Half-price tickets to Georgia Tech game available Jan. 17-18January 17, 2017
BLACKSBURG, Va. –The Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office has announced a "Flash Sale" on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 17 & 18 for tickets to the Hokies' game against Georgia Tech. The sale will feature half-price tickets to the game, which will be on Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum against the Yellow Jackets.
The sale is available for a limited time only. The offer begins on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at noon and ends Wednesday, Jan. 18 at noon. Following Saturday's sell out of the Notre Dame game and the already announced sell out for the Feb. 12 Virginia game, limited tickets are available to the remainder of the Hokies' home schedule. After Wednesday night's Georgia Tech game, the Hokies' next home game will be Sunday, Jan. 29 against Boston College at 6:30 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum.

One thing I will note, this is not the old Georgia Tech teams that we could sleepwalk around. Their new coach has them doing big things. They are 3-2 in ACC play. They have double digit wins over UNC, Clemson and NC State, with losses to Duke and Louisville. Oh and by the way, everyone has beaten NC State except us. Even Boston College beat them by 8.
By the transitive property, Georgia Tech should win by 36 tomorrow night.
Also, instead of putting these on sale, just give them to students. Those are the people who will decide last minute to go to a 9 PM game. Just saying.

I wouldn't put too much stock in BC beating NC State. That was a Wed night, 9:00pm tip in Chestnut Hill. If you look up the definition of "trap" in the dictionary, there's a picture of 9pm in Chestnut Hill.
NCSU is the classic talented-but-poorly-coached teams. They have the players to beat anyone and the coach to weather a 56 point loss to their rival.
this I agree with, there is a reason I usually refer to Mark Gottfried as Gottfired, because I expect it every season. He consistently brings in a top 10 and sometimes top 5 recruiting class and then they do nothing, transfer out or as will be the case with Dennis Smith Jr, likely be one and done. Still, they are 1-4 now in ACC play.
While this might be true, when a team gets to 1-4 in conference play, its a trend rather than a trap. And as for Wednesday night 9 pm games, #goacc on that kind of scheduling when you are East Coast based.
NCST is probably the worst personnel match up for us in the conference. Going on the road, losing your Big Man just before tipoff, we were never winning that one.
They are a bad matchup for us, but I think this season that is actually Louisville for us. Three of their starting five go 6'7, 6'9, 6'10 but are all lean muscle fast twitch guys. The other problem is that Louisville regularly relies on about a 10 man rotation so its a real challenge to get them tired. Two of those bench guys are 6'10 and 7". Pitt as bad as they have been at times is also a nightmare matchup for us.
