Did you notice his demeanor on the sideline the entire game? Total class act, as compared to Fedora who did a somewhat convincing impression of he-who-shall-not-be-named. Even when things weren't going well, he took it in stride and never looked upset-always projected an air of confidence. Duke hit a home run when they hired him.

Not a neg nancy, just annoyed andy and still maintain that we could (and should) have won by more. I'm elated UNCheat choked against Duke. But regardless of how "great" Cutcliff is, I expect at least a 2 TD victory. Heck, we were up by 2 TDs, you can't convince me otherwise. So, sorry, no crow. Plus, I hate Duke. So very much. May they disappear back into football irrelevance where they belong (bye Felicia). That is all.

Jesus christ man just be glad we won the damn game. How many times have we lost close games like that in the past few years? Four of our six losses in 2015 were by seven points or less. Five of our six losses in 2014 were by seven points are less and three of five in 2013 were by seven points or less. We are winning games we haven't won in the past and that's a huge accomplishment to hang our hats on.

I'm not sure what to make of their obvious discounting of our ability to run the table in our remaining ACC games. I hate being disrespected, but am a huge proponent of ignoring the noise and earning it. It will come with continued victories. I love being the underdog anyhow, and somehow I feel that regardless of what happens on the field in the future, the retarded talking heads will always view VT as a second tier program. Fuck 'em.

Went to the game but left in the third quarter. Defense was terrible. Offense was flat. Duke outplayed us. I guess our guys thought they would roll over at 14-0. Congrats to Duke. They deserved the win.
Annnnd that right there is one of the many reasons their program is garbage. Their fans are the type that will bail on a tight game against their rival school in the third quarter. That makes me appreciate being a Hokie that much more.

I still have a hard time believing UofL gets in over a 1 or 2 loss ACC Champion. Just not going to happen. The committee heavily weighs winning your conference, and UofL wouldn't have even won their division. In all likelihood, if VT wins out from here, its either VT to the playoff or the ACC gets left out completely.

Ahh, I see. So no Pac-12 champion or Big-12 champion in the playoff. Louisville makes it over non-champions of B1G and SEC.
I think UW is just one small piece of that puzzle, and would probably need to lose twice, which is a possibility with their schedule. If they lose to USC and Wazzu and don't make their championship, no UW in the playoffs becomes a really strong possibility.
Definitely would help to have UMich and Alabama to win out, knocking out OSU, Wisconsin, and Auburn.

Any time I hear the word "squadron", I can't help but think of that Simpson's episode where Apu was worried he'd be deported, so he laid the whole "Being American" thing on really thick to aid in staying in the U.S.

Herman to LSU still makes too much sense. Unless Texas opens up, then that's a tough call for Herman.
I could also see Frieze leaving Ole Miss for Texas (Ole Miss also graduating a senior QB). Texas is Ole Miss without the Bama Problem. If that's the case, Fedora makes a ton of sense for Ole Miss.

That would be a fabulous way for UNC to go back to middling Coastal cannon fodder for VT on an annual basis. Chizik was brought in to fix that defense and despite the wins, the defense is still all different shades of bad. If they go down that path, you might as well write them off long term.

Part of me hopes Fedora stays. UNC sucks at defense, and their defensive recruiting isn't going to help them down the line. Now the Trub is going pro (most likely scenario), they really don't have anyone behind him, and are going to have to rely on Hood to carry the load next year. Can he? Sure, but once he's gone, there isn't much left behind him, either.
This was their last best chance to crack the glass ceiling in the ACC, and they kind of blew it. They'll be a decent team, but their days of being a high powered force are probably behind them, mainly because it was built on recruiting momentum from before. They should have raked in talent the last couple years, and it didn't materialize.

I believe the thinking is that Louisville would go to CFP and thus Hokies to Orange.
