Would have to have some significant learning disabilities to have eligibility issues with Maryland considering they were the only take for the Gaddy brothers when it was all said and done. Florida flirted with the idea but was not sure they could get them eligible for this year.

Speculation is that his original commitment was made before Maryland went out and got a commitment from Anthony McFarland, a slightly higher rated RB than Richardson. Best case he was looking at having to split carries with McFarland but likely he would have been fighting initially to make the three deep since Maryland returns 1000 yard rusher Junior Ty Johnson and Sophomore Lorenzo Harrison that went for over 600 yards. He might not have seen significant time at Maryland until his junior year at that rate. At UCF, their top back had 495 yards so he has a chance to possibly start this season.
My understanding is that he never sent his LOI on signing day. He waited to make the decision today.

Would a LOI be like many other contracts where they aren't binding for 72hrs? Meaning they can be rescinded by either party during that time with no repercussions? I have no idea.

I don't know if LOI's follow contract law, and doubt they would.
But for the sake of anyone reading your comment and thinking they can get out of a contract within 72 hours, I'll continue. The "72 hours" clause doesn't apply to your everyday contract. It only applies to very specific types of contracts i.e. a door-to-door salesman that sells you new windows, second mortgages, and a few other scenarios. (This is in no way legal advice, you should contact your attorney if you are trying to revoke a contract)

So he committed to Clemson, decommitted, all the recruitniks had him going to Ole Miss, he picks Maryland out of a final four via a webcast stunt including a weather balloon in the stratosphere ON NSD, then signs with UCF, a school not even in his final 4 the previous day? I'm sure he'll turn out just fine...

I mentioned on another thread that he had some serious academic misconduct issues going on with his high school and Clemson pretty much completely backed off him. I would be surprised if he is actually on an FBS campus in the fall.

McFarland committed a few days before NSD so doubt that. Seems to be grades related.
