I don't know how to embed the image from my phone however Hokies are projected #8 in the Midwest.
It has us pitted against #9 VCU and then on to a likely encounter with the #1 seed Kansas.
I haven't kept track of VCU at all so don't know what that game may look like but I don't think we escape Kansas if we get past VCU. Especially if we play as sloppy as we did in the second half against FSU.
But it's a lot higher than I was thinking, but I have minimal basketball knowledge so perhaps it's not unexpected. A win against t VCU and a good game against KU would be nice.

Ehh this is more a shot in the dark at seedings not location. We'll probably be a 7 or 8 seed and it'll be interesting to see where we're slotted.
This morning this same link had us playing Arkansas in the first round.
*crosses fingers*
Please don't be in same region as Kansas, please don't be in same region as Kansas.
Kansas is beatable. I'm not saying I would give the good guys great odds to do it. But they just lost to a TCU team that is not nearly as good as the Hokies
They didn't have Josh Jackson in that game. I'd rather play Nova to be honest.
I mean, everyone is beatable, and if any team could do it its absolutely this Buzzketball team, but I'd really rather us be playing any 1 seed besides Kansas. That's a bad matchup for us and we'd have to play lights out to have a shot.
I would want Baylor Oregon or Kansas in that order. Anyone else and it looks a little bleak
I like to think that Duke and Michigan's conference tournament performances have helped lift us off of the 8/9 line. CBS has had us as a 7 for a couple of days now. Right now they have us as the 7 in the midwest playing USC.
If Michigan can hold on, that would turn in to a really nice win for us. As it stands it's still pretty good
Typical...two schools that are 150 miles apart have to travel over 1000 miles to play each other
Don't want to see VCU first round. Their bigs are pretty good and they have some depth.
Watched some of their game today (lost to RI).
That Tillman guy would eat us up on the boards
@Michigan feels like our most impressive win of the year right now.
My vote would be beating Duke. Sure, they weren't as good then as they are now, but nobody will remember that today.
Other projection from earlier in the week or is in the West with Gonzaga. Dunno if that's any better than Kansas.
10 years in the making FAM!
So yesterday I took a look at several of the top ranked bracketologists predictions, and almost all of them have us as a 7 or 8 seed. Some have us playing Wichita St., some have us playing Northwestern, one even had us playing Miami. (?!?!) I think the only region I didn't see us in was the east. So as previously said, it's a crap shoot.
I guess since nobody was predicting us in the east, we shoulda known, huh?
Kinda weird that Gonzaga went 32-1, have a bunch of great wins, and the jury's still out on whether they're a 1 seed.
If Wichita State really gets an 8-10 seed, the analytics nerds (like me) will raise hell.
Gonzaga also plays in about the 9th best conference in the country. They were expected to go undefeated, or at worst to lose only to Saint Mary's. Anything less was considered enough to put them in the conversation for a 2 seed.
Gut instinct: ACC is rewarded with higher seeds than expected. UNC and Duke 1s, FSU/be/Lville all 3s, uva a 4, vt and Miami 6s, Wake a 10.
It would be funny if the committee left us out for old time's sake.
9 seed against Whisky
Winner plays Villanova
That's a shit draw for us
Reminds me of 1996 when we were an 8 and ended up having to play eventual champ Kentucky in the second round. Wisky is tough, they've been struggling lately though and had to play 3 games in 3 days so hopefully our extra days of rest will pay off. Plus, playing the Wahoos twice yearly should prepare us for their system.
Well that didn't pan out as planned. Like the other bracket against Kansas better
Oh well. Least we're in
I think Wisconsin will be about a 5 point favorite.
