+ Bradburn.

VT Class of '12 (MSE), MVBone, Go Hokies!

Hunter, he said will play at least to start on Special Teams. I know a few people expected him to have a starting defensive role.

Hooker, the future is now

I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction:
“I served in the United States Navy"

Not surprised to hear about all of the WRs on that list. Holston being on the list definitely signifies the lack of returning RB experience.

I think Holston's emergence also has a lot to do with him just being physically ready to play right now at 5'11 220. Fuente mentioned that earlier in the presser, that he just has the size to play immediately. I think he's got a powerful one-cut running style that Fuente identified early in the recruiting process. He has a knack for hitting the hole fast or getting to the edge on the speed option, turning upfield, and hitting that second gear. I can see him getting significant playing time this year.

I would also think it indicates he is showing the ability to pass block and catch passes as well. RBs will need that in this offense. I remember TKP discussing that Holston, though only a 3 star, was coming from a very competitive highschool football area in Georgia. It appears he was indeed more well developed than some of his freshmen teammates.

In a related note, not much commentary from the coaches on Terius Wheatley.

I was wondering the same thing about Wheatley. He looked really good in the spring game in my opinion, but I haven't heard him mentioned at all in the past month.

Don't care whether Peoples/Holston/McMillian/McClease start/get the most carries as long as our production is better than it was last season.

Well that production is gonna dependent on who starts presumably. Just have to figure out who is the best of the bunch.

Holston might not even be the "best of the bunch" but if he can prove he's #2 or #3 of the bunch that probably means no redshirt.

Side note, I am hopeful that the running backs perform better this year. If Dragon is healthy to start the season maybe he'll recover from his sophomore slump, or maybe Holston proves himself an upgrade.

Grimsley is going to surprise some people.

Surprise them in an Isaiah Ford kind of way?

FIRST DOWN, HOKIES!

I think a lot of people just forgot about him with all of the hype around Farley, Savoy, and Pimp to a certain extent. Has probably been the most impressive freshman overall so far this fall.

Lafayette represent

Would you say he's looking like a Hezekiah of a player?

Add Oscar Bradburn to the list?

We won't punt so he won't play.

BREAKING: Dylan Rivers is your starting quarterback.

I listed all the freshman Fuente mentioned, but the emphasis is a lot of frosh are set up for real PT on offense.

If this is true I'm really worried Kurt Benkert might transfer.

Yes, really. Because I'm STILL laughing at your post that started this.

It's a tribute. Or a homage. Your choice.

Is that the official gif of Kurt Benkert?

When it gets to fuckUva week are we going to have a three page thread that takes 45 minutes to load because it's just hundreds of posts with surprisemotherfucker.gif?

New Sigline: lol it's football season.

the truth - Dylan Rivers will be in the UVA backfield more than Kurt Benkert during this year's commonwealth cup.

Now this meme I can get behind

21st century QBs Undefeated vs UVA:
MV7, MV5, LT3, Grant Wells, Braxton Burmeister, Ryan Willis, Josh Jackson, Jerod Evans, Michael Brewer, Tyrod Taylor, Sean Glennon, and Grant Noel. That's right, UVA. You couldn't beat Grant Noel.

Kurt Benkert transfer joke? Now that's something you can put all your legs toward.

If Benkert transfers in, Lawson will probably transfer out

Lil' Pimple is the sleeper of this group. Got to camp in the Spring and has more upside than CJ Carroll and will be starting by week 4 (if not week 1).

I'm honestly not sure C.J. or Pimp will ever be an every down "starter" with the blocking liability that they could be. I think we will see a good bit of both of them when it's all said and done but ultimately they will be role players.

Using /s is for cowards.

Dylan Rivers? Special teams?

Personally I'd say he's #3 Backer at best this season, behind Tremaine and Shegog. At least for the first half of the season.

I thought Grimsley's tape was very impressive. He didn't have a lot of big time offers, but he looks good on film. He could be a bright spot on offense this year. For some reason I think Jalen Holston could be a Knowshon Moreno for us this year. Don't know why I think that, not so sure they are even similar in style, but I can see him being huge for us as a true freshman.

I saw mention of a personnel grouping with Jackson, Holston, Pimpleton, Grimsley, Savoy, and Keene, all freshmen. That could get interesting.

1st, 2nd or 3rd team reps? Bodes well for the future, but hesitant to read too much into it in summer practices.
