Marshawn Williams out for the rest of the year.

Really hope he's okay and it's not overly serious. He's been a tough runner.

I'm no doctor, but what injury would be season-ending that he could still play on?

Maybe he pulled an RG3 circa 2013

Maybe a meniscus like Kendall Fuller had?

He already wears a brace, you can play on a ligament tear with a brace to some degree (Deshaun Watson did this against SCar in 2014), BUT it's hard to imagine playing on a torn ACL that soon after it happened. I'm hoping it's not a major ligament.

A former teammate of mine played a full season of rec league basketball on a torn ACL, knowing it was torn. If other knee ligaments are damaged, supposedly there isn't much pain but there is a destabilized feeling and it locks up.

I feel awful for the kid. By all accounts, he really busted his tail to be ready for this season.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

A girl who was on the ski team with me at Tech tore her ACL during tryouts and was racing later that same winter, so... (season only lasted, like, 6 weeks)

Best duos in Hokie history: Hall & Adibi, 3rd & Tyrod, Georgia & Liz

That's tough to hear, going to be a difficult recovery for him if its the same knee.

So, did that guy on TSL start the thread about Juice getting hurt from the future?

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Bad jinx for sure

Damn, he's at a minimun he's our best big RB, arguably our best RB period. Hope it's something he can recover from.

Man I hope this isn't bad. I can't express how bad I feel for good kids like Juice that keep getting unlucky with the injury bug. Especially with how hard he had to work to come back from the last injury I really hope he can keep his chin up.

Using /s is for cowards.

Is it the same knee? I hope not. If it is, I hope it is "minor".

What has happened to Shai? I don't think he has been on any injury reports (I could be wrong).

Another knee injury for the Juice/Shai combo? I do wonder if it is the smart move for them to give up football in hopes that they will be able to walk normally for their next 6 decades.

Juice is starting to really remind me of Jonathan Stewart. They're my favorite type of RB who refuse to go down easy and get the tough yards... but that seems like it lends itself to a lengthy injury history in many cases.

Hope he is able to recover and get back to it.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

So has anyone true detective'd the play where he got injured yet? We could probably learn something if we can identify that play.

All you need to know about MW is in this tweet. Hope he has a speedy recovery

It could be a minor knee sprain, but realistically the season is over just one scrimmage to go in the regular season.

I hope I'm wrong, but I assume "out for the season" means he'll miss the Orange Bowl as well.

Even so, that doesn't necessarily mean it's another blown ACL.

I prefer to think that Bowl games are considered post-season events. :)

In the last play of the 3rd Q, Juice destroyed a few defenders and then pushed the pile to get 10 yards. If he was hurt at that point - what a stud.

I think that is the play I cheered about the most, oddly enough. Just love the tough running yards. Hope he's going to be alright.

Anybody know what Shai's status is?

Tyrod did it, Mikey!

I have no sources, but my guess is he's transferring after the season. Out of the Sam Rogers, TMAC, Marshawn Williams, and Shai rotation, he received by far the least carries and now he has been replaced by Stephon Peoples. It doesn't make much sense for the former 4* RB from PA to ride the pine for the last two years of his time at VT. Fuente has no allegiance to players recruited by the old regime.

He's healthy. He's not playing. He's probably gone.

I'm just telling it like it is fam.

He might be transferring but I do not think he is healthy.

He's not healthy.

I think you might be outthinking your coverage.

It makes no sense for Shai to stay. It sucks because he did well when he played but he has to do what is best for himself. Don't forget about McClease as another back next year

uva sucks

Sucks for Marshawn. I really like his running style. Having said that, insert Steven Peoples here!

This fucking sucks. Marshawn Williams is a Virginia Tech Hokie 100%. He is the embodiment of a team player. He has worked tirelessly to rehab in the past, but you just have to wonder if this is it for him. 3 knee injuries in 3 years... that just sucks. Fuck that...

Man he is so good, this is just depressing to hear. No other *running back* on the team has the power that he does

He's worked his ass off to get back on the field and has been a bruiser. I hope he recovers quickly.

I have no doubt that he will be back next year and ready to go. Marshawn s a fighter!

I wish Marshawn the best. My junior year of high school I tore my ACL, four months before my senior year of soccer started. The Duke game where Marshawn tore his had happened five months ago, so he was well into his rehabilitation, so I direct messaged him on Twitter asking if there was any chance I could be in playing shape by August, 3.5 months after my surgery. He said he was about 80% at that moment, which when you are a high school goalkeeper, is good enough. He told me to rehab 2-3 times every day and I did. The day before our first game of the season, I was cleared to play by Dr. Siegel, one of the team doctors. I finished the year with all-state recognition.

I owe part of this to Marshawn as he was one of the first ones to tell me it was possible. I have all the confidence in the world that he will work his way back and be the player he was this season. I respect him for playing through that injury as well. He will go down as one of my all-time favorite Tech players, regardless of where the next two seasons take him.

I guess McMillian went out after a fumbled mesh point and didn't return. He's been so tentative in games this year.

Shai hasn't played since him mom went on a FB rant about his PT, according to Chris Coleman at TSL. So that's probably not going in the right direction.

I guess Peoples and Sam with maybe some McMillian this weekend.

Hope we get Jalen Holston, he has a nice forward lean and glides like Brandon Orr did. He could really help next year.

Dude you have been a warrior for us but it might be time to think about hanging up those cleats so you are not walking with a cane the rest of your life

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Here's hoping for an Adrian Peterson-type recovery and he hits the ground running by Fall practice!

Apparently his work ethic during rehab in the past has been incredible, and it takes a high level of commitment to come back from any injury like that. My guess is he is going to work as hard as he can, once he can. I'm still hopeful it's not as severe as previous injuries and that "out for the season" has more to do with how late in the season it is.

Real shame. I was marveling at his power in the ND game. Good kid.
Hope he's able to come back and make an impact.

This really put a damper on my day...so many high hopes for this young man since his first few practices where he was out there rocking junior and senior players. Terrible luck if it is a 3rd ACL. Always a shame to lose a player to injury, but this one really stings. He busted his a$$ to get back and really loves being a Hokie.

Blah.

I know this is off subject, but what was the story on Shai McKensie this year?

Proud Richmond and 70 Hokie

No one really knows for certain, don't think he's healthy for one like others have stated. But his mom also complained about lack of playing time on Facebook after the Syracuse game and he hasn't played since. So it really is a mystery.

In Sam Rogers we trust.

Edit: nevermind

Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.

Sack of shit for the guy. Sorry to hear this . Recover well.

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

I think we have DJ Reid in the pipeline, not sure how he will do out there. But looks like travon, peoples and Sam will get the carries

Hokies, Local Soccer, AFC Ajax, Ravens

Why do we have 3 Marshawn threads?

One was for the rumor, one was for these tweets as confirmation, and one was for the actual TKP article.
