"After careful consideration and voting from Andrea Adelson, David Hale, Jared Shanker and yours truly (Matt Fortuna), here is the list of the 25 ACC players who had the best seasons."
Careful consideration by the ESPN ACC writers.........The only Hokie on the list is Jerod Evans at 16. Isaiah Ford isn't on the list. 4 players from Pitt made the list...

Probably want to put "After careful consideration and voting from Andrea Adelson, David Hale, Jared Shanker and yours truly (Matt Fortuna), here is the list of the 25 ACC players who had the best seasons." in quotes. Nearly sent you all of my pent up Matt Fortuna-centric rage.
I know we give ESPN a hard time around here, but my goodness, that really is unbelievable. They stuffed as many Clemson players as they could and 5 Pitt Players but no Ford? Clemson is their golden child and Pitt beat them, so why not prop them up as much as possible in response.
For the record, I'm long past the time of getting upset over these things, but I do still shake my head and how much they confirm their weird bias and lack of due diligence at times. That said, these lists are pretty meaningless, so they probably didn't put a lot of time or thought into it, and I can't really fault them too much for that.
I really don't get the love for Trubisky. He's a good player, but I just understand all of these independent sources putting him above Jerod.
He's awesome when it is 70 degrees or higher and partly cloudy.
I hope he's drafted somewhere that the weather always sucks. The Jets are looking for another QB, right?
Mock draft from SBNation has him landing in Chicago.
As a Panthers fan, when I see Trubisky I can't help but think of Jimmy Clausen.
So what you're saying is that whoever drafts Trub will be so bad next year that it'll get said team the #1 pick the following year and allow them the opportunity to draft their future MVP franchise QB who will eventually lead them to the Super Bowl?
And how many wins the year after?
tl;dr: Whoever drafts Trubs is going to draft Jerod next year.
Trub is Kirk Cousins
Unappreciated by his own team's fans?
He's not good.
Breakdown
He plays for the Redskins so he's automatically handicapped. If he leaves there he will automatically get a +10 ratings bump.
Similar to Kornheiser's thoughts on Strasburg - the Orchid
He's going to be an awful NFL player for two years
When there are fans of OTHER schools asking where Isaiah Ford is, you know ESPN done messed up.
Love Ford just not a sexy exciting pick. But which one of the 2 WR on the list should he be ahead of?
I'd rather have Ford on my team than Quadree Henderson. Henderson's offensive production is more a product of Pitt's system than anything else. Good kick returner though.
Dude is a first team all american. Sorry Ford isn't getting over him
I don't see why he has to be ahead of the other receivers on the list to make the top 25. He has comparable numbers to Mike Williams and Mike Williams is 5. I think Mike Williams deserves to be where he is I just don't get how Ford doesn't make the list at all.
This isn't an ALL-x team, they can put as many of any position they want. They don't have to take a WR off to put one in.
You mean the consensus all American should be off the list. I actually didn't count Henderson as a WR. He is athlete/all purpose. Took back 5 kicks for scores and almost a couple more. Game changer.
I think it's important to note that they didn't say "25 best players" they said "25 players who had the best seasons". We don't have a top5 player in the conference in rushing or passing, although Jerod was top10 in both. Ford I think should be on the list but he's 5th in rec, 4th in yards/gm, and 7th in TDs. He's just a much better player than his stats indicate. None of our defensive players put up particularly impressive stats.
I'm not particularly surprised or upset. We play really well as a team and use a lot of different players.
Woody Baron led Interior DL in TFL, including our friend Dexter Lawrence.
Tremaine Edmunds had 17-18 tfl and a few sacks also.
If it were only stats you would see the LB from UvA and Safety Blanding lead acc tackles
What? No #25 from VT? That guy had a pretty good, if strange season (based on the statline).
Leaving Ford off the list is bad, but leaving Woody off the list is a straight up travesty.
Ford will be on the list next year.
I'll sum up my thoughts on that top 25 list
What about Hodges. How does he not make the list?
... you mean our third best receiver?
some of you guys are Homer crazy. There was not one consensus 1st team all ACC player on the team. This year was result of a large group of guys playing solid ball and a QB that exceeded year 1 expectations. Woody only guy who may have got shafted. imo
Your saying Evans wasn't a better QB than that one from UNC?
No Im saying it was close and Trubinsky kid had name recognition and heisman hype. could have gone either way but not like they had BC QB ahead of him.
They ranked the kid from UNC 10th best player in the conference.
