Reports in that there is currently an active shooter on campus. Multiple injuries reported, 7-8, 1 critical.
This is a fluid situation so please follow on appropriate news channels.
Our thoughts are with our Buckeye brethren. The VT community knows this fear all too well.

This is going to be a fluid situation with a lot of "updates" and "news" that isn't accurate. I'm listening to scanner right now.
I'm sorry I just saw were OSU tweeted out an active shooter and it was reported by Fox News and my local station.
No your good brother. It's an active scene, POTENTIALLY 7-8 victims, POTENTIALLY 2 shooters, POTENTIALLY 1 shooter "down". All I can confirm is that Franklin County, City of Columbus, OSU law enforcement have SWAT teams on scene and doing a search.
Yep saw this earlier, heartbreaking, I'm following the situation as well.
jesus christ this is scary
Just saw were 8 people were sent to the hospital.
Saw this a few minutes ago, I pray it ends shortly. This is horrible.
Just heard on the LeBatard show on my way to lunch they took down the shooter
CNN corroborates.
Lots of stuff I'm seeing now on tv, and from people on reddit, is that the shooter pulled the alarm, drove his vehicle into the crowd of evacuating students and started stabbing people.
Saw at least 10 injured and one suspect is dead. Continue to pray for OSU. Just like when it was our tragedy everyone was a Hokie today we are all Buckeyes
Latest being reported by NBC and AP:
There was one suspect, who is now dead, killed by a police officer who was on scene within 1 minute. Suspect drove a car into a crowd of people, jumped out with a butcher knife and stabbed people. 5 injuries are stab wounds. Other injuries from the car. The suspect was an 18-year-old OSU student.
The scene is secure and the threat is believed to be over. But those injured students and the OSU community still have a lot of healing to go. Hopefully the injured recover quickly.
I maybe heard about this late but no major news channels are talking about this right now
The situation is essentially resolved as far as being ongoing, 8(?) people have been taken to hospitals with a few confirmed to be in stable condition. An attacker lured students outside with a fire alarm supposedly and then drove his car into the mass of students exiting, then began swinging a butcher knife at the students injuring several. The attacker was killed.
I heard the fire alarm was legitimate, for a gas leak or something, but otherwise pretty much what I've been hearing. It's hard to know for sure without being there. News sources are often more inaccurate than we realize, and they tend to make even more mistakes when reporting on things that just happened. Literally every time I've seen something reported on the news or in the newspaper that I've been involved with I can spot at least one inaccuracy, usually more.
For sure, that's why I added supposedly to the fire alarm being legitimate or not. Either way, that is more or less the bones of the story. I hope everyone recovers fully and nobody else is seriously injured. Scary situation no matter what.
I actually got really, really quick and what turned out to be about 95% accurate information from checking the /r/cfb thread because multiple Ohio State students and friends of students had information who were there or actively hearing about it.
I guess they just want to be careful in their reporting. /s
