So last week...ugh, good news is we're still in contention for the ACC championship, and playing spoiler is always fun too! We can return the favor for my freshman year to Clemson. This season is still to me a success if we can win both of those games, and hell if we can win our bowl game or the ACC championship we have a shot at 10 wins. WITH A NEW COACH. we all knew there would be some growing pains when we completely revamped the offense, welcome to life and here it is. Now we're taking on what looked like one of our hardest games in the preseason to a talented team in south bend.

But I'm here to talk about the weather. The hokies have made a living out of playing in terrible weather this season and this weekend is looking like it could be no different.

Early outlook is looking like it could be some heavier rain Friday night before lightning up the following morning before we get a nice mixture of sleet rain and snow (IE a wintry mix) the following afternoon leading up into the game. This has the making for (not necessarily heavy rain during the game). Its a very close call with a heavy trough coming across the US and bringing with it a low pressure system and a cold front as such. The storms and precipitation will be preceding this but should it linger for any kind of extended period of time the cold front will pass bringing with it subfreezing temperatures which should make freezing precipitation (IE snow and ice) possible. I fully expect temperatures to fluctuate between 40-30 on gameday (40 being the high and the low being roughly 30). How low this low gets will be absolutely crucial to the amount of snow we get. For now I believe it will be light flurries with just enough accumulation to cake the roads with about a quarter to half an inch.

The worst part of the weather however for football wont be the cold weather or precipitation, rather it will be the wind. This will be hands down the windiest game we've played in since the hurricane game earlier this season. Gusts could be upwards of 30 mph during the game making the passing game VERY difficult. I believe this will force both offenses to become one dimensional and i sincerely hope our coaching staff gameplans accordingly again. If we return to the downhill running game and bud can get the boys flying to the ball again we could escape south bend with a win. The injuries to the secondary should be covered up by the weather, I do not expect long passing games to be particularly effective unless there is a completely BLOWN coverage. I really hope we see a lot of Marshawn. We have a fantastically talented opponent this week albeit won with their tails between their legs.

I've taken my wife to three other games this will be fourth Duke at Duke back in 2008 and Duke UNC last year at home. We were drenched last year also. Today while I'm in class she is working on figuring out how we get our winter gear there without checking a bag.

Unfortunately my friend, I was a freshman at Clemson this season, and I have no choice but to believe I brought our favor and 10 win streak to Clemson. After that year we lost ours and Clemson has been theirs ever since I enrolled. My sincerest apologies to you all.

Not gonna be bad the front will hit the night before rain snow wise and I don't think it redevelops. That being said im currently walking home in what you guys will be experiencing and this wind is fucking brutal. Cold cold cold with a strong wind, wintry mix drizzle. Precip will barely top a tenth of an inch and it is a close call with snow but i dont think itll be bad. You might get a moment here or there of heavy snow but little to no consistency or accumulation. I think its far more likely we see a drizzly rain all game with some flurries mixed in. Again the big impact will be wind and temperature. The wind is GOING TO BE BRUTAL
So basically, another 1st half of PITT. Due to the wind we couldn't throw in that half and had to rely on rushing the ball. Great.

Edit, grass is almost covered in snow. Eshiben is right it's windy as balls. Layers necessary plus a windbreak outer layer is a safe bet. South bend in late November, seems right

Yeah the wind is high and the snow is blowing everywhere. The snow in the field is mostly gone, through melting or blowing away. We're multi layering plus bringing poncho just in case
