Yes! and ..................No!
I don't see why not. I mean, it worked out so well for Devin Wilson /s (edited to add /s)
sarcasm detector is confused
Man, if he committed to it, he could be great at WR
Height, speed, and doesn't have to put the ball in a small hoop anymore...
This is obviously an unpopular opinion, but if he plays out this year and doesn't have any NBA buzz (not sure why he wouldn't, but still), why shouldn't he switch? That size and athleticism alone gets you an NFL draft day call and paycheck.
I don't think anyone disagrees, I just think they want to see him on the Bball court.
Second possible unpopular opinion, if it meant we would win more Football games at the detriment of the Basketball team, then so be it.
Point- Devin Wilson
Counterpoint- Antonio Gates/Tony Gonzalez/Jimmy Graham/Jimmy King
Hell, whatever makes the kid happy and contributes to his future success, I am all for it. If he becomes a big time NBA target, most of those kids leave early anyway.
If he was good enough to get meaningful minutes on the football field, who really cares about basketball. But thats a long shot. Just because he has size, athleticism etc does not mean he would be a good football player. You gotta wanna hit and get hit by guys who have been doing it for years. Along with a lot of other fundamentals. Did he play in HS?
Who are we to tell him no? If he wants to try football, best of luck to him.
If Jimmy from the U can do it, why not Clarke. But Buzz must scratching whatever hair he has left on his head. First he had to fight Tennessee , now Justin Fuente and his staff.
