allowance, but I wouldn't count on it.
For the Duke game, the local Alumni Chapter will have a big function, with proceeds going toward a scholarship for a local student (out of state tuition for these kids, so the scholarship certainly helps). It is all you can eat, all you can drink tailgating with your fellow Hokies for 3 hours prior to kickoff. You can buy your tickets at the following location: Trianglehokies.org
Prices are as follows:
Adult buffet w/ game ticket: $75
Adult buffet only: $45
Child buffet w/ game ticket: $40
Child buffet only: $30
We received word earlier this week that Whit Babcock will be making an appearance with other various members of the Athletic Department to stop by and mingle with the attendees. In 2014, they showed up with Desiree Reed-Francois and Kevin Jones, but with KJ now working on his own, I doubt he'll show up, but they arrived about an hour or so before we left for the game and spoke and hung out with the crowd. We're still working to see if the Cheerleaders and HokieBird will be showing up as well, but I would assume they are at this point.
Menu for the event, as we know it now, includes the following:
- Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork
- Chili Rubbed Beef Brisket
- Mac & Cheese
- Black Bean Salad
- Fruit Salad
- Brioche Rolls, Brownies & Cookies
- Sweet & Unsweet Tea
- Coca-Cola Products & Dasani Water
- at least 2 kegs of local Triangle beers
Personally, I know the tickets might seem overpriced, but we're completely hamstrung on what Duke is charging us. We're doing a minimal markup with 100% of the proceeds going towards a scholarship for a local student. With out-of-state tuition for VT being what it is, believe me, the scholarship goes to good use every year. That said, with the prices being what they are on StubHub, if you want to attend, it might be worth buying the game tickets there, and the tailgate pass through us.
Once again, if you want to purchase, please do so at the following link: Trianglehokies.org Duke Game/Tailgate Passes
Also, if you do plan to attend, please know that Duke has numerous events going on this day for the game, most notably being their Celebration of the 75th anniversary of hosting the Rose Bowl during World War II. Traffic and congestion should be worse than what you'd normally expect at Duke, so if you plan to attend, please plan accordingly.
You know I'm always on here, so just let me know if you have questions, and I'll answer as best as I can.

Would you like me to post this on TKP's Facebook page?
If you don't mind, we'd appreciate it very much! Thanks!
It's now officially a 3:30 kickoff for those coming! Plenty of time to have fun with all your favorite Hokies
Just a reminder that Duke is forcing us to submit final numbers tomorrow morning, so today is your last chance to buy if you want to join.
