6 points in the first quarter on two 3s. Got blocked at the end of the quarter on a dunk attempt after making a nice move to the rim.
Really pretty hesitation and drive to the basket for a bucket for NAW in fourth quarter
Alsu discussion ran to the Phil Knight Invitational that is next thanksgiving. This tournament is going to have 10 of the last 14 national champions. Pretty unreal.
I can't find an official box score. However I think NAW had 10 pts and was 3 of 5 from the field, 2 for 3 from 3, and 2 of 2 for free throws. He had at least 3 assists and 1 steal.
Ben's analysis: this is the first time I've really watched him and he looked good playing with and against future NBA players. He played a lot of minutes and seemed to be on the floor for all of the critical moments. Offensively he can shoot just like I've heard and was able to get to the hoop and create for others. My one criticism was that he seemed to be just watching the game around him defensively, but he became really aggressive when the World team went to a trapping defense in the 4th quarter. Overall he played within himself while a lot of guys in that game didn't. He looks like a Buzz OKG for sure and I think will fit in flawlessly next year.
If anyone else saw the game, what did you think? (Robert I'm especially asking for hoop wiz insight here).
I didn't watch the game but his shooting stats weren't as good as you thought.....
