As fate would have it, the top play of 2016 according to The Key Play is....
Sam won 55.3% to 44.7%.
So this confirms that Sam is just as unstoppable in a bracket as he is on the field. Looking back, this play embodied all that Sam is. He took a shot while delivering a pin point throw, almost as if his entire career built up to such a moment. At that moment, many of us I'm sure thought he'd never have a finer and career defining moment until his senior day in which one play could not define such a performance.
Let this be another example of all that Sam did for his team.

That was fun. Thanks for putting it together!
The Sam Rodgers legend will live on into eternity.
Enjoyed the brackets!
Who knows, maybe someday people will even learn how to spell his name correctly?
Shite. Have a leg! Posted at a brewery after pounding a few, listening to Shibest talk to the Hokie Club here. Old Meck Brewery... it'll get after ya!
*sniff*
Can you tell us if it was a blowout
Updated! Realized I had forgotten that like 2 mins ago.
I just can't believe it's over. I remember telling folks about him the first year. Keep an eye on this kid. The legend has grown. But now he's gone. Someone should make a 30 for 30 about him lol.
Hope he makes some money then returns as a coach somehow.
Thanks for putting all this together!
In another vein, I knew someone who tried out against Sam. This person said Sam was actually crap and only won the competition because he was a preferred walk on and went further on to explain how he was better than Sam.
Yeah.....
Hahahaha. What an asshat...
Awesome idea Warthog, thanks again!
Great way to rewatch all of the top plays from the season too
Someone else had the idea for top plays, I just turned it into a bracket!
So I see that Sam won the popular vote, but what about the electoral college?

I'm surprised Sam's pass won. I thought the fake punt in the ACC championship was one of the most creative plays I've ever seen. I've seen a running back throw the ball like this before (I think Lefty even drew up a similar play last season), but I can't think of another jump pass fake punt college football history.
Fun bracket, thanks for putting it together.
Rigged! #notmytopplay fake punt hands down!
Alternative Top 10?
I think the Adonis kick six got hosed. That play single-handedly won us that game, both for the points and the momentem.
Agreed, we went from possibly trailing 10-7 to leading 14-7 on that one play; it was a ten-point swing play in a game that we only won by three. No way we win that game with Adonis' Kick Six.
I voted for it.
Congrats to the one and only Fullback to Fullback TD pass ever

The fake punt was definitely the prettiest play of the year and the timing of the call was impeccable.
The fake punt was pretty, but I still love Cam's juke. There are legends of Jalen Elliot's ghost patrolling the six yard line trying to find his ankles. His soul won't be allowed to move on until he finds them, but Cam took them forever. I hear Cam wears them as a badge of honor and a warning to opposing DBs.
The DB from Miami looked like he literally got his ankle broken.
Honestly, that is not even my favorite Sam Rogers play of the year. His behind-the-back going over the middle catch in the ACC Title Game.
This was great! I hope to see it again next year!
