Virginia Tech secured its third verbal commitment of the weekend on Sunday. Defensive tackle Cam Goode opted for the Hokies over Rutgers, Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Michigan State among other Power Five programs.
"Thanking God for all his glory, all these amazing blessings, and the situation that I have been put in," Goode shared via Twitter. "I couldn't do it without my parents, siblings, loved ones, and friends. Would like to thank my coaches dearly for putting me in this position to succeed as a Student-Athlete at St. John's. Extremely thankful beyond measure for all the coaches who have recruited me throughout this long process. It's time for me to make a decision as I enter into my senior year. With that being said; I am excited to announce that I am Fully Committed To Virginia Tech."
Tech also received pledges from offensive lineman John Harris and defensive end Eli Adams on Saturday.
The 6-0, 322 pound St. John's College HS (Washington, DC) product was offered by the Hokies while on an unofficial visit to Wake Forest. (But seriously do yourself a favor and read about the zany game of phone tag Goode, Justin Fuente, and Charley Wiles played back in February.)
The 247Sports Composite rates Goode as a 3-star prospect.
"They just see me as a defensive specimen," Goode told The Key Play in March. "I'm 322 (pounds), and somebody that can move sideline-to-sideline. And they just keep calling me twitchy in texts, and I'm, like, oh man, if they're calling me twitchy, that means I can move fast and I feel like I can most definitely be a dynamic player for their team and their type of defense and they always bring that up to me."

What a weekend!
#15 class in the country on 247
Coach Fuente is now flexing his recruiting muscle, and we're lovin' it.
Justin Fuente walking around Blacksburg after this weekend
Hot-ass weekend, hot-ass program. Mmmmmmore like

Also, extra (imaginary) leg for that screen name! I love imagining that there are at least four other 'jimbojew' TKPers on here hahaaaa
I'm giddy. It's so lit, FAM!
3 stars for football. 5 stars for pun potential
I came here for a Goode pun or two and I wast disappointed.
Dude nice! I also Cam here for a Goode pun or two!
Big commitment here as he wore under armor in high school, but was willing to switch to Nike.
Cam I get a "hell yeah?"
Such great smiles by those two! A warm welcome to Mom and Dad Goode and their whole family! Your newest Hokie family cannot wait to help you cheer for your young fella! It's such an easy trip down from DC; hope to see you at as many games as you can attend! GO HOKIES!
They call him twitchy.
Twitchy is a GOODE thing!
We are having a Goode recruiting weekend. Hokienation just got a Goode one. It's all Goode !
Swwweeeettt...the next Tim Settle...Goode timing as we need some DT for the now and future.
He is about 4 in. shorter than Big Tim, but he is a load more physically Sobsczak when he first got VT.
Goode times.
So let's see about a 2 deep in 2 years.
Zion DeBose, Tyjuan Garbutt
Tim Settle, Cam Goode
Robert Porcher IV, Joe Kane
Houshon Gaines, Eli Adams
Me Gusta
Plus Trevon Hill
Barring an injury situation (knock on wood) I highly doubt Timmy is still around 2 years from now.
you think Big Tim leaves after this year?
If he's still here exactly 2 years from now then he's preparing for his redshirt senior season. If I had to guess I would give him this coming season and the next.
Staff would be very surprised if he left early. They're preparing for a certain pair of brothers to move on after this year however....
Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Oh no I was saying I expect him for another 2 seasons but not a redshirt senior season.
Oh ok leaving after his 4th year, that is a possibility.
If they get a first round grade then I can't blame them.
That's just NASTY!
Has anyone seen the UNC board regarding us grabbing NC talent this year? I know North Carolina usually is deep with talent so it may not really mater. Just wanted to see if anyone had heard anything. Most of the NC recruits we've snatched this year are in Wake Forest backyard
Inside Carolina is claiming that the talent that we're stealing from their state isn't that good anyways.
Figures. I see they stole 4* DE outta Richmond. For some reason Benidictine HS in RVA always sends talent outra state
A LB from BHS just committed to Pitt, don't think he had good guys offer though.
I'd imagine their boards looks something like, "They're not that good, star ratings and scout reviews aren't that important. These other guys fit our system better."
Also, "it's raining somewhere."
Mihota, Hill, Gaines, Debose, Belmar, Minor, Burke, Proctor, Garbut
Settle, Walker, Taylor, Hewitt, Fulwood, Sobczak, Porcher, Glaze
That's a lot of talent right there so in 2 years maybe the guys signing now may just be seeing the field in a limited role. I love the way the D-line is looking and I'm sure these guys may switch between DE/DT. However attrition and NFL will no doubt make the 2 deep possible.
What is depth at LB looking like this year and next year? We got a lot of recruits for ILB and OLB right now with no college game experience.
Sobczak not on roster .
I know but there is talk he may be back.
I said it before...
We're changing your name to "Damn"!
3 Big Uglies in one weekend, nice grab. Gotta win them trenches
This weekend brought the beef to Blacksburg. Keep it up.
