Kyshoen sounds like he is in a lot better place mentally, although he doesn't really touch on how far he has come physically. He does sound like there continues to be a significant amount of pain. Hopefully he manages to overcome the pain as he moves forward but it's good to hear he has reached some mental peace.

I really hope he can get to a point physically where he isn't in constant nerve pain.
I know community guidelines prohibit discussion of religion, so I'll just say that I'm very happy for Kyshoen that his faith has enabled him to heal and improve in ways beyond the purely medical. I'd love for him to be able to don a jersey again to play, but I don't mind if he has an excellent marriage and sound mind at the expense of playing football.

no matter how he's doing physically, I'm glad to see he's in a good place spiritually and handling this well. Can't imagine having my entire future upended like that.

Sounds like Kyshoen has used this pain to dig deep and find a depth he was unaware was in him. I hope he is able to live without pain or limitation and be able to enjoy life to the fullest.
When I saw the injury happen, the announcers were kind of playing it as if it was another injury, but I knew it was something awful with how he reacted. Very similar to how Kuechly reacted a few weeks ago, and Kuechly, possibly the toughest dude in the league, had to be taken off by a cart.
I'm glad that Kyshoen seems to be in a great place spiritually. That can only help him in his goal to one day return to playing football. As a Hokie and Redskin fan, that would be pretty cool to watch. If he is unable to do so, it will help him in all other walks of life, as positivity is what drives one's achievements, in my opinion.
Just saying, if the NFL was taking targeting seriously it would apply to offensive players too. Dallas' RB put the crown of his helmet right in the side of Kyshoens head causing this injury. He previously knocked a different Redskin DB out of the same game with a similar hit. Head-to-head contact or targeting is a bad thing....unless it helps put points on the board. Offense sells, so offensive targeting will never be penalized.
