I've had both Wagyu (translation: Japanese cattle) beef and Kobe beef (a specific type of Wagyu) in Japan, and it's definitely worth the price if it's true purebred Wagyu. It's extremely rare to find here in the US.
It's very rich in flavor and is no doubt worth trying if given the opportunity and the willingness to part with a good chunk of change.

It's incredibly expensive but for a one time experience I think it's worth it to check the bucket list. That being said until I get a lot wealthier I won't be ordering it.

And this wasn't even the Japanese real stuff. This was bred from Japanese cows brought to US because Japanese beef couldn't be sold in US, it was amazing, I can't wait to get to try the real stuff one day.
