MetLife Stadium will have a new look this weekend: Neutral end zones for the first time. In other words, there will be no "Jets" or "Giants" in the end zone. The reason is because of the quick turnaround. The Jets play at 8:25 p.m. Saturday against the Dolphins, the Giants kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday against the Lions. The tight schedule, coupled with the weather forecast, prompted the decision to go neutral. Each end zone will consist of nine vertical slash marks. It shouldn't affect the Jets; the end zone is a place they rarely see.
For real though, the Jets have to be one of the worst NFL franchises overall, in terms of their age and success. What do you think needs to happen for them to get better?

New ownership and getting lucky on a QB via the draft. They have not had a good long term option at QB since Ken O'Brien. (I loved Chad Pennington, but his shoulder was shot all to hell.)
Is this the right QB class though? Deshaun is going to need a good O-line, which the Jets do not have.
The NFL GMs love drafting mobile QBs behind suspect OLines... If he or Kizer is there- take 'em. Especially, being that they drafted "the cousin" who, I thought was half the qb that some of the guys in this qb class are. Get some 2-5 round interior guys and keep an eye out for a good OT within 2 years via free agency/ draft
The Jets have to be the most pointless franchise in all of sports. Outside of Joe Namath, when have they ever done anything? I don't even understand why people would choose to be Jets fans. After all, there is a historically better team that plays in the same stadium.
At least in baseball, the Yankees and Mets play in different parts of the city.

The years they got to the Super Bowl, they didn't follow it up by going right back to sub-.500 football to piss away any goodwill they had developed with the fans, right? They have had back to back seasons in their history where they finished with a winning record, right?
Yeah, they have a while to go before they reach Carolina Panthers levels of incompetence. And even then, the Panthers aren't the Browns.
As a lifelong Jets fan living in north NJ, this season has definitely been brutal to watch and it hurts. Rich Cimini has been the most narcissistic, hateful, and unreadable espn writer. He's covered the jets a long time and it shows the he absolutely hates this team and can't wait for a better job to come along. I can't take reading the jets blog anymore.

But seriously, the worst part of being an Eagles fan isn't the team. The team is about 40% of it. The other 60% is the merciless trolling every fall by the other fanbases in the NFC East. And if me or any of my brethren dare complain, it's PHILLY HAS TEH WERST FANZ LEL.
I drained the Kool aid dry after our 3-0 start, and now with us trending down and the rest of the division suddenly being good (which, seriously, WTF) I've realized that the team just doesn't bring me joy. In a way, it never has. In the 2000s, I watched them find new and creative ways to not make/win the Super Bowl. In the 2010s, that has devolved into watching them find new and creative ways to not make the playoffs. Now the defense is springing leaks left and right, and it seems that Wentz is in the process of being ruined due to the sieve-like OL in front of him and the lack of weapons at the skill positions, and I have little faith in the Lurie-Roseman masthead to fix things. So I don't follow them (or the NFL as a whole) closely anymore, and I'm trying not to invest myself quite so damn much. I used to post regularly on Bleeding Green Nation (the Eagles SBnation affiliate) under a different name, and after the week 6 loss to the Skins I completely cut that out of my life. That's helped some.

Lane Johnson getting suspended plus the Peters injury really hurt them this year. Pile the complete lack of any competent talent at WR and it was just an ugly mess. There's absolutely no coincidence that the shit hit the fan the second that Johnson's suspension started.
That said, Wentz is the real deal, and things should be a lot better for them down the line. That defense seems to be a lot better than people were giving it credit for, so it allows them the luxury to focus offensively in FA and the draft. With Minnesota going into the shitter after their start, they should have a decently high draft pick that I would suspect they'll use for best skill position offensive talent available. Give them 3 years, and I could see them being a very good team.
Wait, which loss to the Redskins are you referring to? The early season one or the recent one? Sheesh, there are just so many.

But in all honesty, I don't think the Skins win last week if Sproles doesn't get knocked out. That really was the deciding factor.
