I'm surprised there's that much left. Must be because the students are gone for summer.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

If that's a picture of the supply at Lane Stadium North, then they have horrible inventory control. Because that's more cases than fans at their Spring Festival...

How else do you think those fans get through a game

By not going to a game in the first place.

"GO BACK TO YOUR ROOM LITTLE BROTHER, THE CUP IS COMIN’ ON HOME!”

Is his shirt & bow tie tucked into cargo shorts

Worse probably - I'm willing to bet they're tucked into his underwear.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Is that the underwear that turns water into Zima?

Reel men fish on Wednesdays

I'm willing to bet they're tucked into his underwear.

Gross skid marks on the shirttail!

Even when you get skunked; fishing never lets you down. 🎣

They stay at their tailgate until mid-first qtr, leave at halftime to go back to the tailgate, come back after the 3rd qtr starts (they have a second ticket), then leave mid-fourth qtr to go back to the tailgate. And if you're thinking "Doesn't having a second ticket mean that the official attendance is inflated?", you're right.

Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in bad humor.

Surprised there's any still on the shelf

edit: damn, got beat by 2 minutes

What exactly is Zima? A shitty wine cooler? Something akin to Mike's Hard Lemonade?

Apparently its like a shittier, worse version of Smirnoff Ice

Bros Zimaing Bros

I would describe it as combination of all the things wrong with a Bud Light lime-a-rita and wine spritzer made with a sweet white wine.

Sometimes we live no particular way but our own

Just reading that gave me a stomach ache.

I believe it tastes like the Hokie Bird's testicles. (Since the wahoos think the Hokie is a castrated turkey I think we should just tell them that Zima is where all of the balls go).

But seriously, as someone who has never had one, my guess is its like an alcoholic sprite mixed with the taste and bitterness of defeat.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Having tried one when they first came out, I can state that you are correct. They taste just like an alcoholic sprite. The bitterness of defeat hadn't leeched into them yet, at that time.

"Nope, launch him into the sun and fart on him on the way up"

"11-0, bro"
-Hunter Carpenter (probably)

Having been in school when they were first introduced, I can confirm the alcoholic Sprite description.

I can confirm this statement. I was introduced to alcoholism in the early 90's thanks to Zima. Luckily I quickly graduated to beer and drugs.

If you really want to spice it up, throw a watermelon Jolly Rancher in one of those babies and put a Dave Mathew's CD on repeat. Happy Thursday!

My memory from the late 80s: If you mix enough vodka and orange juice with it, Zima is entirely drinkable. But the next morning.....

Edit: ok further reflection had to have been grad school so early mid 90s... it sucks getting old!!

Well, at least they sent it to the right place.

I'll know they are serious about that marketing when I see the valpak coupon packaging a 6 pack of Zima and two tickets to a Hoo football "match".

"If you buy this beverage, your attendance is MANDATORY at the football match on Saturday. Light refreshments to follow."

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

So Zima is back before da U too?

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Just like da U, its a limited time (season) release.

You made me giggle like Ron.

Have a leg.

The pallet, stacked high with boxes full of the medicinal, vaguely citrus-y malt beverage, was photographed while sitting in the front driveway of University of Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall. Coach Mendenhall stated plainly that he had no idea where the delivery came from, but admitted to "expecting to break down and start drinking them somewhere around October 1st."

When reached for comment, Oklahoma assistant coach Ruffin McNeill called it his "best peace-out gift ever. Ever."

When was Zima big? Because the people of Dayton Ohio are way too excited about this coming back. Beer parties, bars only serving Zima For a a whole day.

I think it was mid 90s and I wonder why Dayton is excited, I grew up there and it's pretty blue collar. What are you doing back there?

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Not drinking Zima, I hope.

Zima was around in my high school years - late 90s. And they made great spitters when the girls would finish one. On a particularly memorable occasion, a buddy and I were chatting at a party when a younger lady friend of ours walked up with a bit of a buzz and asked what he was drinking. He looked at his 1/10 full darkened zima bottle and replied "Zima Gold". She snatched it and swallowed that gravy. It took her about 2.5 seconds to realize what she had just done and she took off for the bathroom. Man, the good ol' days.

Sucks for her, that's disgusting.

I work in C'ville. My daily entertainment is listening to the ads for loluva football tickets. "Still plenty of good seats left!" they say. And *cheap*.

The best is when they play the snippet from their play-by-play guy who says "Don't look now, but the Hoos are back on top!"

If you wrote that on a card, put it in an envelope, and gave it to Johnny Carson doing "The Great Carnac", he would say "Something not said often at an loluva football game."

I love seeing their failure. Am I wrong? Should I be feeling schadenfreude?

Nah!
