(OT) Star Wars Episode 8: The last Jedi Teaser

I know I am not the only Star Wars enthusiast here. Just saw that the new trailer has dropped. Thoughts??

Why the fluck are those ships trailing / creating red plumes!? Seems like bad military tactics unless they're a weird smoke screen started early.

I think it's a race.

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

Then that's just as bad. Creating unnecessary drag for yourself.

It looked like the soil itself was kicking up that red color, because the fighter isn't trailing any out until it touches the ground.

Unless the premise is to create a giant red smoke screen or something for forces behind them

Which begs the question why is it dragging on the ground? You're just creating drag for yourself! Even if it was a race and / or a fighting scene.

it's clearly meant to be dragging. There is no reason to a) have whatever that is protruding down below like that or b) to fly so low while approaching walkers. the one ship crashes on the deck just trying to get low enough. so your guess is as good as any, smoke screen, messes with the targeting sensors... who knows. But clearly on purpose.

Looks amazing. My question is this:

The voice at the end saying "It's time for the Jedi to end"... was that Kylo or Luke? or someone else altogether? I didn't think it sounded like Kylo's voice

I assumed it was Luke.

"I thought the kid right there you're talking to right there played his nuts off."

Yeah, they showed him while it was playing, but with no context, I just didn't want to believe it was him.

That line began with showing Kylo Ren, introducing him as the speaker, but when he said "to die" it shifted to Luke. Also, I'm fairly confident that was Kylo Ren speaking. It sounded like Adam Driver. The voice sounded different than the one at the beginning, which I thought was Luke.

Haha well damn, I thought they sounded different, but I thought the exact opposite of this

Haha well, I guess this is the whole point of trailers for fans. We dissect 90 seconds of film to extract any amount of information about the movie.
EDIT: Every single article online is writing that Luke is the one saying all of the lines in this trailer. Now I think I'm going crazy because that sounds exactly like Kylo Ren to me saying "it's time for the jedi to end." Mission accomplished trailer, I'm now spending way too much time on this and have watched the same 2 minutes 5 times.

It's definitely Luke speaking through the entire trailer.

If you watch the silhouette of Luke in the cave, his mouth is moving to say that line.

Alright, I have hearing problems. Nothing new

The internet says it was Luke.

I love a good nap. Sometimes that's all that's getting me out of bed in the morning.

Isn't it obvious?

The first poster is out as well, and although this really reminds me of the original Tron poster, I think this looks really good.

I cannot emphasize how much their faces not being lined up bothers me it's making me cringe WHYYYYYYY

Directions from Blacksburg to whoville, go north till you smell it then go east until you step in it

IMO that would've made it look worse. That type of poster is wayyyy overplayed.

"I thought the kid right there you're talking to right there played his nuts off."

"It's time for the Jedi to end"

Anyone else think that Luke finally realizes that bringing balance to the Force means no living Sith OR Jedi? It could lead to one hell of a struggle for him to kill Kylo, Rey, and himself.

I'd say that's a little too dark for Disney, but I feel like with Rogue One and The Force Awakens they haven't pulled punches.

The more likely answer is that the line is out of context in the trailer. Probably him quoting someone or talking about Kylo and Snoke's endgame.

If anybody's interested in a little explainer video (not really what I would consider spoilery, but he does discuss a lot of material from other sources, so if you want to remain blissfully unaware, maybe don't watch it):

"Exit light..."

lol is this where we are now?

We have a trailer that comes out at noon. By 2:30 we already have an explanation video thats 5x longer than the trailer up that gives behind the scenes details on everything that's going on within the trailer?

Don't get me wrong, but this is the kind of ridiculous overhype that sees good movies labeled as disappointments.

I take these sorts of things as "somebody's opinion and speculation" mostly. Enjoyable to watch, but the modern equivalent of sitting in the high school cafeteria talking about what you think a movie is going to be about.

Found a newer better version of the poster guys
