2016 Six Pick - Week Fourteen

... and in a blink of an eye the 2016 College Football regular season is over and it's been pretty damn fun. Granted this season felt a lot better than the last few, that's for sure. Hopefully the feel goods isn't done for our Hokies in this Championship weekend. This year may not feature the sexiest of CG matchups, but looks like quite a few will be very competitive ... then there is the Bama CG.


That's me above shortly after noon on Saturday ...can't wait.

Colorado vs Washington -7.5
9:30 pm FOX

  • Eons ago in the late 80's thru mid 90's Colorado was a player on the national scene, including a Natty Championship. Recruiting trips to Colorado was a mix of early 00's Miami and early Aughts Louisville basketball. The game is the game, yo
  • UDub also has an early 90's Natty and also ran afoul of the NCAA, ending with their HC Don James resigning and the Huskies football program going into purgatory for over 20 years. With both programs on the rise, which, if either has staying power this time?

Pick: Colorado getting the points. Probably a sentimental pick, but they are a fairly salty bunch, i think it's within a TD.

  • Temple HC Matt Rhule has done a bang up job in his four years there. As a former LB at PSU, you know he had an eye on Happy Valley, but it seems old James Franklin has that on lock now. Does Rhule stay in PA pining for a long lost love or does he look elsewhere?
  • By now we've all seen the stat, where Navy punted twice, yes 2x in all of November. They are dialed in. The real gambling line is 1.5 punts in this game

  • Bob Stoops and OU not to be outdone by their lil brothers is gunning for their sixth 10+ win season in the last seven years. In a vacuum, it would seem the discord over Bob's recent season's in Norman is a bit unfounded, but that's looking at the program from a distance

Pick: Okie State getting the points, it will be a close, hard fought game.

  • Seems like 9 weeks ago I was making jokes about putting PSU in the P6, just so I could crap on them before they lost. That went about as well as Bronco Mendenhall playing multiple quaterbacks vs Bud Foster
  • Wisky plays manball with amazing purity, they are led by a fantastic defense, and coupled with an opportunistic run and play action offense. In the weaker B1G Ten division, there is no reason they shouldn't reign supreme

Pick: Wisconsin by a late field goal. This will be their resume making win, in the best conference in 2016.

  • The 2015 Tigers were better, but this is a damn good football team starting to gel at the right time. Other than Watson, the Clemson DL and WR units scare the bejesus out of me. They are coming in with house money and have been in enough big games to know not how to blow it

if i may make a recommendation, central waters anniversary bourbon stout is hands down the best I've ever had (and I love me some bourbon stouts). You'd have to import it out of Wisconsin but itd be worth every penny trust me
