I'll be there next Sunday. Bub's Dive Bar is a great atmosphere, 2 blocks from beach, and the owner is a Hokie alum. They sell rails, which is favorite among the TOTs faithful.

I'm at SD every few months for work, and I go to Bubs's at PB at least once per trip. Great atmosphere in general, good food, and lots of Hokies show up to watch football games. Highly recommend the spot. Bubs at the Ballpark is basically the same place but much bigger by Petco Park, but that one doesn't show any affiliation with VT whatsoever.

The local chapter tried to make Bub's at the Ballpark the VT basketball location right after it opened. Didn't really catch on. Maybe they'll try again.

Watched the 2007 game vs. Clemson there. Wife (girlfriend at the time) found out about it. I may have realised immediately how far I was outkicking my coverage. Can confirm with all above: great place!

Bub's is great. Try the Steaky Steakums. If any of yall want to get active in the Hokie Club out there, I am closer than I want to be with the Chapter President. I can get you his information; they are always looking for more people and do some pretty cool stuff out there.

I've been in SD for two years but missed both football seasons due to deployments (aweful luck). I'm going to have to check this place out this year.
I will have to swing by this year to be around fellow Hokies. Glad you got home safe from the deployments.
