Virginia Tech leads the ACC Coastal after the offense led a 39-36 win at Pitt. QB Jerod Evans went 24-for-40 for 406 yards, 2 TDs and no turnovers. Wide receiver Cam Phillips averaged 8.6 yards on 5 rushes and had 6 catches for 109 yards, and the Tech receivers consistently made big catches in big moments for the road win.

Seemed like a pretty good strategy to go for all those passes
when they were devoting so many people to the box. That's a heck
of a lot of yards for our QB/Receivers.
We showed that we could score in clutch situations which was absent the last 3 years. Good work by the Offensive coaches....
We still ran for 150 on a night when 95% of our rushing playbook was ineffective.

Honestly, I thought it took too long to make adjustments on offense. We were in the RZ a lot in the first quarter and kept on trying to run.
Narduzzi not willing to adjust their defense was pretty extreme. I think Corn just expected that he would adjust at somepoint, but instead he just went with equivalent of the hailmary man coverage all game. Credit to Corn for having the guts to turn it into a fadefest. It was almost a mockery of Narduzzi. "If you're going to be such a douche I'm not even going to run routes, just fades".
Remember seeing a couple tweets that speculated that the wind in the endzone was insane, and suggested that the coaches thought passing the ball would be difficult.

I just know that Heinz Field is notorious for giving FG kickers trouble. I figured they would have tried "safe" passes (and, no, not the shovel pass)
I remember Bud saying something post-game that the wind was a lot worse early in the game. Easier to throw into it later in the game possibly?
