But seriously, I'm hopeful that the number does indeed keep going up. I know we've past the renewal point for a bunch of early entrants to the club and I've only noticed a dip in the numbers once. To 1000 members...and beyond!!

How did y'all decide whose events to go to when they had events he same time?
My folks had four girls and me. All the girls did all the same activities whether they liked it or not: ballet, piano, voice lessons. Not until high school when they could just stay after and take the activity bus home did they really get to pick what they wanted.
We let them decide what they want to do but we make them pay 1$ of the fee. Makes it real to them, gives them a stake and let's them know things cost money. Oldest does competitive gymnastics middle two just do fun instructional and baby doesn't do anything yet. Oldest wants to do soccer, cheer and cooking. We signed her up for week long games to try them this summer so we shall see how much we are getting into this fall.

I've never thought about the paying a dollar, that's really smart and educational!
It started when the oldest told my wife "just buy another something" that she she dropped and broke. We decided we need to explain that stuff costs money.

You messed up when you exceeded the number of babies that allowed you and your wife to stay in man coverage. Now you have to play a loose zone.
To be honest man coverage ends after one for at least 8 hours a day (assuming only one of you works). My wife's been in zone since number two came into the picture.
The scheme doesn't change just because you blew your assignment.
I always played deep safety in a prevent D.
My wife got very good - you have to be both nice and pushy -at arranging carpools. We got to know the parents with younger kids taking the oldest around, and on down the line. We went to the ones where it was our turn to drive, or we could not work ride sharing. I also worked up lots of credit by volunteering to coach, or help coach, and picking up and taking home a truckload for practice. Most Rec sports and the Y are very good at making sure the schedule will work for you to coach more than one age group.
We divided and conquered. Wife would go with one and I would go with the other. Typically this was she with the daughter and me with our son. Since I was coaching many of our sons sports, that made the decision easy. Also, once the event you go to is over, head directly to the others event (if it was reasonably nearby and schedule dictated it) to let all of our kids know that we are both onboard all that they are doing. Its a busy schedule, but so worth it in the long run. Our kids didn't get into any serious trouble and they both got some college scholarships out of it (son: USAFA football and daughter MTSU Cheerleader). What a ride it was! Fun stuff (when we had to travel for the kids events many of the parents were great to party with!)!
I agree 100% about it all going so fast...too fast. For the most part I raised 7 kids (yours, mine, & ours). Hockey, swimming, softball, baseball, basketball, football, horseback riding, skating lessons, golf, sailing, etc. My youngest is now 17 and a rising senior, so I have just a year or so more of baseball, football, and maybe basketball. I will definitely miss it all when it's gone.

That's exactly it. Related, I didn't initially realize how much value the registration number meant to people. When those TKPers dropped off the list, it bumped everyone down. I had to rework its display (minor but important change) to keep everyone at the same number.
You should put the abandoned numbers up for auction. Somebody might pay more to have the right number.
I'm reaching out to my buddy in Raleigh today to get signed up... he's a HUGE VT fan and loves this #NC2VT movement; especially the whining from the NC ST and UNC fans he works with.
Make it a great 4th and celebrate our countries independence and join the Key Players and help keep independent Hokies coverage going.
