Would love this info, I may have to go alone as I have no Hokie friends and it's a workday so my Dad may be too busy to take off. Could be a cool opportunity to meet some TKP'ers.

For the 2011 ACCCG, we tailgated with some friends right in front of the bus station, it ended up being pretty nice and it was only $5-$10 if I remember correctly. Also parked there for the 2011 Belk Bowl (wife went to NC State).
It's about a mile walk from the stadium, so it's not the closest option.
We've dropped by peoples tailgates that were like right outside the stadium, but I'm not sure how people get passes for those or if it's first-come-first-serve type of thing.

I just bought tickets! I haven't been to a bowl game since Peach Bowl Hokies vs Bulldogs with Glennon at QB, so it's been awhile. Been saying I'd go if they were in Belk, so here we are. Fastest I've ever bought tix.

Sure did! I am mad though, my friend texted me wanting me to order two more and when I selected the lower level seats again, it offered me section 112 (the 50 yard line) for the same price. Oh well. I'm just happy to be going.
We'll leave Bristol early that morning. I'm not sure if we'll tailgate or not. We will probably hit up places downtown.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Got my tickets through Tech. I would recommend getting a spot near Draught in 3rd Ward behind the stadium. It's a quick walk to the stadium and a big tailgate area.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Driving up from brother's house in ATL that day. Upper deck seats for $45 each after fees. When we get there/how much we tailgate will depend on the weather forecast.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Me and the newly christened Mrs. H_ighlander_okie will be there. It'll be my 3rd Bell Bowl (other two were for Louisville games...whiiich were trash...but not as trashed as I was AMIRIGHT HIGHFIVE). We've tailgated for both...neither of which were great, but the parking was for like $20 and easy walks.

Sat in the club seats for the Louisville-UGA game a couple years ago...you have access to the nice club area inside. It's nice to get out of the cold. Got tv's, decent food, tables, more beer selection in my memory serves me correct and nicer bathrooms.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
seats are wider & have the best sightlines
better concessions with a wide variety of food/drink options
shorter lines
several lounge areas with TV's to hang out in and watch the game if you (or the kids) get tired of sitting in the stands or want some room to spread out while eating

I reserved a parking spot through a website called Parking Whiz.
I chose the lot on West Hill Street. It was $72 and we're dividing that price up between the car. Looks like the lot is 0.3 miles from the stadium, opens at 11:30, and allows tailgating.

For everybody that is interested in supporting VT athletics (hokieclub indirectly), now is the time to purchase tickets through VT. I got 7 last night. Section 113 Row 4. Pretty legit seats if you ask me.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yea I bought 2 last night and the wife and I are in Section 113 Row 6. However my buddy and his wife bought theirs about 30 minutes earlier than me and they are in Section 114. I have no idea how the computer decides what specific section you get within the tier that you purchase.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
That is pretty common when a lot of people are buying tickets for an event at the same time. Can be caused by requesting a different # of seats and/or tickets sitting in carts that then later get released back into the pool.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
The wife and I, and her parents will be there. Section 317 Row 15. Wife and I might be staying in Charlotte to celebrate New Years, haven't decided yet.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Definitely going. I have secured my super secret sweet parking spot, and will walk up to the stadium and buy tickets from the scalper willing to make a deal. If I can't find one (Hahahahaha), I'll hole up somewhere downtown and watch the game on a giant TV and pound brews.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Will hopefully be able to escape work early enough to catch kickoff somewhere with big screens and adult beverages but stuck having to finish up contracts that expire at calendar years end for my office that must be renewed. Hopefully actual kickoff ends up being more like 6pm to help me out here.

Can confirm. While we're just making a day trip, we stayed at this hotel the night before we bought a car. They even had free drinks and snacks round the clock!

A Charlotte Hokie here... and Charlotte native. I will be with a large group tailgating on the corner of Morehead and Tryon Streets; about one Tyrod to Danny Coale from the stadium. If any TKPers want to stop by it would be great to meet some more folks. I know BCO might be stop by.
For parking, Park Whiz (linked in previous post) is a great resource as well as the bowl game website. Hope to see a bunch of Hokies here for the game!

Found this link on the Belk Bowl website and reserved a spot in one of the lots. Looks like almost all the lots are sold out now. If you do grab a spot on this site, you can use promo code b028ya to get $5 off.

318 Club Seats, I got them thru VT ticket office. Cheaper, $135 , Belk $149 . This will be my fourth time for a game there . Never had a problem, it can be tricky getting back on the Interstate system but Every Hokie should go. Make it a Maroon & Orange night !
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
If I am understanding the VT ticket page correctly, there are only a handful of single seats in the lower bowl now. Any requests above 2 tickets goes directly to the Upper Upper Deck now.
Also, annoyed that we could not select our seats and see what was actually available when buying tickets.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Tickets secured! Sec. 321. Ended up going through the Belk Bowl site since I couldn't access Club seats through hokiesports. Individual ticket price ended up being ~$10 cheaper, too.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
according to weather underground the average high is 51 and the average low is 30. Right now, for the 28th (because that's as far out as the forecast goes right now), the high is 52 and the low is 47. I'm going to wager that it'll be in the 50s during the day and still above freezing by the end of the game. Just like I said before.

Got tickets for Warhokie and me as a graduation present (he got his MS from VT, this week). Section 547 row 2. First bowl game ever for me. He's been to an Auburn bowl game or two (Auburn BS).

Just got my tickets through stubhub. $82 after fees for Section 125 row 8. Hate not going through VTTO but had to wait to see what Christmas did to my finances. Anyone else in 125?
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Unfortunately, I'm going to need to leave the car for more like the full day through the game than just a few hours. I may just park at the Epicenter deck and walk over to the stadium area.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
I'm still looking to sell my seats or sell one of them and just drive up and back. But I keep getting below what I paid for them offers or just no offers. I still haven't decided how angry my wife would be if I go up.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Hubs and I are doing the day trip deal. While the current plan is to drive down with enough time to park and walk to the stadium, we'd love to be able to hang out and tailgate with fellow Hokies beforehand. We're happy to bring extra food/beverage/supply items.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
We're planning on getting down there around noon-1. Just gonna public park it more than likely and tailgate. I'd like to think it'll be a big crowd, though I certainly don't expect one.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
If you're looking for a place to hang, try the Epicentre right next to the Hornets arena. Collection of about 6 bars in a 2-3 story contained space about 8 blocks from the stadium. I would think there would be a pretty good crowd over there prior to kickoff.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
It'll likely be at least 5 of us tailgating, so we'll have someone to be around. But I was referring to the ease of which it will be to find parking down there.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Ahh gotcha. I guess the crowd is a little different when its not a monsoon outside.
I'm hoping the crowd isn't too bad. I made it to Charlotte this year for the Panthers-Bucs MNF game, and it didn't seem like it got that bad downtown before kickoff, and that game had to deal with people trying to come in during rush hour. With what will likely be a smaller crowd, hopefully its relatively similar.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Yeah won't be bad at all maneuvering about. Worst I've seen was 2010 ACCCG but we got downtown probably 1.5hr to kickoff, so that was our bad. But yeah I'll update where we are once we get there.
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
That game was a logistical shitshow top to bottom. Uptown was a mess, the bottleneck getting into our side of the stadium was BridgeGate-worthy. Everyone - VT fans, Noles fans - was drunk, and they needed to be since it was 37 and sleet at kickoff. Good thing we won. ))))))
Log in or register to post comments about the Virginia Tech Hokies
Nothing, and I repeat nothing compares to the shit show that was outside Gate 9 getting into Bristol. Scanners went out, so they closed the gate. Proceeded to tell NOBODY and left it to the fans to figure out how to get in. 40 minutes later, and lines not moving at all, they finally got police involved, and just started letting people through without scanning tickets.

Ooooook! We are in a lot on the corner of W 4th and S. Graham. Titan with 4 flags. Good contingency of Tech fans already in lot. Come on by and say howdy.

Well, Chris, don't you know that ALL Hokies are your friends?
For the 2011 ACCCG, we tailgated with some friends right in front of the bus station, it ended up being pretty nice and it was only $5-$10 if I remember correctly. Also parked there for the 2011 Belk Bowl (wife went to NC State).

Meant to post photo of location:
Any Hokies in the Hampton roads area want to go together?
I'm hoping to get down there. Just depends on ticket prices.
For your convenience:
http://www.thekeyplay.com/content/2016/november/29/ticket-information-an...
Secondary market may be cheaper in a couple of weeks, but the lowest ticket price right now from VT's site is $55 for (presumably) nosebleeds.
Yeah I'm going to hold off for awhile and see what happens. HokieTickets is confusing me with their tiers for tickets.
I just bought tickets! I haven't been to a bowl game since Peach Bowl Hokies vs Bulldogs with Glennon at QB, so it's been awhile. Been saying I'd go if they were in Belk, so here we are. Fastest I've ever bought tix.
I'll be there with the wife for our first game of the Fuente era!
Edit: Section 113, Row 6. I'm pumped!!!
Just got 6 tickets in section 114 row 17!
Did you buy them through VT?
I'm in section 114 too. Yes, got them through VT - link provided on hokiesports.com article on belk bowl.
They seem to be selling section 114 right now. I got my 4 tickets there. As soon as Santa brings my Corey Moore jersey I will be set!
was the CM jersey an ebay find?
We're also in 114! Row 6. And I'm so glad we got them when we did. It jumped all the way to 118 (corner of the endzone) after we bought them.
Got my tickets through Tech. I would recommend getting a spot near Draught in 3rd Ward behind the stadium. It's a quick walk to the stadium and a big tailgate area.
Dumb question but can you prebuy parking?
In some lots... http://belkbowl.com/game-day/parking-transportation/
Most lots around the stadium are just pay lots and first-come-first-serve though.
Yes, you can pre-buy parking. This may be a good site for parking. http://parkcharlotte.com/nfl-parking.asp
This could help too.
http://belkbowl.com/game-day/parking-transportation/
Driving up from brother's house in ATL that day. Upper deck seats for $45 each after fees. When we get there/how much we tailgate will depend on the weather forecast.

80/20 going ... just need to figure out details and if i am going to asheville for NYE.
I'll be there solo! Wife can't come, but I have a ticket in 319 (club level) and a reservation at the Omni. I can't wait!
Since it's right down the road from me, I guess I'll go on down there. I'll be in row 3 of section 120.
two rows behind you. should be a good time.
Staying at the Westin, family of 4 sitting in Sec 113 row 14
I'll be there
Looks like I got Club Level Seats through Hokie Club, anyone know what that entails? Can't find anything about Club Level on Blek Bowl website.
Sat in the club seats for the Louisville-UGA game a couple years ago...you have access to the nice club area inside. It's nice to get out of the cold. Got tv's, decent food, tables, more beer selection in my memory serves me correct and nicer bathrooms.
That might be good if I take my six year old.
NFL club section seats are pretty good...

This will be the first bowl game I've attended since the 1994 Gator Bowl. I'm pretty excited to say the least.
Hokie Tickets has your seats if you call them.
Section 112 row 18 seats 9/10 For us.
Will hopefully be able to escape work early enough to catch kickoff somewhere with big screens and adult beverages but stuck having to finish up contracts that expire at calendar years end for my office that must be renewed. Hopefully actual kickoff ends up being more like 6pm to help me out here.
Thinking about making it a day trip from Christiansburg...need to find out if B-i-L can feeds our pups, first...
Anyone suggest a hotel that doesn't cost an arm and a leg
There were some Hilton properties near University area for less than 90 a night.
my boy says stay in pineville and ride the lynx in.
Drury Inn, exit 18, Northlake Mall.... $99 night. Clean, friendly, easy access from I-77. Nice breakfast included
Can confirm. While we're just making a day trip, we stayed at this hotel the night before we bought a car. They even had free drinks and snacks round the clock!

definitely swinging by, if i end up attending.
I'll be there with a good group. Got club seats thru Tech and about 10 parking spots in a lot on Tryon St.
How did you score your parking spots, if I may ask?
Found this link on the Belk Bowl website and reserved a spot in one of the lots. Looks like almost all the lots are sold out now. If you do grab a spot on this site, you can use promo code b028ya to get $5 off.

I'll be nearby in 320! Also got them through VT.
Will be there- my first VT game as an alumni.
will be in Australia for the game... 9:30 am kick off (on December 30th) for me.... bacon, eggs, and bourbon
If I am understanding the VT ticket page correctly, there are only a handful of single seats in the lower bowl now. Any requests above 2 tickets goes directly to the Upper Upper Deck now.
Also, annoyed that we could not select our seats and see what was actually available when buying tickets.
I'll meet y'all up in the nose bleeds. Section 513 row 17.
I think my wife and my tickets are near there. I bought through the ticket office to get a few extra points for the reseating next year.
FYI, it will be 1 point in the system. (For neutral site games, it's 1 point per game, not ticket.)
Tickets secured! Sec. 321. Ended up going through the Belk Bowl site since I couldn't access Club seats through hokiesports. Individual ticket price ended up being ~$10 cheaper, too.
I'm a solid maybe at this point. My work bonus will determine my bowl/NYE plans
My daughter and I will be making the bowl game. Now to find parking....
My tickets were on the porch last night when I got home after a trip. AHHHH so excited!
Sitting 3 rows below the moon with the wife and a friend. Sec 520, row like...23. We're gonna freeze our asses off.
I doubt it..it'll probably be in the 50s during the day and probably still above freezing by the time the game is over
Low 40's with rain on the long term forecast.
So this one doesn't count. Win-Win.
according to weather underground the average high is 51 and the average low is 30. Picked up a couple in the Arky sections at midfield... Though, the amount that are available, I'm sure I won't be surrounded by many...
Now I have to find out where to park. Probably be worth it to just find public parking downtown, pay the day pass, and be done with it.
I just got parking at S. Brevard St for $11. In after 4, out by 11. Works if you're not tailgating.
https://www.parkwhiz.com/p/charlotte-parking/210-s-brevard-st/?event_id=...
