I was gonna say Silas and AJ were the two biggest in terms of team impact but Hooker, Pimpleton, Farley, and Keene will also benefit tremendously.
I was singling out the first two because I whole heartedly believe that a college S&C program far outstrips anything a high school or personal trainer can do for you. They have it down to a science and just a reminder, our S&C coach looks like this:
Side notes: His beard alone makes people make gains. He is officially titled the Associate Director of Athletics for Athletic Performance. And our Assistant Director for Strength and Conditioning for Football is this stud who barely fits in camera frames.
I picked AJ as the second because we need a quarter back. I think Fuente has this eye for QB talent that is ridiculous and has now sent QBs to the draft in back to back years. There aren't many coaches out there that can say that. Giving AJ time to win the locker room and learn the offense could be huge for the 2017 season.
His beard must keep his entire body warm because he never once wore more than a polo on the sidelines. Not even a hat. Even in a hurricane!

I was in class with Nick when we both started working towards getting PT (Personal Trainer) Certified. He really knows his stuff outside of being massive. Also really connected with athletes. Doesn't just suck for them, it is dangerous for them. The condition being caused by the excessive workouts is causing their muscles to break down which can severely damage kidney function. This is way beyond gut check and more like hazard to health/safety or even hazing.
Yeah I didn't read the article but I assumed it was Rhabdomyolysis as well, which is no joking matter. It can cause permanent tissue damage and severely damage your kidneys. We're talking about something that if untreated can kill you.
According to r/cfb comments the S&C coach has been there for a while and has a great reputation and he's never had this issue before. Current football players have come out to state that the workouts were not overly intensive and players were allowed to take breaks whenever necessary.
That leads me to believe this was more the players weren't training within their means, not that the coaches were pushing them too hard/hazing.
Their S&C is Irele Oderinde. He just came to Oregon from USF a month ago with Taggart.
If one player was hospitalized, that's one thing; if three end up in the hospital, that's on the staff.
You're correct, I should have re-read the r/cfb thread before commenting. He has been an S&C coach for a while, not at Oregon though.

Hooker > bush IMO. If hooker doesn't win the job though I imagine JJ will start and bush will be the backup so Hooker can RS.
While I too would love for Hooker to be able to come and make an immediate impact handling the balls, I think we saw last year bringing in a JUCO with experience will likely be the guy in charge.
Watch Evans (4 star JUCO transfer) film versus bush and then look at the stats. Completely different caliber of recruit. Bush wasn't even the starter on his JUCO team but we expect him to start for a major p5 program?
I think Bush was brought in for depth. Unless we bring in some other hotshot I expect Jackson to start.

I think the point of the 2 transfers are to create a bit of separation in years between JJ and Hooker. It'll probably be JJ -Bush - Click - Mumamu with Hooker RS and Willis sitting a year.

I wonder if this holds true for the "pipelines to the top" schools in places like Florida, Texas, and the SEC states in general. Schools that are constantly pumping out the kids that go on to be stars at the top college teams.
If you're talking the IMG Academy, I'd agree that they could likely prep on the same level as a college program. Overall, even an exceptional high school could not compete with the resources and expertise of a Div I Power 5 program.
Not referring to any school in particular. I'm just pondering on where that line lies (that the best high school S&C program is better than a certain level of college).

We can count as many of them until we reach a total of 25 for 2016. I think we had 21 commits sign NLIs for last season but then several of those ended up Greyshirts. Not sure how those guys count if they end up coming in with this class after prepping. That said, as few as four could count towards 2016, but I doubt we will ever see how the school accounts for it. As long as they dont get the NCAA knocking and we get all the talent, I am good with it.

Confirmed by #sauces, Fuente's recruitment of Hooker is identical to Buzz's recruitment of Chris Clarke. Both in their first true recruiting class, they both evaluated the one player (QB or SF) that would be a game changer and went out and made sure they got him.
