I won't be able to go to the game but if there is anyone looking for a sign idea that does not yet have one, may I give a suggestion. I know it's popular to make Venmo signs at Gameday since that one guy did it for beer money and ended up with 25k? Anyways if anyone would like, (I believe there are some stoolies on here who recognize this name), but the Venmo is @Unclechaps (again not my Venmo). He is a former Marine and Purple Heart recipient, and all around good dude. If he gets enough money (What i'm hoping it being on gameday would do) it would probably go to his favorite charity K9sforwarriors, and if not (like it only ends up $30 max then it may just go to a full body red or whisky or what ever that handsome bitcc drinks). I know non-stoolies may not get alot of what I said but if anyone is looking for a sign idea I believe this is a good one that almost certainly goes to a good cause.

That's my bad I should have included it, i'm not sure that K9sforwarriors has a venmo but 100% can be donated too, also I believe that my initial thought was 1) put a name to something yo get more traction B) he works for barstool which is also coming to VT for their gameday show later in the day so a lot of eyes are on VT throughout the day, and III) if a random college kid can do this for beer money I just thought i'd throw this out there. For context he did said his venom was open one weekend and ended up with 30k which resulted in two service dogs. Overall yes it would probably be a good idea to include both on the sign.

EDIT: I'd ditch the underlines since it really doesn't add anything. The white background makes it sort of readable, but orange is always going to be hard at a distance.
The reason a lot of meme generators use Impact with a black outline and white lettering is that it is literally readable super imposed over any image. No need to reinvent the wheel here. If you want it to be Hokie-specific, replace the black outline with maroon and the while with orange and it still works.

Do we know where the Gameday set will be located? In 2005 they were under Torg Bridge, and in 2007 they were across from Lane, I think on the Lacrosse fields.
I assume they won't do Torg bridge and they will try to keep it close to Lane.

Drill field is a mistake, IMO. When they pan out, it could make the gameday crowd appear small (people do not realize how big the Drill Field truly is). And being that far from the stadium is a little weird. Oh well, I won't be able to make it there in time anyway.

With it being an 8pm game, I'm not sure if proximity to the stadium is important. Unfortunately there's not a good space near the stadium to have it. I absolutely did not like the set up in 2007 on the lacrosse fields.
I say they build a tree top village, do it atop Stadium Woods canopy and we all on the forest floor act as Ewoks with our signs and chants of war and valor.

It might be a little crowded, but I really hope they set up near the soccer field in Hokie village. It would create a great atmosphere over in lot 1. Would also be ascetically (I think that's right) pleasing for those watching on the TV to see Lane in the background.

I was curious about this as well, because it will factor heavily in to my decision in attending. Bringing my girlfriend to the game, and it's her first time in Blacksburg. There's a lot to do/show, so I want to make the most of our time there. Anyone know when people start to show up? Is there a policy on making it in to whatever "holding" area they have? Can you just kind of show up and leave whenever?

I suggest doing game day... bring a fanny pack full of airplane bottles, when you've had enough of Game Day, you can leave and walk to Hokie Grill to get a delicious carved turkey sandwich. Then, walk around campus and give her the tour while maintaining your buzz via fanny pack airplane bottle stash.

I know it's a semi fashion faux pas, but fanny packs have yielded multiple valuable uses for me... most of which involve smuggling airplane bottles.
and when I say fanny pack, I typically use a "runner's belt", practically the same thing, just thinner and easier to hide, although a traditional fanny pack would hold significantly more, but would be easier to spot.
the skinnier runner's belt will hold 4 to 5 airplane bottles and can be worn under the shirt without being noticeable.
they also come in very handy while traveling abroad when you don't want your money, credit cards, etc. pick pocketed

In '05 gameday was setup by Torg Bridge. I was in Thomas Hall (upper quad), and we camped out all night, played touch football under Torg bridge, etc. Then at about 4 am we decided to go grab an hour of sleep in the dorm and come back out because it wasn't too crowded yet. Naturally we slept through all of Gameday, and then Marcus Vick fumbled his way to his first loss.

I want to go to gameday (I have a sign) but I know nothing about it. I'm getting a whole bunch of different suggestions on when to go and I'm also hearing there are two different sections for fans to stand in? which one is best if i want to be on TV with my sign the most. I've heard I need to get there by midnight. If that's true, is it like a line I stand and I can just bring a sleeping bag and camp in my spot until the section opens up?
Any and all help will be appreciated, I was too young for the last one and I dont want to miss out on this one!

Do we know where the Gameday set will be located? In 2005 they were under Torg Bridge, and in 2007 they were across from Lane, I think on the Lacrosse fields.
I assume they won't do Torg bridge and they will try to keep it close to Lane.
I think the overall rumor this year is the Drill Field.
Drill field is a mistake, IMO. When they pan out, it could make the gameday crowd appear small (people do not realize how big the Drill Field truly is). And being that far from the stadium is a little weird. Oh well, I won't be able to make it there in time anyway.
With it being an 8pm game, I'm not sure if proximity to the stadium is important. Unfortunately there's not a good space near the stadium to have it. I absolutely did not like the set up in 2007 on the lacrosse fields.
I say they build a tree top village, do it atop Stadium Woods canopy and we all on the forest floor act as Ewoks with our signs and chants of war and valor.
It might be a little crowded, but I really hope they set up near the soccer field in Hokie village. It would create a great atmosphere over in lot 1. Would also be ascetically (I think that's right) pleasing for those watching on the TV to see Lane in the background.
It will be down by Alumni Mall. Torg Bridge and War Memorial area.

I was curious about this as well, because it will factor heavily in to my decision in attending. Bringing my girlfriend to the game, and it's her first time in Blacksburg. There's a lot to do/show, so I want to make the most of our time there. Anyone know when people start to show up? Is there a policy on making it in to whatever "holding" area they have? Can you just kind of show up and leave whenever?

I suggest doing game day... bring a fanny pack full of airplane bottles, when you've had enough of Game Day, you can leave and walk to Hokie Grill to get a delicious carved turkey sandwich. Then, walk around campus and give her the tour while maintaining your buzz via fanny pack airplane bottle stash.
I've never considered getting a fanny pack before now. It's too warm for a sweatshirt. This could be the answer.

I know it's a semi fashion faux pas, but fanny packs have yielded multiple valuable uses for me... most of which involve smuggling airplane bottles.
and when I say fanny pack, I typically use a "runner's belt", practically the same thing, just thinner and easier to hide, although a traditional fanny pack would hold significantly more, but would be easier to spot.
the skinnier runner's belt will hold 4 to 5 airplane bottles and can be worn under the shirt without being noticeable.
they also come in very handy while traveling abroad when you don't want your money, credit cards, etc. pick pocketed

In '05 gameday was setup by Torg Bridge. I was in Thomas Hall (upper quad), and we camped out all night, played touch football under Torg bridge, etc. Then at about 4 am we decided to go grab an hour of sleep in the dorm and come back out because it wasn't too crowded yet. Naturally we slept through all of Gameday, and then Marcus Vick fumbled his way to his first loss.

I want to go to gameday (I have a sign) but I know nothing about it. I'm getting a whole bunch of different suggestions on when to go and I'm also hearing there are two different sections for fans to stand in? which one is best if i want to be on TV with my sign the most. I've heard I need to get there by midnight. If that's true, is it like a line I stand and I can just bring a sleeping bag and camp in my spot until the section opens up?
Any and all help will be appreciated, I was too young for the last one and I dont want to miss out on this one!
