They use the term "reveal" rather loosely. More like extended teaser unless I am missing something.
I feel like these close up "reveals" are a set up for something.
My guess is that those sneaky equipment managers will pull a fast one on us at some point this season, using the close ups as a smoke screen.
The conspiracy theorist in me says the shoulders are red and blue with live bald eagles mounted on them.
I know it's a white out (which I don't like anyway) and I was expecting it...but why do we wear our away jerseys for a home game? We only get 6 chances to wear "our" colors. Why give one away?
This times a million. And now its 2 home games of white. Why? What's the point of not wearing our home jerseys? If you want military appreciation then make it with our primary colors.
Never like white helmets and I especially never like full white uniforms. Boring and nothing VT about them.
We should get rid of the white out altogether. It always looks terrible when we do it because half the stadium wears maroon or orange anyway.
I think the last two times I went, it rained, so it was Rainbow Effect anyway with all of the ponchos.
That, and trying to shoehorn it in with Military Appreciation and Corps Homecoming just isn't a great idea. Especially since the Corps alumni marching on the field are wearing a maroon polo and khakis, and no one's changing when they get in the stands.
I've always thought it was hilarious that it rains on White Out games. It's like the University is scheduling an annual wet t shirt contest.
Perhaps this is a way to boost attendance?

Agree! I think the White Effect is stupid. It is a PSU thing. I don't mind the Maroon and Orange Effects, but drop the White Effect.
I love seeing our team in maroon at home, and while I thought the Hokie Stone look was cool against Delaware, we have not worn maroon at home yet. HOPEFULLY all maroon will be worn against Clemson.

I was all on board this train too (and I still am really). But the fact of the matter is that recruits like to have all these different looks and jersey combos. Unless your team is Alabama or Penn State, they will probably where multiple different looks throughout the year. I don't think its changing anytime soon. I've stopped worrying about it.
I mean heck, we've worn 4 different combos in 4 games this year.
Fully understanding of recruits liking jersey alternatives. But do not like white jerseys ever. Maroon helmets, tops and white pants i am good with. Just not all white and preferably not white helmets.
Most important, no white at home, ever. If you want to do alternate jersey for home game do black or gray. The original school colors and both will, and do, look badass with maroon and orange.

Random 1: I'm assuming Klempson fans will be wearing mostly purple next week (?), but there will probably be a lot of orange mixed in there, which will look pretty cool for us zoomed out.
Random 2: Even though I don't like the orange, I thought it'd be cool to do an orange/maroon stripeout game similar to PSU's navy/white stripeout. That could be pretty sweet looking?

OK, I agree with all of the above posters that going all-white for a home game is less than ideal. However I'm all for us rocking the full Stormtroopers on more away games. I think the all-white is clean.

Boss. I remember I was walking to class and there was a big crowd in between Squires and the GLC. I wandered over and they had a stage set up and Nike was doing the jersey reveal. Danny Coale and Tyrod were up there wearing the new white Pro Combats. They looked tough then and still do now.

At the risk of being seen as the most diabolical hater this side of the Mississippi, I must say that I really do not like these unis (I guess mostly the helmets) at all. Any time we (or anybody else) do a play on the "American flag" texture, it just looks cheap and forced.
Wish we'd just rock maroon and orange.

Helmet uni combo looks retarded. Just my opinion but the closeups on tv look horrid.
