Belk Bowl social media game remains strong.

"Exit light..."

haha. i love it

Well both QB's in the Pack-ATL game have ripped out our hearts in the past, so I'm hoping they can both lose??

uva sucks

Fuck Matt Ryan

I'm so happy the GeorgiaDome is going away. That place is the stuff of nightmares for Hokie Nation.

You spelled FedEx wrong

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

One can only dream that FedEx is the next stadium to go.

Hahahaha I hate the Packers so much. I was worried I'd have to deal with a Clemson NC and Green Bay Super Bowl in the same year.

Me too. This game just proves one man teams can't win. Montgomery isn't very good. Their line is meh. And without Jordy Nelson the CBs can easily cover the Packers wide outs. Their defense is horrible. This is exactly how far a team with only a QB can go

Edit: whut? Jordy's playing today? Well that kind of proves it anyway

Welp Matt Ryan is likely going to win the Super Bowl

So... That's pretty fucked

And what makes you think he's gonna beat Tom Brady and the Patriots in the Super Bowl?

There are wolves and there are sheep, I am the sheep dog

Because professional sports hate me this season

Haha sound logic! But in all seriousness you dont bet against brady and the pats in the postseason.

I can't hate Matt Ryan like everyone else. Yeah he broke our hearts but there are QBs I dislike more.

Arkansas blew a 24-0 lead in the Belk Bowl.

I feel the same way

/ducks

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

I was there that infamous night. The way we sat in the cold rain (I say "sat" because some old Hokie a few rows behind me kept yelling at me whenever I stood up) while we took a 10-0 lead down to the last remaining minutes, the way the rain disappeared just in time for him to lead his team to two touchdown drives, the smug look I'm sure he had on his face immediately following the hail mary, and then immediately afterwards the skies opened up worse than they had all night just in time for me to walk halfway across campus. That was probably the most miserable night of my undergraduate life.

Fuck Matt Ryan.

10-0 lead down to the last remaining minutes

This was the problem. Not Matt Ryan lol.

I know, it's easy to blame him and I was a sophomore in high school, but we should've won that game easily considering we only gave up 14 points.

The way our offense was "built" that season, playing in a cold rain wasn't conducive to us putting up a lot of points, especially against a defense as good as BC's. While I agree that we should have put up a few more than 10 points, it doesn't change the fact that I was (and still am) pissed that Matt Ryan was able to torch our defense to the tune of 2 touchdown drives, one for 92 yards and the other for 66 yards, over the last 4:11 of that game.

In defense of our defense. Most of the passes he completed on those drives were after 8-15 seconds of scrambling around, it's damn near impossible to cover that long. Not to mention, the onside kick hit our most sure-handed receiver in the chest and he fumbled it right to BC. I don't hate him for that by any means, that's a difficult ball to catch in a high pressure situation, but it reached a "what else could possibly go wrong" level at that point.

I have to guess that going away from the high pressure, normal gameplan at the end of that game, is one of Bud Foster's biggest regrets. We looked like an immovable wall for most of the game and then we decided to drop 7-8 in coverage every play at the end.

If I recall correctly didn't Foster say that he never switched to a "prevent" defense (which if you watch the film it is clear he did) and that fans should stay in the stands? For awhile there I remember people saying that it showed he wasn't ready to be a head coach.

No matter I love what he has done for VT and the loyalty he has shown.

We stood the entire game on the west side and nobody said a word because it was easier to stay dry standing.

Agreed. It was my first night game of my Freshman year, I was so hype for it. Then it became the worst night of my entire 4 years.

That Lego Batman commercial was hilarious

FUCK MATT RYAN!!!

Worst championship round ever!

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it." - K

Welp, I'm a huge sore loser so guess I'm cheering for Atlanta.
Also, the NFL is really boring compared to college

West Virginian by birth, Hokie by choice

The playoffs have been absolute shit this year.

Outside of the Pack-Cowboys game, none of the games have been competitive.

ok..maybe the pitt-kc game, but it wasn't entertaining at all.

Usually the championship games are more entertaining than the Superbowl...

I really hope that won't be true this year.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

I'm not watching the SB this year. This is fucking awful. An SB appearance by Matty Ice and a 5th championship ring for Cheater Overrated Brady. I say fuck 'em. Good night.

With 15 starters on the injury list, and 6 added during the game, I didn't think my packers were going to win. But at least they showed up in the second half.

I honestly thought the Steelers were going to make a better show than they did.

Now, it ick factor. I would much rather the Brady revenge tour win yet another superbowl than Matty Ice. Go Patriots...

This is by far the worst playoffs in recent memory, the only competitive game was Cowboys-Packers. And if I were a betting man I would take whatever the over is for the Superbowl

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

The steelers chiefs was also a good game. And if I was a betting man, I would have made a fortune. They had the Chiefs by 1.5 pts, and the Cowboys by 4.5. Vegas lost a fortune as EVERYBODY bet against those lines, some with parlays.

Close game != good game.

We are the Hokies. We will prevail. We will prevail. We will prevail. We are Virginia Tech.

Not gonna watch this one. As a Hokie and a Panthers fan, double fuck Matt Ryan and the Falcons. And the Pats are the Pats, so... this is a no win situation for me. Ah well.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!
