Son of a bitch. I've been lucky enough to receive two free tickets to a wedding. I've got some planning to do to come up with a good enough excuse to get out of this one.

Haha I just meant I didn't buy tickets to a show. I was invited to a wedding I don't want to attend but figured our all-but-guaranteed nooner against BC would allow me to watch the game. But I'm thinking I'm going to get unlucky and come down with one of the early strains of this year's flu. This'll be the last year I procrastinate on getting my flu shot!

Eh, it'll probably be the 4th or 5th biggest game on at that time slot... ESPN2 is generally behind whatever is shown on ABC, ESPN, and FOX, and that evening the Wisconsin-Nebraska game is on BTN

Yeah, I went to the 2013 game so I'm a little familiar with the layout but not an expert. That year, we ended up tailgating in the outfield of their baseball field right outside the football stadium. We just rolled up with plenty of beer and some BC fans invited us to join them. Since this is a night game, we may do some bar hopping first before heading over... I imagine there won't be much of a tailgate scene until mid-afternoon.
Planning to head to the Sox ALDS game on Sunday too (assuming current standings hold). Should be a fun weekend.

I'm living near Boston til after Christmas, so I'll be going to the game with 2 of my sons. Looking forward to seeing the Hokies crush the Eagles! It's a kind of revenge game for me.
Last game I went to in Chestnut Hill, circa 2005, we lost 22-3 in a very ugly contest. This in spite of the fact that my family and another family from Fairfax, visiting for the game, wore orange T-shirts with maroon letters spelling out G-O H-O-K-I-E-S!

I was so confident that this would be a nooner, or at least a day game, I bought tickets to a show that night....

What kind of weddings do you go to where they charge?

By principle, you don't schedule weddings during college football season.. They should expect an absence from the start!
Aw man, the SuperFans will be out in droves
I actually don't like this.
agreed.
It'll be harder to see all the empty seats in the dark.
7:15 PM? What a weird time.
Not really. In theory, it gives them a buffer after the 3:30 game, and still gives them time to fit a nightcap in.
We're just not used to cable primetime games.
The ESPN app needs all the buffering time it can get!!!!!!!!
Fuck Matt Ryan
So say we all.
It is known.
I'd planned to go do a haunted corn maze with friends that night because I wasn't expecting this... Obligatory "what?"
DRINK LOTS OF WATER CAUSE ITS GONNA GET THIRSTY IN HERE
My only guess is that this is ESPNs way of telling us that we're going to win this Saturday and they want us in prime time again?
Obviously, Gameday is going to BC next week.
I did a quick search for BC related gifs and came up with this one.....dont think it could be more appropriate
Oh snap, Miami at FSU lost its primetime spot!
Louisville at NC State? I smell Atlantic Chaos coming.
I can't wait for it, I'll be able to be on the field shooting video for that one
ESPN must be predicting that Miami and FSU will lose to the private schools of Tobacco Road.
And, honestly, that doesn't sound crazy this year.
They could play at 7:15am for all I care. The only thing that matters is its on ESPN2 and not that horseshit online streaming service known as ESPN3
For all the advertising they have done for their Watch ESPN app recently on tv, they have really shit the bed when it comes to a quality stream
This.
Actually works out quite nicely for me. Blacksburg BrewDo all afternoon so that I am nice and lit for the game in the evening!
I can record the game, still hunt all evening, come back and catch up by the end. Perfect for me.
3:30 for Miami at FSU is a pretty good slot. I just don't like the primetime games because a lot of other things are going on.
Gotta get used to being 'The Big Game' in the eyes of other schools again.

Wake Forest is a grossly underrated team right now. Not that Clemson wouldn't stomp them, but they have surprised me this year.
I'm actually picking them to beat FSU this weekend. Wake has a very solid defense and Wolford can make plays with both his arm and his legs.
It cracks me up when I see people not happy about a night game. It is a hell of a lot better than noon or streaming at 2pm.
Back to back night games? Sign me up.
Lefty still coach there?? If so I like our chances.... a lot. Shutout
#3#4 of the year incoming. Can't get caught looking ahead to BC.
On the bright side, we'd stop Clemson every time they try to jet sweep or bubble screen.
This is the first time since 2006 season we have back to back Prime time games in the Regular Season!!!!
Not counting Thursdays, of course.
I listen to a Portland sports radio show while at work sometimes.... I enjoy hearing West Coast analysts giving VT props for best stadium entrance.
Same here my fellow Portland/VT fam!
Excellent. More tailgate time. Anyone else heading up to the game?
I am, live only one hour away. But, be forewarned, BC is not a tailgate-friendly stadium unless you're a big donor.

That 06 game was the butts
