Arkansas TE Jeremy Sprinkle was suspended from the Belk Bowl for reportedly shoplifting from Belk.
Sprinkle was accused of attempting to shoplift items at the Belk department store at the SouthPark Mall in Charlotte on Tuesday, sources said. The Arkansas team was there as part of a function for the bowl.
Each player on both teams had 90 minutes to spend a $450 gift card at Belk on anything in the store. The players also each received a Fossil watch. Sources said Sprinkle attempted to take items worth more than the allotted cost available.

Probably not as much as you think. I'm sure his agent (like he doesn't already have one lined up) and his coaches will trot him out for a public apology in the coming days, he'll go to court and get a suspended sentence or community service and a fine and then he'll tell the NFL guys at the combine that he's learned his lesson, yada yada yada.

He was a graduate student. I am in total agreement that he deserved more than the $450 his lowly undergraduate teammates received. Very disappointed a big man like that couldn't move well enough to outrun / outgun the law.
