It just came out that our final regular season game is on a six day hold, which means we won't know the time or network until next weekend.
I'll post my analysis of the ESPN schedule later when I have time to look at it, but I have a feeling that it'll be ESPNU at 3:30, since we've been there a lot recently. And, we've been on ESPNU for three of the last four matchups. The only one not on the U was the Black Friday game, and I'm sure that if we had been on Saturday, we probably would have been on ESPNU that year too.

Hard to get a primetime spot and on a major channel when we keep playing an FCS team the last week of every year.
Members of the NJCAA aren't part of FCS.
well that's annoying...Thanksgiving plans are influenced by game time..earlier I know the better
I'd actually like this as a nooner on major channel. Leave SC around 4 and have time after game to actually do something around Blacksburg for once.
I'd like it as a nooner just so the weather is a bit warmer.
I hope it's noon just so I can drink that much more in the afternoon
Celebration drinking, of course.
FYI, the "full" announcement: http://www.theacc.com/news/acc-announces-game-times-and-networks-for-wee...
GT at UGA is on SEC Network, Syracuse at Pitt got picked for ACC Network, BC at WF is on the RSN.
So, that looks like we're on a main ESPN channel. For myself, it doesn't really matter since I get all of them, but I hope it's not on ESPNU because my grandma doesn't get that channel, and she's starting to feel like it's a conspiracy against her these last few weeks.
Just bought my tix this morning. I'm actually not sure when I last made it to Lane for a game and I'm seriously disappointed in myself for that
Don't feel like making a new post, but according to 247 Bronco is benching Benkert for Matt Johns this weekend, and it looks like for the remainder of the season.
Great, we didn't crush him enough the past two seasons.
I hope he tries to jump over Stroman to get out of bounds again and gets lit up in bounds so we can see if Bronco throws a fit like Timecop
Nah, Bronco will just have someone nut punch him as revenge.
This guy?

I thought he changed careers
That's Lambert
dammit
Yep. He's the one who transferred to UGA and now is the backup to a true freshman.
After setting the NCAA single game completion percentage record.
That's going to make for a hell of an Aflac Trivia Question in 10 years.
That was last year. This year Lambert didn't do anything at all.
Johns came in for Lambert after that play and immediately drove them down the field. Johns has always looked the part, tall guy with a solid arm and much, much more mobile than he looks. I would rather face Benkert.
so you're saying Bronco is following in TimeCop's footsteps in benching the better QB because...LOLUVa?
Sure. But, to London and Bronco.....and Groh's credit.....
the talent they have had at QB has been so poor, I'm not sure it has mattered. Just because it's so fun, here are the QB's who have played against VT since 2004:
Hagans, Sewell, Lalich, Verica, Hall, Matheny, Rocco, Watford, Sims, Lambert, Johns
Wow. I guess by default because he has an NCAA record, Lambert is the best of the bunch. Or Rocco, he never really played against us (3 att's in 2010 I think).
interesting aside: Hagans holds the distinction of being the only guy on that list to have experienced a win over Tech AND come back later as an assistant coach in charge of hazing
Talk about an AFLAC Trivia Question
I think this is who your looking for
right. I'd still be ok with him getting some bobble-head action this game
Please please please be a noon game. These 3:30 games are killing me.
Username checks out.
I wanted to ask where are you in Russia in Russian, but apparently TKP doesn't support Cyrillic. Always trying to keep the motherland down.
Noon on ABC and ESPNU plus 3:30 on ESPN are claimed. A lot of six day holds, though. Might be tough to determine. But a lot of Big 10 games are listed as noon or 3:30, which could open up primetime.
Not that it matters in this thread, I am retiring my Orange shirt and hat after Saturday's debacle. Went through my wardrobe and decided on the Orange. Bad decision!! Thinking seriously of burning it when I toast some leaves.
Hoping for 3:30. Got company for Turkey Day seeing they all are from out of town.
I am not a superstitious person, but for humor's sake I do keep up with stuff like that to some degree. Because of 2012-2016, I don't think there's any pieces of hokie gear I have that we haven't lost while I was wearing haha.
I did have a tv at my dad's house from 2005-2010 where we were undefeated.
orange is always a bad call EXCEPT if we're playing BC, FSU, aTm or some such team. In other words, so long as you can't be mistaken for the opposing team's fan, wear maroon. 60% of the time, it's works every time.
I think last Saturday was a fluke in terms of superstitions. I blame all of the other upsets.
All maroon is the uniform meaning all business. It'seems brought success in the past.
Someone didn't watch Miami 2014.
But I agree with you, and it worked out pretty well for us this year.
Now remember we do have a 2016 #AllMaroonEverything Thursday night ass whoopin on Da U. Kinda balances out 2014.
Knew from the start this would be a six day hold. They had one left they could use and they always save it for the last week.
If it's on ESPNU, and I hope it's not, can we get someone other than those awful commentators from the past two weeks? I'd take Mushberger and Holtzzzz over those clowns.
4 games on the U, and 3 different announcers. At least they haven't given us the clown that can't say corps again.
I'm getting sick and tired of ESPNU games. SWMBO reduced our cable package and we don't get that channel anymore. (or the ones with bbq cookoffs, the science, channel, and a few other goodies.)
A 6-day hold...and still won't throw the flag for Ekanem. WTF, Ron Cherry?!?!?!
I'll see myself out

Not noon. Please.
I'll be in Atlanta with the in-laws side of the family..... and they're all SEC fans.... Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia......
*shoots self*
Luckily we have two houses and about 6 TV's, so I'm just hoping I can find my own room, stream the game via telephone/chromecast, drink booze, and watch lucky #13 and make it 17 wins outta the last 18 years
Any chance someone could post a list of the announced games and the 6-day hold games? Or point me towards a link where I could find it myself (though it might be blocked here)? Would be nice to see what we're up against here.
The ACC games are in the link I posted above. As for the rest of college football: http://www.fbschedules.com/2016/11/college-football-tv-schedule-selectio...
It looks like three American games and 2 Pac-12 games (Notre Dame at USC, UCLA at Cal) are also completely TBA. But I don't think all of those are ESPN.
Okay, I figured out where the holes in the schedule are.
Nothing has been determined for ESPN2 at all. ABC and ESPNU only have noon games scheduled, and ESPN only has a 3:30 game set. There is one game (WKU at Marshall) set for primetime on ESPNU or ESPNEWS, and I would say it's leaning towards NEWS.
Michigan State at Penn State is set for noon or 3:30, but no channel. It's the only Big Ten game with no set time/channel. BTN has a 3:30 slot available. It seems like a no brainer there, since there is literally no other game available for BTN in that timeslot.
CBS only has the Iron Bowl at 3:30. Fox only has a primetime game, while FS1 has two afternoon games, but all three have been determined.
Here are the ten games without timeslots:
South Carolina at Clemson
Duke at Miami (FL)
Florida at Florida State
Kentucky at Louisville
Virginia at Virginia Tech
Notre Dame at USC
UCLA at California
UCF at USF
East Carolina at Temple
Navy at SMU
CBSSN still has the noon slot open, so that will take one of the American games. Pac-12 Networks already have two games, so I don't think they'll take any more.
Which is convenient, because I see 9 ESPN slots available:
-ABC: 3:30 and Primetime
-ESPN: Noon and Primetime
-ESPN2: Noon, 3:30, and Primetime
-ESPNU: 3:30
-ESPNU or ESPNEWS: Primetime
44.4% chance of primetime
33.3% chance of 3:30
22.2% chance of noon (but, we know that the Pac-12 games aren't getting the noon slot, so there's only 7 available there)
Do they not have any Pac-12 After Dark slots that weekend? That would take care of one (or both) of the Pac-12 games, and allow for another game, though I have no idea where that would come from. Unless ESPN would somehow steal the Michigan State at Penn State game from BTN, in which case what would BTN show at 3:30? That's the only reason I could think of as to why BTN hasn't been announced as the channel for that game yet.
There are two MWC games scheduled for ESPN2/ESPNU at 10:15, they just have to determine which one goes on which channel. ESPN has Sportscenter scheduled for 10 PM.
Plus, one of those Pac-12 games is Notre Dame at USC. They're not hiding that one in the "after dark" timeslot. Maybe there's an open spot on Pac-12 Network for late night, but both of the games available seem too high profile to be buried there.
Not to mention, there's 10 games listed as TBA, and 10 open timeslots.
Cal and UCLA are both 4-6, with games against Stanford and USC up next week so both will likely be 4-7. Not exactly high-profile there.
But, the fact that the MWC already has two late-night games scheduled kind of puts the kibosh on Pac-12 After Dark. I agree, there's no way ND would be handed a late-night slot, and to be fair it's probably the highest-profile game on that list and will probably get the Primetime ABC slot.
Looking at those games, I see us taking one of the 5 best remaining slots, behind ND-USCw and UF-FSU and about even with USCe-Clemson and UK-Louisville. Guess we gotta wait until Sunday to see how that shakes out.
Did anyone capture the "I Pledge" video from 2011 that LOLUVA published on YouTube? I've been wanting to troll them for the past 4 years with that video, but I cannot seem to find anyone who has a copy. They have since removed the video from YouTube.
